Suicide Squad Official Trailer

Harley and Joker both look really good, great casting choices for the both of them. The movie certainly looks a lot better than BvS is going to turn out which is kind of ironic since I assume DC wants BvS to be the standout film for this year and Suicide Square is more of a side project.

Having not followed the Suicide Squad in any Comic/Movies/Cartoons are whatever I have to ask a question (I'm spoiler tagging it because I'm not sure if it'll play into the plot of this movie or not).
Under what grounds was it considered a good idea to form a team of super-dangerous criminal masterminds? Why wouldn't you just send in the Justice League to solve any issues since I have to assume they exist in this universe or at the very least Superman/Batman do.
If that's her, then clearly she's not what they're assembling the Squad to put a stop to.

So... who is the villain, and how does Enchantress figure into all this?
I wonder if this takes place during BvS. Joker escapes, Batman is preoccupied with Superman and everything happening there, so Waller assembles the squad to go after Joker

In the midst of all that, Enchantress gets unleashed. She's probably the best reasoning for all the weird creatures and tentacle stuff in the trailer

I'm gonna see it opening day, but Batman v. Superman looks like "oh shit we need that Avengers money" condensed into a film.

This looks goddamn great.

I've never really gotten into any comics but if I remember correctly
it's because they do either unlawful or illegal things or they want it to be more of a secret by not using big heroes

The Squad exists for 2 primary reasons: first, deniability. If they're captured or killed in action then they can just write it up as Supervillains doing Supervillain shit. Second, controllibility. Because they're... well, supervillains, nobody much cares what happens to them after they go to jail, which means they're free to use whatever... "persuasions" they need to. Heroes are a lot harder to strongarm, and have more moral compunctions.

The ethics of the squad were a big part of the original run, though it's sort of ignored these days. Post 9/11 world and all that.

Where is this "bad will" coming from? GAF? haha

BvS looks great just like this movie. Two different styles.

Come on now...the first two trailers for BvS were great, but don't pretend like the last trailer (or two?) and tv spots haven't been shit. Because they have.

They do the jobs other heroes can't or won't to get time taken off their sentences while having neck bombs to keep them in line.

Joker looks great, but I still can't get over those fucking tattoos.

I really, really doubt it.
But I hope it is.

I thought that at first but then I remembered that in the car chase scene he still has the tattoos, and Margot is in full costume... unless she was wearing makeup at that point but that seems like a big if.

Oh man, even The Residents are in this movie.

Looks decent enough. Jared Joker still looks like cosplay. Their trailers and marketing is on-point, at least. It interests me way more than BvS: DoD: MoS2: JL0.

Looks pretty good, although not as good as the first trailer. BvS still looks much better though.

This could be a pretty great year for popcorn flicks. BvS, Suicide Squad, Civil War, Apocalypse, Independence Day, Rogue One, Star Trek, Ghostbusters etc. Even if a couple end up disappointing, it should be a better year than 2015 on that front.

Margot Robbie sounds like somebody with no comedic timing trying to be funny. Those jokes weren't hitting at all. Costume is great though.

Whilst I'm not sold at all on Margot's Harley, I don't think it's really fair to judge that based on the edits in the trailer.

I think she is, hence the blue and pink dye in the water. Could be wrong though.

It's mostly for covert ops stuff. Superman won't punch a dictators head off, but Killer Croc will. They get promised freedom in return. They also usually palce a bomb in their neck or head to keep them in line.

This looks amazing! I was already excited for the movie but now they're showing proper interaction I'm really looking forward to it.

I expect everybody will be dressed as Harley next Halloween.
Wasn't she last years most popular costume? I expect she'll launch to Elsa-like status this year.

Everything was going great... until Margot said one of the most cheesiest lines I ever heard in a trailer at the end.

Well, the Squad tends to be placed in situations the JL would never approve of. Afterall, they are the brain child of Amanda Waller.

There is nothing awesome about him. He's generic white actor #20394 who somehow ends up in big movies.

He ends up in big movies because he has a pretty face. And he picks shitty movies. But he's still a good actor when paired with a competent director and character. Go figure, right?

I know what I hate, and I don't hate this.

Was worried when I heard Bohemian Rhapsody because if you're going to use that song then your trailer better be good. Well done.

Man, I know that Marvel's been rolling hard lately and seem like they can't miss, but holy shit do WB/DC just not give a fuck and will try anything on planet fucking earth. 200 million dollar Mad Max? Sure. 150 million dollar Japanese manga adaptation? Sure. Big budget Suicide Squad movie? Eh, why not.

They just don't care. I've said this before, but I feel WB are the most inspired/creative of all the film studios, so them + DC means some real fucking crazy shit is coming. And it looks like is starts with this.

That was a very well done trailer. They're going to make a ridiculous amount of money on this.

I also liked the bit in the middle where basically every Squad member rocks a cop smack in the face the instant they're given the shot. That's a decent sign there's going to be some character-based humor in here, not just one-liners.

It feels like a GOTG situation, where they know they've got a winner, so they're going to ramp up everything real close to when it comes out. It's got sleeper all over it.

This makes BvS look like a Netflix production. So much better. I'm hyped for a DC movie, which isn't something I've ever said before.
