Street Fighter V Beta IV Thread: Jan 30-31

I've been playing Street Fighter my entire life, and I consider myself to be an above average player competitively. I cannot win a SINGLE match in this game. What the FUCK is up with this? I don't understand what is happening. Everything feels so slow with a bazillion frames of recovery.
My current beta win rate is 20-30%, and I swear most of the wins are just the opponents testing out stuff.

Tiny changes add up to create an overall solid character. Also, as far as I can tell, Psycho blast leave you at far less disadvantage on block than even lk scissors, clearly intended for block string use over scissor kicks.

They removed OTG because they removed it from everyone. After the initial "OMG OTG" shock wore off, I have to admit it doesn't really fit the game as it is now.

Well, LK scissors now has the least advantage of all scissors (-4/-3/-2). I think Blast is indeed meant more for ender than scissors (which I feel are now more of a space control and reaction move now) but I agree that it could stand to be reverted to beta 1 hitbox size. That's about all I would really like to see change for the final release at this point, at least as far as stuff that might actually happen. He's still pretty desperate for VT compared to most of the cast I feel, even if I don't think he's weak.

Looks like the game isn't so simple after all?
Gah damn. Ice cold.

Also, using Dictator's HK as an anti air is working so well. Free crush counters!

You've been playing Street Fighter wrong.

I haven't played SF, outside of local multi, in a while and it shows.

Getting down some combos without connecting to a match is frustrating, so sticking to Ken has been great.

Would really like to get good with Laura though, had some great combos and love ending her df punch with her followup.

man, this time around the online is terrible for me. Was never this bad the previous times. Every single match is a teleportfest this time around

So my first day with online matches went quite well. I came out with a nice win % and for some reason this game suits me a lot better than USF4.

I can play neutral pretty well in this game, I just use my absolute SF fundamentals and so far it is working. I think this game is really punishing for new people who are reversal happy.

I'm losing a lot, but it's still quite simple. Matches end after a few well-timed normals and maybe a 2-hit combo on the rare occasion. I'm more concerned about how fun it will be to spectate.

lololololololol
Played more Ken. Ken is bad. Played some Chun. Haven't lost since. Therefore, Chun is good.

Really?

I found most people completely oblivious to his hurricane+ air hurricane kicks with the v-skills at low ranks.

Simple games are the easiest to spectate, b

Get hype for my Rashid Rushdown

Yo I haven't gotten a single game in like 20 mins

Maybe it's time for stream monsters to develop an appreciation for the neutral game instead of looking for the next gfycat wtf moment.

The fuck? So matches that only consists of normals hitting once? Sounds like bullshit or you and your opponents are complete shit.

Just bought the game and installed the beta. When I launch the Accept/Deny the EULA screen comes up and I can use my arrow keys to go between the options but i cant find a key that triggers any option? Wtf? Help?

So is it safe to say that Dhalsim has completely changed archtypes?

I have really good internet, so I can't last more than a minute without entering a match.

Feelsbadman

I was on that route for a bit, and then went into the fucking void and never came out again

So does no one use Rashid? I've only seen one across the last two betas. I'm pretty much the only one I ever see.

I am clearly the best Rashid ever in the history of the world

That's one minor issue I have with SFV, need cliff notes on what each character's V-T does.

Some are visually obvious (e.g. Ryu), some are not (Laura).

edit: oops sorry you said V-Skill

I've gotten bodied by Fragment 3 times now I think. Just don't know how to handle a Chun I can't keep out yet. On the other hand, I think I'm going to have some fun with empty jump SRK. That shit has been working because people are still tech'ing all the time.

IIRC, I think I mostly won because I just had a read on your fireball patterns.

But yeah, I need to to respect the sweep into vtrigger cancel more when Ryu has vtrigger.

I know what you mean on V-Triggers though.

Lots of guides are outdated or just simple list out damage values affected during V-Trigger though not going into detail about speed/attacks when V-trigger is popped.

Atm trying to experiment, but it's hard when I'm consistently getting in matches.
