Street Fighter V Beta IV Thread: Jan 30-31

First as in your first stick ever?

Because if so, there's a bit of an adjustment period. Just make sure to stick with it.

I got a mad catz fight (the wrestling one) stick almost brand new for £20 yesterday. Been trying to get used to it, you're not wrong about the adjustment! Taking awhile to get used to the Ultras.

I just preordered so now I have a 3 steam beta keys to gift. If anyone wants it they are welcome to it. Just shoot me a message. Going to bed now but I will check back in the morning.

Is there some sort of single sign on to our capcom account that can maintain things such as fight money and dlc across platforms? Ex. Whatever i earn on ps4 is also carried over to pc and vice versa. I would guess no but not sure if its been clarified.

Reminds me I need gut my TE1 for sticks and buttons and shove the parts into my HRAP4K.

Probably not, because the prices for stuff on PC gonna tank sooner or later, and people would just buy it there instead of PSN. They'd be throwing away money.

Thanks!

I bet this question has been asked before, but other Ryu, are there any other characters that are better or worse than others for an SF newbie?
I think the other go-to character in this game is Chun-Li. It will teach you to use your normals more, how charge moves work and you don't need Ryu's unique parry V-Skill.
There are also a lot of grapplers in the game, but I don't know which one would be a good start.

Hopefully there's no 10 hour long maintenance sessions.

Barring any unforeseen issues, plan is to keep it up for the duration of the beta.

That's 3 betas in a row where my parents visit me from out of town that weekend. Are they in cahoots? Does Capcom talk to my mom before deciding what weekend the beta should be?

Sorry, we had to consult your mother for your wellbeing. Too much salt is not good for the body, so we agreed it was for the best that she spend quality time with you.

On a more serious note, this is our final beta before launch so we're trying to include as many characters as possible.

As a reminder, anyone who've opted in to previous betas are automatically in for CBT4.

If you currently don't have access to the beta, you can:

1) pre-order from the North American PSN Store or Steam digital version worldwide to receive the pre-order edition which auto-grants beta access. (Non-NA PSN regions I believe are still lottery-based.)

2) pre-order from participating retailers for the disc version including GameStop/EB, BestBuy, and Amazon. You should receive a separate beta download key upon pre-ordering the game.

3) get the beta key from a friend/fellow GAFer. Some should still have extra friends & family giveaway codes left.

I'll be playing on both PS4 (HadokenCab) and Steam (wbacon) this weekend, so some of you are destined face my fury. I'm a total scrub...hopefully I'll be able to reduce your NaCl intake and get you prepped for launch. At least I should be a bit more entertaining than the training AI.

Any good Karin replays/guides showing how to deal with projectiles and getting in against defensive opponents? I think that was my biggest issue playing as her in past betas.

They buffed most of the casts cr.HK to do from 90 -> 100 damage. Guess they're trying to give players more initiative to using CH sweeps as a punish and/or more rewarding footsies.

Ressenha is very good against projectiles.
Also, qcf.kk goes through projectiles.

They also added a lot of stun to throws. I don't know if anyone saw Alex Valle's stream after the EVO announcement, but he explained how he thinks the game is build around stun.
