Nintendo Q3 FY 2015 Earnings Release

Dem financials man.

Q3 ¥33.5 Billion Operating Income

Q3 ¥29.1 Billion Net Income

Edit: May I remind people that the earnings document is for 9 months (software, amiibo) and not solely q3, you have to subtract h1 earnings.

Yeah but still, they're up overall on last year :p

WSJ are already starting their doom story about it being down on Q3 last year haha

mario kart wii (wii): 35.53m
mario kart ds (ds): 23.56m
mario kart 7 (3ds): 11.42m
mario kart 64 (n64): 9.87m
super mario kart (snes): 8.76m
mario kart 8 (wii u): 7.24m
mario kart double dash (gc): 6.88m
mario kart super circuit (gba): 5.91m
These are all great games. I'm glad to see not even a trainwreck console can stop Mario Kart :P

Smash 3DS is almost at 8 million. Ice Climbers had to die guys. THEY HAD TO.

That's a crazy attach rate for Mario Kart 8, but then again it's one of the best games on the system and of this gen so far. I wouldn't be surprised if they try to give it more legs and put the ultimate edition on the NX.

Triforce Heroes seeling over a million is surprising. AC HHD selling nearly 3 mil is less surprising. I hope we get more AC spin-offs that go in more interesting directions.

I know 😃 but still important info as there's nothing in the op pertaining to that

Nine months ended December 31, 2015 Software Revenue: 185.410 billion yen
Of which digital: 30.5 billion yen
Digital shares: 16.4%

Nine months ended Dec. 31, 2014 Software Revenue: 207.128 billion yen
Of which digital: 21.1 billion yen
Digital share: 10.1%

It makes sense for their 2015 Q3 sales to be down on 2014 Q3 sales though, yet people will call doom

2014 had Smash and amiibo all new, as well as new Pokémon and more
2015 had Mario Tennis

Context is key and if places post doom articles without said context, I'm going to get grumpy :p

I hope MK8 manages to reach Super Mario Kart numbers before NX drops.

Their digital has been growing hand over fist with each subsequent report.

Just surprised at Tri-Force Heroes sneaking past a mil. Those Amiibo and Splatoon numbers are incredible however! Need my poor chat to understand the MK8 numbers though.

Yeah when people ignore context it gets annoying

Still though glad Splatoon did great and Yoshi too

Agreed, especially in comparison to Wii U.

Yeah it's in line with GB and GBA, but GBA was killed off quickly and GB's ratio is not something that should be aimed for. DS set an unprecedented standard but still with how great the drop off DS --> 3DS has been, software suffered as well.

Now im waiting for the next AC main game on NX... They can add spinoff type expansions to that game over the years.

I'm really hyped for a new AC.

Nintendo overall managed to achieve some decent numbers here and there, especially on Wii U despite the small userbase. Hanging there as tight as they can, props to Nintendo.

They don't count digital-only titles in their software reports. Keep that in mind for these comparisons. Nintendo's software only reports on packaged goods and digital versions of packaged goods.

any Xenoblade numbers?

Should be 400k<x<500k.

Splatoon is a pretty good game no?

with a lot of shitty Western players lol

These numbers look really good across the board. Interesting that both Project Robot and Guard are still a thing. Wonder how those will end up?

Hardware and software sales.

Just imagine what these numbers would be if they had a larger install base on the Wii U. Hopefully NX plays out better for them. I like seeing good Nintendo games succeed.

YES. I was very happy to see that, it's well deserved. Good Feel did an absolutely fantastic job on Woolly World and I sincerely hope they get to keep the reigns of the Yoshi series from now on instead of Artoon/Arzest.
Wooly world is, indeed, awesome. Heard muted good things but going in I found it much better than I'd been led to believe. Huge step up from Eoic Yarn and huge step up from recent Yoshi games. Looking forward to next Good Feel game.
