To be fair, Marvel currently actually have pretty good films in their cinematic universe while all DC have is... Man of Steel.

Good stuff. Really selling this Joker. Its the one that broke Affleck-Bat yeah? This is something marketing should really push. To the non-comic audience, the Joker 'winning' one would be completely different.

And I'm glad to live on a planet with this WB in it. Mad Max last year, Suicide Squad this year. Neither half-assed cash-in. Letting directors make their movies. No formula to adhere to. . . Just maybe ease up on the Snyder after BvS.

It looks like they'll both come to a change of thought more so than simply misunderstanding each others actions through the whole movie. Clark doesn't like Batman's brand of vigilante justice. Bruce doesn't like that Superman exists period. He'll probably channel a lot of the same complaints people had about the man of steel IRL.

It's pretty weird to be calling out marvel 'stans' whilst beating your chest over movies that haven't even released. Maybe wait and see if BvS and SS are any good before making such silly claims.

In all honesty I do think man of steel is better than most marvel movies.
 
It's still ridiculous. A large amount of the marketing costs are going to be ameliorated by tie-in deals and product placement, as well as lowered/reduced rates on their own media outlets (EW, CW, etc. etc.) Distribution won't cost all that much, and we're STILL only considering domestic reciepts. These are two of the most well-recognized superheroes ever, in the same live-action movie for the first time. A film that makes north of $400 million domestic is likely going to make at LEAST another $400 mil international, but much more likely that it'll make anywhere from 600-800 million. That's 1.2 billion.

There is no way you can consider that a bomb. It's ridiculous to even try and suggest as much.

If it made $1.2b would put it #3 highest grossing comic book movie ever made. Those movies were Iron Man 3 and Avengers. It doesn't have history that any of those have or international appeal, Age of Ultron was designed to succeed overseas.

Considering the next five years of tentpole projects from WB depend on the success of BvS, it is imperative that BvS breaks $1b. Anything less would be a disappointment and cause them to realign future projects. WB/DC is betting the house on this movie.
 
One thing that worries me is that everything about the movie we heard before now indicated it would just be your standard dark action flick. The director hasn't done anything like this before.

This trailer along with the new posters was a pleasant surprise, as the movie seems to have picked up a dark sense of humor that I really like. I just wonder why everything shifted so hard though. I hope this trailer isn't misleading and the movie is bursting with as much energy as it.
 
Damn. Looks great. Leto Joker is hype.

It's telling that BvS is like lowest on my Hype chart out of the 6(not even meant in a bad way). Everything looks good for different reasons. This, and Deadpool, due to tone. Cap and BvS due to scale. Doctor Strange due to casting. Xmen due to... um... the last movie being good.

Like there aren't HBO fans belittling AMC fans. People like Breaking Bad AND The Sopranos.

Yeah like... why? I kinda get console fanboyism... many can only afford one console, so you defend your choice to the death! With these comics and movies, it's entirely feasible you can afford to see two different movies from different studios.

I mean, I love it. I'm a fan of both, but company rivalries make things interesting. I like the idea of having two conceptually similar movies by different sources competing against each other. It doesn't mean I dislike one or the other, but the having a direct comparison tends makes things more interesting than not, as it highlights both the differences and similarities that might otherwise be taken for granted.

I have no vested interest in one of them being better though. Just a vested interest in them butting heads.

Jokes aside it's abotu damn time we got an antihero movie. Now all we need is Nemesis to start production and we'll be finally getting somewhere. Movie looks dope and the Joker is going to steal the show watch.

Can't speak for anyone else but I love Marvel vs DC... the companies. Let the companies duke it out trying to one up each other as we try to consume all this amazing content.

The fan boys battling is a little corny but mostly annoying.

I think I can safely say DC's second and third film will probably be leagues better than Marvel's second and third MCU films... (Hulk and Iron Man 2)... which is what I really don't get about the DC doom sayers... not like MCU come out the gates swinging. Marvel did eventually find their stride and are now hitting on all cylinders.
 
This looks good. Too much of trying to ape GOTG angle of SH's, but still great. Leto joker makes perfect sense in this universe. Excited to see this.
 
If you were to tell me a year ago that SS looked better the BvS, I would of said your fucking crazy.

BvS scares the shit out of me, because it has the potential to crash hard with all the shit they have to introduce.

This looks good.

I think I am more excited now for SS now then BvS

It seems to me that it is far more pervasive in those who don't read many comics and rather just watch the movies. And indeed it's pretty embarrassing.

That's the nature of capitalism, it always have to be just one at the top, just look everywhere....coca cola vs pepsi, democrats vs republicans, win vs mac, cowboys vs steelers, yanks vs redsox, marvel vs dc, MIT vs Harvard, IBM vs T-mobile, PS4 vs Xbone and I can go on and on...is it right or wrong? you be the judge
 
I wasn't interested much after the Comic Con trailer but this looks really fun and enjoyable. Definitely looking forward to it now - no, actively anticipating it!
