Street Fighter V Beta IV Thread: Jan 30-31

Yeah but I remember having trouble with it in beta 1. Like I could only do it in EX or something. Dunno. Glad it's still there.

He was really really fucking good in beta 1, and autopilot too. He could've used some improvements but his pressure was extremely easy to keep.
It really wasn't. People were just stupid and mashed buttons.

df.HP has pretty good range and moves you forward, it is very usable in the neutral. It's also +1 on block. I'm pretty sure Bison is the only dude in the game where both of his non-sweep CCs are positive on block.
Did they change df.HP? In Beta 3 it was -2 on block.

If it's positive, and s.MP is positive, what's stopping us from doing his target combo over and over?
 
Is Moonsault + on block? Because wow am I getting away with throwing those out for pressure.

Light one is I'm pretty sure. Medium one I think might be like -1 or 2 on block.

The real risk of throwing it out is it can be anit-aires easily. But using it sparingly it's fantastic.

I think in beta 3 is when they added that stupid TC; the TC version actually had different properties and was negative, but the normal version went from -1 to +1 (in that same beta no less, which made the TC especially dumb).
 
Still no idea what to do against Cammy as Vega.

It's the only matchup I've ran into so far where it feels like I'm always at a disadvantage no matter what I do.

Pretty easy for Vega I feel. Cammy has great AA so don't ever jump on her. Vega wins on the ground and has better oki than Cammy when you do get a kd. Cammys offense isn't very scary and Vega has a great vreversal. Up close always be ready to anti air with airthrow.

Yup. Nash is the best.

I think in beta 3 is when they added that stupid TC; the TC version actually had different properties and was negative, but the normal version went from -1 to +1 (in that same beta no less, which made the TC especially dumb).
It combos on counterhit, it's supposed to be a max footsies punish.

Too bad Bison sucks at footsies.

Dunno but bare hand lost some links and command throw seems slower so he's boring and claw on feels weak. Anti airs aren't working or trading :(

Wall dive feels worse/slower.

Rolling attack feels worse.

I can't play aggressive like I want.

Don't ask me about the TC, shit is dumb. My dream would be to make shadow axe +1 on block like psycho axe. If the dude isn't going to get an overhead or a command grab he should be able to maul harder in the corner.

Honestly, just start playing with df.HP in the neutral. It eats too much to be timid about throwing it out in my opinion.

Time to call it quits. Was doing pretty good on an XB1 controller until it died during a Ryu match. I think it's a sign to move back to Tomb Raider.

This game isn't too bad to play on a controller, I still wish I was back home to play on my arcade sticks. :( My wife is getting kind of crazy with gluing seashells to everything. I hope when I get home in 2 months I don't come back to a surprise.

I'm not going to stress about Bison til release. I find I can hang with high ranked people atm and have the most trouble against random idiots lol.

A lot of my issue is unlearning SF 4 Bison.
I feel bad about my latest victory. I somehow managed to abuse Scissor Kicks with Bison and completely crushed my opponent's Zagief.

Don't feel bad, he should've SPD'd you into oblivion.

That, again, depends on the game. Even so, looking at just who is "top 5" or whatever is an extremely simplistic view on character quality. What really matters isn't some arbitrary tier list cutoff point, but whether each character is still competitive and the individual match ups are relatively close.

I know, which is why I felt bad. As soon as I noticed he wasn't punishing me for it I kept doing it non stop. I was expecting him to do something instead of just letting me have my way throughout the match.

I'm becoming increasingly concerned because he has only gone downhill from Beta 1, and none of his problems have been addressed. If Capcom "got it", I'd like to think that we would see changes. Instead we have more point nerfs "balanced" by V-Trigger buffs no one asked for.

Personally, I'm just miffed that this beta has been going for 3 days, and I don't even give a shit about playing because the game doesn't have a character that excites me. That's a really bad place for Capcom to be in, from my perspective. I know LOTS of other people are having fun, but I'm bored and annoyed.

The characters without anti-airs are all zoners =/= all of the zoners don't have anti-airs. The inverse of a statement is not truth-retaining.

Go for jump-in cross-ups. You have to play footsies until Bison either whiffs a Scissor Kick, or you get to the cross-up range.
