I've been watching some stream today, and with the announcement of DLC's I think I have my game for the spring!
Yeah, I can see this getting very repetitive for some people, I just hope the missions are more diverse than Destiny. I do like the scope though and the graphics are good.
I think the beta is ok,definitely not a D1 purchase for me but I'll pick up if some of my XBL buddies will.
The biggest gripe I have are the enemies who just run towards you with baseball bats, not the smartest idea considering I have assault rifles and a pistol. I think it would have been better to see enemies switch to melee if you're within a certain distance, rather than charging across an open area. Also would have been cool be have the option of searching car boots for loot, maybe we'll see that feature in the release version.

Of course this isn't the full game. I would argue that some more faces and armor skins aren't going to drastically affect my experience, but maybe I'm wrong. I'm really looking forward to jumping in though regardless.

Yeah holy crap no way. WDs lost alot of the lighting that made the environment look a lot more realistic. Division certainly still retains some of the lighting effects. Sure, the light might not be shining through bullet holes in windows, but I think the downgrade is nowhere near as bad as WDs.

I played a couple hours with a friend and we had a lot of fun...
But we both couldn't stop thinking that this won't have legs.
Once we finish all the missions, all that's going to be left is Dark Zones? That's fun and all, but roaming around looking for bots and other players is going to get boring really fast.

I only got shot at once in ~3 hours of DZ time, nobody started shooting when the choppers would drop its lines at extraction points and there were a number of times where it was 8-10 people dropping off stuff. Who knows how bad ganking will be in release, but I also suspect people will figure out ways to connect to empty servers so they can have entire DZ's just for themselves and friends.
The bigger issue is that NPCs are really spread out and on slow respawn timers, so I could see people getting angry at just missing an NPC camp spawn. Guess it just depends on how big the final 20 level DZs are and how populated, hard to judge from 1-10 DZ areas. The NPC camps also all seem to be fairly fixed in spawn locations. Hope keys drop more frequently too, in ~25 NPC kills in the DZ I got 0 keys.

I am! A thread three years in the making, haha.
Watching ForceStrategyGaming's stream and he is doing very well in DZ all by himself. Farming AI in different spots of DZ and extracting blues constantly.
Edit: Gameplay loop in DZ is very tiny when you don't have to deal with rogues. You just farm AI until DZ Inventory is full, then you go and extract those items and go back farming. Once in a blue moon you go and play inventory tetris to clear stash space for more DZ loot.

Been playing solo darkzone all day, you can survive fine. The density of the map allows almost every situation to be escaped, and so far everybody is more focused on extracting instead of betraying.

Well hot damn, it's almost like some of us might not have a XB1 or aren't interested in downloading 20+ GB and/or will be away from our gaming devices this weekend and are interested in the impressions of other people while we're unable to play it ourselves and develop our own opinions.

I really hope the long-term meat of the game isn't in the dark zone. Its a cool concept, but its really not my cup of tea. Pretty much making it impossible to get "The best loot" unless you're with a team. I would much rather have subway "dungeons/raids" then running around with a bunch of people just waiting for someone to extract stuff. I got killed by a group of people, for some fucking knee pads...lmao

There is PvE endgame. We just have no information about it.
Some raid style thing for sure.
After you see the heli cut-scene (more or less immediate) you spawn in a HUB where you can invite friends before you start the journey.

One question for those who already started the beta on XO....I'm planing to play with my cousin tomorrow, so what I need to know, can you immediately start in co op with your friends or is there some kind of solo tutorial section at the beginning? Damn I'm getting hyped!
