I used to be with "it". Then they changed what "it" was.

I don't understand Snapchat. I know what it is but I've never used it and don't really see the point. Teenagers tell me about it. I don't know why they're on it all the time.

I was watching Elders react to 3D Printers on YouTube. I honestly had no idea how 3D printers worked. Never saw one in action before.

Same thing with Oculus Rift. Recently saw a video. Had no idea what it is. Don't really have any interest either. My PS3 is working fine.

I'm not even old but somehow I don't understand the latest and greatest anymore. The younger generation confuses me.

What technologies/phenomena make you feel like you're not "with it" anymore?

Pretty much all of those things + Vine. Group chats using Facetime or whatever, too. Although, I have a PS4 and keep up with gaming.

Selfie sticks confuse me. That's about it. And at least those will serve a purpose for a decent gag in Zoolander 2.

Pretty much YouTube culture. In my day nobody gave a shit about annoying people.

Reaction videos. Why do you give a shit about other people's reactions? Get a job. Get a life. Get a haircut!

Me (to my 12 year old nephew last summer): "You play Arkham Knight yet?"

Him: "No, but I watched someone play through the whole game on YouTube, it's awesome"

Me: "...."

People like sharing things with their friends. Or having their friends share things with them. Instantly through their computer phones using the internet. It's pretty cool.

My nephew watches jacksepticeye.

I can't stomach the guy, I'm so confused.

where's my walker?

If I was 12 I wouldn't want to touch the AK solely because of the Riddler races. Bunch of bullshit that was.
snapchat = send funny face pics to your friends
More like take pictures of silly things at the store or from in public

i don't get snapchat, vine, instagram, or any social media besides facebook/twitter. i don't like facebook/twitter, but i at least understand their appeal. why would you want to go to social media sites that do a fraction of what one of the others does?

i don't get emojis. i used to think they were for 12 year olds or something. it sounded like the way i texted when i was in junior high school. but now everyone uses them? what the fuck is that shit?

i absolutely love that the vast majority of youtube sensations stay on youtube where they belong. most of them are absolute trash.

Snapchat - appealing because all teenagers do is send each other stupid bullshit and nudes

Vine - appealing because no one under 18 has an attention span; also the perfect vehicle for dank memes

LINE - appealing because stickers convey all the nuance in kids' personalities

tl;dr - Kids suck, and have never been interesting.

When I was dating a girl she mentioned she had a 7 year old cousin that was making YouTube videos. I don't even remember what I was doing at that age.

SnapChat exists because people like to communicate through pictures, but don't want their friends to have libraries of pictures of them.

All my junior navy guys use snap chat...I don't get it.

Though years ago using text messages was something I thought was dumb so what do I know?

I use Facebook to follow businesses and bands
I use Snapchat for random, funny, interesting stuff i see without having to edit anything
I use Instagram to post better looking photos either from my dslr or good photos from my phone

What are dank memes :(

Never even heard of LINE.

The fuck is LINE.

Messenger app; it's really big where I live (Taiwan).

http://line.me/en/

Functionally almost identical to Facebook messenger/whatsapp, except that each account is limited to one device for some reason. It's taken over the dating scene here, which sucks, because I've had cute women ask for my LINE, and I don't have one. I'm the grandpa stuck in the Facebook age.

this came out like five years ago grandpa
The heeeeell. There are too many damn messenger apps

I went from WhatsApp to Viber to Telegram and back to WhatsApp. I'm staying on WhatsApp forever now.

I don't think this is really about being at an advanced age (like 28 years old). It just means you get mad at things you don't understand the appeal of.

What I don't understand is why people have abandoned Facebook for a platform like Instagram or Snapchat as their primary social media when those two have like 1/10th of Facebook's functionality. Good luck trying to organize an event over Insta...

EDIT: For those freaking out about Line or Whatsapp, they only got really big in East/Southeast Asia and Central/South America, respectively. Kik is the closest thing in scale relevant to North America.

Yeah, I also don't get Snapchat.

It's apparently some photo-editing software that doubles as a messenger app?
