Street Fighter V Beta IV Thread: Jan 30-31

The Karin and Mika armies sure did dwindle in numbers.

Was using Mika all night, first time using her. Spent a couple of hours in practice to nail some of her combos and then gave her a test run. Really enjoyed it. She has some great stuff when your able to corner players.

If Mika punishes Karin's super with a rope throw, and the wall-bounce KOs, Mika gets the super-flash KO screen. Wut?

HeyGuys

Why do so many Karin with high LP spam QCB P all day and do nothing else? Fighting Karins is so boring because of this.

Yesterday I had a lot of matches laggy as hell and characters teleporting. I hope today it's better :/

Ah I see. My issue is that the animations for characters are very slow. While it stays at 60 fps, it's just animating slowly. I'm seeing other people state other problems with the pc beta, some even say it's unplayable so I guess that's it. Either way it's a beta so hopefully it fixes before the release.

At high resolutions I was able to cause some animation weirdness with Gief by doing splash into crouching MP into super.

Don't know if I encountered a cheater or what. Dude instantly moved to positions without dash animations, was able to cancel out of everything etc...

Uh, these betas are ruining my sleep schedule. I'm always like lemme try this out and then I get interrupted with a match then I think of something else to try.

Because scrubs like me eat it every single time. Seriously my brain just melts when I am against Karin or Rashid for some reason and barely can get any hits in while they spam same specials with little to no variation.

Why does QCB+P with Karin still works on some people? You just crouch! Both follow ups will fail, if you do that.

Give it time.

I stuck to Karin for the time I played but the lag was not great (wired). Maybe today will be different.

Love her s.MK. Just poke that damn foot out and ruin someone's day. Love it. And her s.HP as an antiair.

One of my biggest problems with the netcode is when it looks like I landed a crossup jumping attack, hit or block, and then within a split second I'm being thrown.

Super frustrating.

It can really fuck up hit-confirms if you hear the hit, only for it to change into a block.

Parrying is the most addictive satisfying thing ever, hotdamn.
I'm not sure what exactly to parry vs block. Like with Ryu I can parry Chun's CA and gief's full v trigger just fine but when it comes to jump ins I feel that blocking is the better option. Any tips on what to parry? So far i've just been using it as a surprise every now and then.

What I find peculiar about net code is that I rarely get any input delay. But I do ocassionally get jittery characters. It measn that neutral game is tough to follow, but combos and stuff are easy, even during even those moments, as timing is not affected at all...

It definitely has its benefits.

That's because the netcode is not delay based..

Yesterday when the beta seemed to determine to have me play someone from every country, I had a bunch of teleporting, laggy matches. This morning though, aside from 2-3 jittery ones, I played nearly 50 matches that were indistinguishable from local.

Netcode is solid.

That's why they made it the way it is. The idea is that the game plays out with a very low, constant amount of lag, but instead of waiting for the opponent's inputs to come across the net, the game just plays through without them and "rewinds" the gameplay if it turns out that the opponent did something different than what had already played out on-screen.

I'm kinda new to Ryu but you are kinda right to block a jump-in rather than parry if you've forgotten to DP.

I try to punish fierce attacks up close the most myself. I'm having great success with that.

What's the best way to record your games these days? FRAPS used to be the go to

I need to record the jitterness/laggyness, 5 bars filter still does nothing I don't understand.

1300lp now and climbing, I just won 8 in a row and it just feels like 'meh' since I'm fighting the lag not the player.

Blonde moment, guys I turn off auto matchmaking in the main menu but when I go to the lab it starts again? Just want to train, when I hit start the options to switch it all off are greyed out?

What I can't figure out is when you should use Giefs Iron Body.
Only used him once, what I did was hold vskill and walked the guy into the corner. I then released it resulting in a quick atuo attack. From that you can go straight into CA.

Pointblank lol

This 3.3k lp chun ragequit after a hard earned ass win, the fucking salt im feeling right now i swearrr im too drunk for this shit

good night yall

Decided to join the PC beta festivities. Playing Mika because she's hilarious, but I'm having a hard time escaping pressure without EX meter. Any tips?

Can only stop auto-matchmaking in the menu. Joining training forces you to queue up for matchmaking

Still really enjoying it. It's the 3. Beta that I play and it is really shaping up to a great street fighter. I want to get it digitally for ps4, what's the best place to pre-order for maximum pre-order content?

Yeah, guess I need to practice parrying fierce attacks. Can never remember which characters do 2 or 3 hits so I end up either doing an empty parry or not parrying the last hit. To the lab!

Bandicam. Shadowplay if you have an Nvidia card.
