Fuckin' loved that bit.
Considering how central Joker is to Harley's identity, and since her story is about her breaking away from this abusive relationship, including him makes a ton of sense. Not to mention it lets them include Batman as to further connect this to the rest of the universe.
Sure. But my point is that a Suicide Movie can work with Joker. He isn't necessary to pull people in.
Mostly seems to take place after, but the Harley origin stuff probably takes place before.

but Joker is tied to Batman and that's something big a lot of people know so i have to agree with Shuggananas. Movie could work without him but SS definitely gains more attraction because of him.
I already know I'm going to like Jay.
That dude is seriously unlikeable for me in all the movies he was in. He lacks charisma but it looks like he could fit there.

They probably don't want to use him as a Batman solo villain again, so a natural fit is him fucking around with the squad. Unless he can slide into the slate another way?
He was great in Spartacus. I think this role suits him much more than regular action man.

This is shaping up to be something pretty great. Margot is killing it as Harley and Leto looks like he'll be a great Joker too. Ayer's direction is on-point too, so that's a plus in my book.
And while it isn't my personal favorite Queen song ("March of the Black Queen" is where it's at, folks), Bohemian Rhapsody was used to great effect here. When done right, making a good trailer is just as much a form of art as normal cinema can be. Great work, whoever it was that made this trailer.

They don't have to start with her story. Mind you, Harley is a fairly new addition to the squad.
To he point where I fear that he is eating away screentime from the squad itself. They're a lot characters in the first place, easy to neglect if he's vital to the story.
Joker can be a reasonable League threat. Maybe even as part of an injustice league.

Maybe I'm just crazy but this looks so much better than BvS. The more I see of BvS just seems so cheesy, the tone is all dark and gloomy but then they have the cringiest dumb dialogue in the trailers.
She's also easily one of DC's most iconic female characters, if not one of the most iconic comic characters. And even if she's only a relatively recent addition, it's pretty damn clear she's a mainstay on that team for the foreseeable future.
If you're putting together a Suicide Squad movie, why would you not use her?
I mean Batman and Superman weren't original founders of the JLA, but if you're doing a movie about the founding of the Justice League, you'd damn well better expect to have Batman and Superman on that roster.

That trailer did nothing for me. I hate Harley voice. Croc looks OK. I also hate the look of joker. I'll watch on streaming after release.

Jay Courtney was very charismatic and likeable on Spartacus, what happened to him after that is so weird.

Most of his roles were just "random action dude" where you could place anybody. Don't really blame him, the roles just weren't that interesting. Hopefully this one fits him better.

Agreed. He was great in Spartacus. Honestly, looking at his imdb page, he's just been in a lot of CRAP, except Jack Reacher but I'm not sure he had more than two lines there.
