well yeah, no one is.

its hard to put into words, just looks not very good, very cringey in general

YouTube comments on it are really funny to read though

actually really surprised so much of this thread seems positive
we typically have a bit better taste here
Why do a few gaffers think their preference or opinion has so much worth. What a cringeworthy statement.

Anyone think Clint's son in the movie will play a major role? Would be pretty badass if he ends up being Nightwing at the end of the movie as undercover (thought I'd prefer him to have black hair...), working with Katana. Also based on the last trailer, Rope guy might survive more than the first 15 minutes of the movie. Gaf should make a betting thread to guess which minute he will die, because there's no way he doesn't die first. Based on the views these last two trailers, it looks like Harley, Joker and Will Smith might pull some nice numbers. Don't know if it will be GOTG good financially though. Maybe they don't spoil the entire movie in the last trailer like BvS, but hoping they learn from their DC friends. I'll be skipping it either way, just hoping that people don't spoil everything in the trailer like the BvS trailer which splattered everywhere. :\

lol you really think that.

Here's how I feel on it, because based on what people are saying, it isn't Dick as Nightwing. It'd be Dick as Agent Grayson.
Batman should have insulted Supes' singing ability, and then they should have a sing-off.

Agent Grayson would be a hell of a thing.

Skipping Nightwing, though? I can't do it.
Would make sense in the context of the DCCU, once all the crazy heroics and stuff start he can become lighthearted Nightwing.
Sure, but I don't think it does make sense. Let's say that Jason Todd is dead. Obviously no Tim or Damien that we know of. Which means Dick left the nest so to speak. So, if Dick left, then why would he be undercover now? He'd go an be Nightwing, wouldn't he? And part of him just being Grayson is that the world thinks Nightwing is dead. Nightwing can't just disappear.

Granted, they could skip Nightwing entirely and just have him go be a cop and then eventually an agent for some organization. I think skipping Nightwing is a huge disservice though, and I guess I don't see a way to go back to Nightwing after just being an agent, depending on the organization he's with.

I think the movie cannot afford the clear distinctions between Agent Grayson and Nightwing that the comics have.

If we accept that Agent Grayson is what Dick chooses to be after Bruce's bitterness eventually drives him away, I think there is a clear path to his return.

I can easily see a minor conflict in the solo movies being Grayson's return to being Nightwing and eventually inheriting the cowl.

can't say the trailer looked very good. the only character to show any personality in the trailer was harley quinn, and pretty much every line she had fell flat so that does not fill me with confidence when it comes to the rest of the film. i imagine leto's joker will be good, but considering that pretty much every joker put on film so far has been memorable (most of all cesar romero and his legendary mustache), it seems that you would have to totally fuck up not to produce a decent joker.

I don't think the lack of character is a fair criticism; most of them didn't even get any lines. Boomerang managed to do quite a bit despite that, though.

We're just lucky Joker was absent in the Schumacher films. Now there's more awareness as to what works and what doesn't in these movies. It's become a role of prestige over the years following Nicholson, now only the best efforts will do.

The Schumacher films are direct sequels of the Burton films, so the Joker is dead in them. However, Jack Nicholson was set to reappear as a hallucination of the Joker, created by the Scarecrow in Batman's mind, in the cancelled fifth entry Batman Triumphant.

Well this is technically the first trailer, so I think is is okay that we do not know much about the characters yet.

I am sure that we will get much more revealing character moments much closer to the release.

First quick glance at this image

Just noticed the colors look to be making a heart around them.

I'm actually a little embarrassed for the Harley actress based on the two lines she attempted to deliver in the trailer. Yikes, this is going to be a disaster.

In David Ayer we trust. As much as I was a marvel guy growing up, there's something special about the DC movies when done right. It's tough to explain, but they feel a lot more cinematic. I'm really looking forward to Ayers gritty approach...

Do people who say shit like this actually believe it when they spout nonsense like this?

I'm glad you're excited for the movie, StaticJam, but try not to dismiss someone's opinion as spouting nonsense just because it's different than yours. Those lines were flat as a board. She failed at invoking Harley to me even slightly. So yes, I actually believe it. I literally put my face in my hands both times she spoke in the trailer and it was actually difficult to continue watching it.

Killer Croc, Firefly, El Diablo, etc... I loved Christopher Nolan's trilogy for what it was but the great thing about moving away from a more "grounded" universe is you get to explore the more fantastical side Batman's rogues gallery. I can't wait to see who else we see down the line.

Please don't die, Croc. ;_; If you have to, throw Rope Man under the bus. I need more recurring bat villains in my life.

He must die so we get King Shark for the next movie.

Or introduce him in the sequel, where he stares down at Croc and eats him in a couple of seconds.

I never understood this because I can see the more fantastical rogues working in the grounded universe as long as they make the science and logic work within that universe.

One of the reasons I LOVE Man of Steel (avoids rocks), and I'm VERY cautious of Batman v Superman, is because of the change in cinematographers and clear shift AWAY from the grounded approach.

After The Dark Knight Rises, I was genuinely curious as to what Ryan Reynold's Green Lantern would look feel like in the Nolanverse. After MoS, I could easily see THAT Superman interact with the Nolanverse Batman. I still don't get why this is something that doesn't work for most people. Suicide Squad is looking like it's still leaning towards Nolanverse - which is awesome to me.

Suicide Squad might appear closer to Nolanverse only because it features mostly street level characters. Nolanverse had no powers, no creatures like Croc either (not counting Gotham Knight.) Enchantress, Diablo, and Croc would not exist in Nolanverse as they do in Suicide Squad. They'd all be nerfed to reality somehow like Ra's and Bane.

Cav-El and Baleman don't mix. I think that'll become clearer after people see how strong the new Batman is.

That's part of it, but the other part is the cinematography. MoS found that fine line, similar to War of The Worlds where it worked and felt more real. BvS is already scaring me because they got rid of the MoS cinematographer and got Snyder's Sucker Punch/300 guy which is a BAD idea imo.

Also regarding powers, the possibility of seeing how they might've made the powers work in that world was thrilling. Nolan was a master of selling a movie's internal logic and grounding it in enough trek-fu to sell it. Like I said, after MoS, I believe it.

Sounds like you should be reaching your hands to pull that stick out of your ass instead. If you actually had difficultly watching the trailer because of lines of dialogue that aren't offensive at all, then the problem is you.

We'll just have to agree to disagree on Snyder going back to his cinematographer. You're the first person i've seen that doesn't welcome that change.

Cool. They used that song from Waynes World.
Of course I know who Joker and Harley are, but I dont know the other characters. Will be an interesting movie.

I was watching this again but noticed YouTube is filled with people recording their reaction. Wtf is that about. Why do I want to watch your stupid reaction to a trailer.

Still amazing trailer!
Please don't say the r word and get us sued
