Also, in which mode do you get to pick your character before a match? I've only seen it select my favorite character from that favorites menu. I'm not a fan of that. Sometimes I wanna try out different characters.

You can switch your online character/stage in the training mode menu now as well as the main menu.

OK done for today..time to go to sleep.
I played around 30 matches and it was overall very good experience.
The matching speed was very good (around 10~20 seconds in the training menu to get matches). The loading times when getting matches seems much faster than previous betas. The connection was also great... I think I had 2 matches out of 30 that I had some problems.... and even in those matches it was just a brief moment.
Also this time I have been matching with players in similar skill as me more often.
As for character I have been playing Karin the whole time. Can't really say much since I suck at the game. But compared to previous betas, I think I have been getting a bit better now. I have been doing much better at connection the tenko combo. I still panic and make stupid mistakes that cost the round. I need to get better at that.
Anyways, enjoyed the first day. Can't wait to play more tomorrow.

Also, why doesn't training mode respect your battle match settings? I turned Fight Request Settings off, but when I go to training mode, they're back on. :/ I can't train in peace and keep getting interrupted by players and get my ass kicked.
 
two questions:

How do I get rid of the awful v-sync issues I'm having? Is it a common thing, or am I unique there?

Why am I only playing as ryu?

This is a beta to test the netcode; not a single player demo, lol.
 
Finally got a chance to play SFV without crashing issues and it was pretty fun. At first you think Karin kinda sucks, but then she gets Triggered up and everything is bananas. Managed to get to level 5. The online is also kinda bad unless the connection preferences are set at 3-5. After that it becomes better than most delay based netcode games. Skullgirls is still king with pre-match custom delay settings, though.

Change the connection preferences to 3-5. That did it for me. When I left it on default I got lots of Japanese players and some were teleporting kinda hard. On 3-5 it goes only about as far as Finland and it's very playable.
 
First time I'm finally getting a chance to sit down with the beta and play and I keep getting matches. I just wanna sit in the lab with Ken for an hour before facing others. Goddammit Capcom
 
I only got a few matches in. About half of them were filled with lag. It was really unplayable. I'm guessing it's because the player base is really small that it took so long to get a match going.

I really hope this isn't the case when the game finally launches. Other than that, this was my first time playing the game proper against other people and I liked it. It feels different from SF4 and that's a good thing for me at least. I hope to put in more time over the next few days.
 
What?? Beta is out today? I'm still in the process of installing/setting up my new rig and I'm at work so it's holding me back even more :(

Can't wait to try it.
 
I cant believe how fun this is. It does feel less technical and slightly simpler but not to the point it feels dumbed down. First time playing this beta. I cant wait for release

Only a few weeks left to use this excuse. :V

Honestly, while the netcode itself has been pretty good to me throughout the betas, I'm somewhat concerned that we really haven't been given anything in the way of lobbies or more fully-featured matchmaking.

Any USB slot I plug it in, nothing. It just flashes for a second. I think it's incompatible with Windows 10 and I need another program.
 
Is there no downtimes this beta? Don't want to look forward to playing later today and find out it's on 12 hour maintenance.
 
For you guys playing on PC, I bet you could use speed limiter to limit the speed To a crawl, or use an aweful vpn with 30000ping then set the connection preference to 5 only. That should make matching with someone almost impossible and give you more time in training.

c.MP

c.MK

Maybe s.LP links into L scissors, but I haven't tested since it became cancelable.

Yes it does. It used to be better for this because it was a d, u charge motion, so you didn't have to worry about accidentally crossing yourself up.

If by pressure you mean spam, then yes. But no Bison should be doing double scissors in this game.
 
One other question; what do you guys use to get your PS4 sticks working well on your PC? I'm using Windows 10. I've just been plugging in a 360 stick, but my PS4 stick (MadCatz Guilty Gear stick) is way better than my old 360 stick, and I'd like to use that.
 
Does anyone else have this issue where the First round is laggy as hell , then the 2nd and 3rd rounds are completely fine.

Its soo fking annoying. I have connected my PS4 via ethernet and NAT type 2. WTF is going on?

Use this software called x360ce. Thats what I used for my HRAP v4. You can emulate PS4 stick as Xbox input.
 
5 straight victories, so far only got new people.

EDIT - Just as I speak I get bodied by a Laura, man that character is hard to play against.

Played like 5 games last night. Got bodied pretty hard by ken and ryus. However I did manage to beat a chun li.
I need to remember to roll under projectiles more often.

Ya if I recall you can't link into the passion rope throw if you use the target combo. A lot of target combos are limited on what you can do after them. Generally any combos starting with a light isn't going to get many hits.

Describe your problems with vsync. If it's not working, try going to windowed mode. That should force vsync on.

Baiting a shoryuken by jumping in with full super is so damn satisfying.
 
Hey guys, so I put my code in a while back, but after the last beta, hoping that I could just download the app incase there was another beta. (Missed all previous ones)

So how do I actually get the app? I got in to my service list in account management on my PS4 and it says Street Fighter V Beta there. But there is no actual App on my dashboard?
How do I download the app?

Help please GAF!

check the library on your PS4 it should be there
