Street Fighter V Beta IV Thread: Jan 30-31

oh man lag with rollback is freaking horrible. like i would rather turn this crap off. no better than shitty marvel netcode.

I really look forward to understanding the ranges and anti-airs I need to keep Zangief out, because right now, I'm not enjoying that fight.

I do all the time. It makes people play stupid, which is hilarious to me.

I had a Ryu do that to me to open it all up. Either you can't cancel out of that shit or he just committed, cuz I jumped in and he got bopped real good. Next round he showed some skill and took it. Third round I perfected so I don't know what the hell was with that guy. Something tells me he wishes Dan was in this version.

alright, done with the beta. around 2k points you get into the rage quit tier.

really unfun for me to be able to take these guys down who are 10+ levels, 100 more points and then they just pull the cord.

oh well

Really hoping Capcom punishes that shit hard. As for taunting, I only do it with friends or when somebody taunts first because they're getting lucky /lag assisted

I'm convinced Gief can't do anything to Nash.

Alex Memers proved me wrong, but I think the people casting had my back on that

Seems like they improved the net code in the middle of the day or something. All morning most of my matches were plagued with lag.

Playing now and for about 4 matches in a row everything was smooth as hell.

Is this gonna be Laura's story mode unlock costume?

For starters stop jumping. Also like every grappler in Street Fighter you have to zone them out. And you need to AA from the ground

Can't help but jump against grapplers, it's a bad habit. I've been trying to AA Laura from the ground, but apparently my timing is wrong or I should use different normals depending on the spacing.

I don't understand why people rage quit a beta. Rank doesn't even matter. Just learn from the people stomping you and bring it for the full release.

Think i'm done until the game is done. Really need to spend time in the lab without getting interrupted every 1-2 mins. Wake me up when I can go into training mode and...well... train.

Start recording and play as the dummy.

As long as you are recording you can train as much as you want, no one can challenge you.

It actually just makes most of us feel like shit and give up on ever hoping to get good at fighting games, period.
You can't have fighting games without the salt. It's a Yin/Yang thing.

Did points matter before? It's about egos, man.

I need a second character but hesitant to go back to chun bae since everyone and their mother is now bandwagoning. I'd like to play bipson but i'm not sure i like playing him as much as i like watching him being played well.

Reached the 1500 mark, I think I could push to 2000 but that's enough for today.

Laura is super fun to use, especially the v-skill enables all kinds of nasty strings into throws/command throw etc.

Why? Because they construe it as disrespect instead of a tool?

Sounds like a good lesson for a new player to learn.

I've gone over this before in some of the other beta threads, but while you may see it as just a random gaffe/mindgame thing, it's very, very easy to for a person new to the game to see it as someone being an asshole. Even if you've played fighters forever, you can't discount that.

And the lesson most new people would take from that is 'I'm bad at this game, and the people that play it are dicks. I'm going to stop playing it now.'

fought a good rashid and had no freaking clue what to do.
Oh damn

It should have hit me sooner, but I have literally not fought Rashid even once. That is kind of insane considering he is a new character.

Dude, you might have just given me a chance to try Mika for real. I wanted to use her pretty bad since I got the beta weeks ago, but between the crashing (fixed now) and constant training challenges I gave up on the idea and focused on Karin.
