According to a post on Reddit, Fine Bros have also been deleting negative comments on their video as well.

BEING MONETIZED"TEENS RESPOND TO ___________"
The entire existance of neogaf. A forum discuss your rection to things shared experiences through words. Goes against your statement. Shared experiences don't even need pictures in some cases.Watching someone watch a screen is not sharing an experience.
Basically three pages of people responding to something they have no idea about, with a "Who are these chuckeleheads!" thrown in for good measure.
REACT is a brand. They have the right to franchise that brand however they want (as well as protect any elements of that brand).
Anyone who actually sat back and thought that these guys were going to someone claim ownership over reaction videos needs to get off the internet for a few days (or at least Buzzfeed).
shoutout to money
So nothing actually wrong. Interesting. So from what I been told, they just trademarked their shows, it has nothing to do with copyrights.
Man they really picked a bad time to not be clear and communicative about their initiative with this whole horrible copyright strike season that has been going down lately.
But I guess people who jumped the hate bandwagon are at fault too. They shouldve waited for the clarification statement to see whether or not they were REALLY gonna do what those people thought the Fine Bros were gonna do.
That doesn't follow the same name format, and is not even in the same market. There is little chance of confusion, so they both could maintain their marks without conflict.RIP ReactOS.
The big issue here to that they encourage people to flag others reaction videos. That's really shitty that they are basically trying to false flag videos and potentially get people's channels taken away.
Why do they need to trademark something that was around before their channel started?
Presuming they started this, I don't have a problem with them trademarking "X React". That's a very specific brand, and a reasonable person could think that they are part of a series of videos by the same creator. Preventing that sort of confusion is the entire purpose of trademark law.
Though, they should have done so sooner. They may have already allowed it to become generic. If so, they lost their mark.
I doubt anyone will ever capture the type of success that they have so that is really just excessive. So they can stop any competition as anybody can do a reaction video if they have a camera the ability to upload to youtube.
Or people just wish to share an experience.
I think that showed , like your statement, just showed that you might not understand simple human interaction.
You tried.
Ooh edgy, aren't you.The entire existance of neogaf. A forum discuss your rection to things shared experiences through words. Goes against your statement. Shared experiences don't even need pictures in some cases.
You are wrong.
You tried though grandpa
First Sony trying to copyright Let's Play and now this? What type of YouTube video is being copyrighted next?
Perfection.
What an idiotic thing to trademark.
Japan's been doing this shit for decades!
Being descriptive would count against it, but I don't think that inherently disqualifies it from protection. It would need a court ruling. It seems pretty generic to me. If I see a thread about "X React to Y" I don't go "oh another video from the excellent Fine Bros I had better watch it right away!" It's descriptive.

'X React to Y' reminds me of 'X for Dummies', which is a much clearer example of why trademarks may legitimately cover it.
REACT is a brand.
So is Apple.Based off a common English word. I find it very hard to believe that they'd be able to get that past a trademark bureau.
