Shinobido 2: Revenge of Zen (Vita) Has Been Delisted (NA & EU PSN Stores)

Shinobido 2: Revenge of Zen was a Vita launch title in Japan, Europe and North America. It was published by Bandai Namco in the West and Spike (Chunsoft) in Japan.

It's been noted that the game has been removed from both european and american PSN stores, but not from the japanese PSN store, meaning it has probably something to do with Namco's license expiring, as the game is about to turn four years old in a week.

You might still find physical copies for sale, although you can expect prices to rise after this.

I was meaning to grab a copy of this for a while. Guess now is a good time. Wanted to import the eu only release way back when it came out on ps2 but it was 50hz only.

Tried the demo a while back when this was on sale. Couldn't get past the tutorial because of some kind of bug preventing me from doing a required move.

So I passed up the sale.

Man, just bought a physical copy that I saw for $12 -- yay me! I was thinking about waiting to see if it went on sale on PSN, I never even considered it would be delisted.

damn picked this up purely on a whim as I only had Tearaway for the vita
ended up downloading persona 4 and trading this back in instead :/

regret not holding onto it now, from what i remember it seemed like a fun
call back to tenchu, nothing groundbreaking mind you although maybe i didnt
give it a decent enough chance

Ah shit, the DLC's also gone. I was waiting for a sale that'll never happen. :'(

Absolutely loved this game though. Could have done with some more environments maybe, but I had a blast. Still looks really good too.

This is one of the first games I picked up when I bought my Vita. I enjoyed it, but I felt that the PSP Shinobido was superior in many ways. Additionally, the lack of PSTV support kind of sucks.

I was hoping for an eventual patch to play on PSTV, but this isn't very promising. :/

Had my fun with it, though I never grabbed the DLC. Should have grabbed it in the past but heh, whatever.
Would have been cool to get a warning before the de-listing though. Might have gone and grabbed stuff before ti disappeared.

I meant to buy this game ages ago, and never got around to it. Just bought it from Amazon. No DLC, but that's ok!

I always loved the Tenchu games, and the demo of this game reminded me of it, so I wanted to snag it. It should arrive in the mail next week!

I hate when companies don't give a heads-up before delisting, specially when it comes to DD-only titles. I'm glad I got Fate/unlimited codes a few years ago since Capcom gave people both a discount and a warning before delisting it.

I don't know if GameStop or Amazon sold codes for this one, but that could be the last shot at people that wanted a digital copy for this game.

The thing I don't like is that more and more games will be digital-only in the future and without physical media, some will be impossible to purchase after just a couple of years.

Maybe not the biggest loss and it is available elsewhere but the Vita version of Plants vs. Zombies disappeared from the store after just two years and any new Vita owner after that point didn't even have a chance to buy it as it was digital-only. Some day it will happen to an important game.

Digital is an awesome way of preserving gaming history but the disappearance of physical media will lead to the loss of parts of it too.

Ah yes, I have a copy of this. A great game? No, but I actually thought it was still a decent Tenchu replacement. It also has pristine image quality for a Vita title.

Totally forgot about Plants Vs Zombies getting delisted. That was my first time playing it and I liked it a ton... from what I'd read and watched it was apparently the most complete version of the game, too.

It's too bad it was digital only.

Bought it two weeks ago for €17,00 with shipping, and I was actually looking at buying the DLC last week, but I wanted to clear the main story first and earn some trophies. Like Briarios mentioned, it didn't even cross my mind that this game and its DLC could be delisted. I really, REALLY hope I'm not missing out on a lot without the DLC.

I got that together with my Vita back in the day. Got the Vita for a very good price off ebay Got the Vita, 16GB memcard and 3 games for 210 euros back when the vita was still 250 alone. That was a great deal. The 3 games were all Namco games so that person must have won the Vita in some kind of Namco giveaway/contest and instantly put it on ebay.

Anyway, the game was okay. Had my fun with it for a while before I got Gravity Rush.
I remember that you could unlock to play as
a bear
. That was neat.

Pulling things off the PSN store completely without a warning is kind of shitty though.

Any chance that this was only delisted due to a security exploit, and would come back after a patch, like the 3DS' Ironfall? Really want the DLC, if only for FOMO...

There is no exploit related to the game and the licensing is 99% the one at fault in this case.

Dat Digital future.

Hope it comes back, t'was a fun game. Also ninja bears. But otherwise that is one can expect in an all digital future when we'd just see games randomly dropping and unobtainable

The game is really fun, btw. I bought a physical copy a few months ago for €9 and I'm 25 hours in right now (those two fucking RNG missions).
It has a lot of depth that you might not even notice on a casual playthrough and plenty of silly mgs-esque gadgetry. If you like the genre you're gonna like it.

I think that I purchased it digitally (PvZ too) but since it was delisted is there any way to search for the download link without going through the entire download list?

Played through this near release, reminded me of Tenchu (minus some of the gore).

Be sure not to get into fight with any bears though! I remember one of the missions I had about 7 chasing me around :D
