Look okays. Not digging Leto's Joker. Feels like just a Heath Ledger impersonation. Bohemian Rhapsody was a perfect song choice. Harley's probably gonna steal the show.

There was nothing he said there that didn't sound like every iteration of the Joker. Unless they do something completely odd like go for a really really high pitched voice or a really thick accent it's always going to sound similar.

The voice is similar, but that's where it ends. Ledger's Joker wasn't as animated as this one. Wasn't much of a laugher or smiler either like Leto's already appears to be.

Like it's been said, Leto's joker is an amalgam of various different interpretations of the clown prince. But so was Ledger's. So it makes sense that there are some similarities between the two. Overall, I do think Leto's joker is his own. The dude has done his research, he wouldn't have bothered asking Grant Morrison on insight on the character if he was just going to just straight up copy Ledger. To be honest my only compliant is that I still don't like the tattoos. Character wise I think Leto is going to crush it but aesthetically speaking I still find the face tattoos distracting.

Hmmm. IMHO, I was greatly entertained by this trailer. nuHarley is growing on me, I think Margot Robbie has the spirit of the character, if not the letter (i.e. accent and/or old school costume).

Really digging the effect they've given Enchantress, with that haze surrounding her. Reminds me a little of the effect on the Soultaker. DC magic standard aura?

It's just that for something to be "remarkably mediocre," it seems that there'd have to be some distinguishing bit(s) that makes you go "wow, that's weak" or somesuch. I'm curious to hear your reasoning, because it's quite counter to the general impression and I'd like to know why.

But yea, I'm pretty sure no one is seeing it purely for Will Smith. The obvious main attraction here is Jared Leto's Joker and maybe Harley Quinn, otherwise I don't think some group of 2nd/3rd tieir bad guys doing something good would sell unless your Guardians of the Galaxy.
I hella doubt it'll bomb too. It's gonna rake in money, no matter how the reviews turns out. It's just no Fantastic Four movie.

Fucking awesome. At first I was thinking, "Bohemian Rhapsody? Really?" But that trailer did the song choice justice. The footage has so many crazy colorful interesting things to grab my attention; even if this movie ends up being bad (Which I doubt), it will still be a joy to look at.

I don't think this movie is depending on Will Smith. Frankly, Harley and Joker will draw in the bigger crowd, because one is a character many have been praying to get on the big screen for a long time and another is the most famous comic book villain of all time.
My money is on Harley to steal the show, but I do think Courtney for Boomerang might surprise us.

I dont think anybody is being defensive, yet. Just trying to get an actual opinion out of you other than "it looks bad, lulz". If NeoGAF, who you apparently usually trust with opinions, thinks it looks good and you don't, then I think the problem lies within.
Trailer is great. A bit "edge-dark" in a vacuum at times, but considering the source material I think it plays really well.
Leto Joker looks like it will be an amazing thing. As much as the film looks fun for other reasons, that's the one I am banking on. To me it seems he will be a bit more of a comic Joker than a Heath analogue. That fucking laugh is perfect, and his body language/expression is masterful from the little the trailer shows. I am in just for him. The rest is icing.
