Street Fighter V Beta IV Thread: Jan 30-31

I'd say Chun is a good pick. Godlike normals, abuse them.
Yes exactly plus they aren't to complicated to pull off. I just need to work on timing and counters notably. My defense has definitely gotten a bit better. Still kind of tough when I'm matched against level 5s lol

I've tried Ryu, Bison, Dhalism, Birdie, Rashid and Chun Li to see which was the smoothest for me. I've stuck with Chun Li currently as she seems my "best." Getting slightly better, but still getting rocked. At least the game is fun hahaha

Ken is a really, really solid choice for getting back into the groove.

He has a v-skill (Medium punch + Medium kick) that runs toward the opponent.

During this you can cancel into different moves like hurricane kick.

It's pretty effective too.

Yooo, tearing stuff up with Rashid.

Seems really noob friendly too.

Not sure how I feel about gief in this. He seems alright but suuuuuuuuuper basic to the point of being pretty dull.

"I've been playing Street Fighter my entire life, and I consider myself to be an above average player competitively. I cannot win a SINGLE match in this game. What the FUCK is up with this? I don't understand what is happening. Everything feels so slow with a bazillion frames of recovery."

Looks like the game isn't so simple after all?

Dhalsim has finally clicked for me <3 I haven't mained him since the Alpha days (somehow I never got used to his SF4 self). That means Karin is now my secondary, I guess.
Well it's a pretty different game. If vega had most of his sf4 normals he'd be busted to hell.
Close stand strong was almost useless in SF4. I just wanna bitchslap people.

When the inevitable "hey everyone gets another super or two to choose from" update comes along, her new super should just be the bitchslap. Like no enlongated anime shit or anything, just SLAP SLAP.

I'll have to give Ken a shot tomorrow then, considering I'm winning jack with Chun Li. Did win my first round though lol

Caved in and having fun with the beta, despite my terrible play. Quick question for anyone , I see slight pixelation on either the character outlines or the shadows ... not sure which. It's especially prominent in character select. This normal or is this tv messed up?

PS4 version suffers from bad dithering.

i am talking with amazon customer service right, i need my beta code.
i miss ken so much
can wait

edit:
"I have checked and see that we haven't offered any pre order bonus code for this item" amzon uk

thank you very much
first division now this.
my lucky is so good

I am clearly the best Rashid ever in the history of the world
of my apartment complex

I feel the same way :D

Only played about 3 hours total today, but I didn't see a single Rashid, Cammy, or Dhalsim.

I've seen several Cammys and Dhalsims and they've all completely destroyed me. I've been trying Cammy again and damn I suck with her now. So out of practice.

I'm a Rashid user, and he's great with his mix-ups and target combo. I have seen several Rashid users throughout the four betas. The one you have to question is that why there aren't any Dhalsim players out there on Beta IV

I love Rashid's mixups. It seems that most people don't know how to deal with them. Still trying to get the hang of his target combos, but I can usually get away with his mixup game alone.

Switched to Rashid
OOOO
like 30 minutes ago and I've been tearing through enemies like paper.

Yep, I have a ~50% (maybe a little less) win rate with him this beta.

So much fun with Mika, I have lost a lot but I'm close to break the 1000 points in the league.
I tried other characters but.. none really clicked like Mika.

Karin feels like the scrubkiller (ala SF4 Blanka) of the game rn

Or the character that hasn't seen many adjustments throughout the betas because they don't know where to adjust her. Or just want her to be really good, which also happens.

She doesn't need to use EX meter which means she has super 99% of the time and can combo into anything with impunity. Her normals are obscenely good stand hp, stand MK, cr MK, cr mp. Safe specials, multiple over heads, high damage, etc... The trade off is apparently 900 health. Yeah right.

Starting to get the timing for cr.lp st.mp cr.mk xxx lk sbk down.

Should probably start using air legs more but I do well enough without it that I keep forgetting about it. Feel like that move is probably kind of overrated anyway.

I'm having fun, but I still find the game to be mostly disappointing. It doesn't look anywhere near as good as the videos had me expecting; it just doesn't have much of a distinct visual identity.
