Why even make the restriction in the first place, then?
I kept a clean / celibate second save in Awakening where everyone has A supports with everyone but nobody has S supports so I could see all the possible combinations and endings.
It got complicated with the future children... but I'll try to do it again in Birthright.

The discussions on this were so embarassing and confusing. Im still amazed at how crazy people can be but at least they (hopefully) have the full story now. I've played the game and some people sounded as part of some imaginary angry mob over this.

IDGAF to be honest. Still more mad about it being like 3 seperate games at $80 but I'm probably a minority on this.

There is a reasonable arguement to be said about "editing" and how it can produce a better product.
On the other hand. This makes for great free publicity.
But what if there weren't any new preorders made in the first place??

I think the ship sailed on the SE long before the first news of the changes came out.

The reverse salt is going to be insane. Nobody had S supported yet so nobody knew for sure. Not like this will actually be controversial. I already said the game would probaby receive a (very hard) T regardless.

Post-Iwata, Nintendo's PR has been awful. All we get are middle-men and drip-drip-drip of small announcements. It's led to a lot of confusion.

I cancelled my special edition preorder. I think I'm just going to wait until the game is out and we get a clear picture of what was changed before I make a final decision on US or Japanese copy.
That said, Kotaku continues to be a complete joke.

Well they could of saved a lot of people some trouble had they announced this from the beginning instead of a week before release.
I never understood why this was even controversial in the first place. Seems like a stupid thing you'd joke about rather than find creepy ¯\_(ツ_/¯

Hell I'm getting the game regardless and I might sell my preorder. Game paid for+ $100 is awfully tempting.
The overreaction to this, on both sides, has been and still is utterly ridiculous. It's also hysterical.
I for one think the face-petting is odd but it's not a big deal. Nobody should be deciding whether to buy or not buy this game based on something this miniscule. It's quite unfortunate that we let this miniscule thing create such emotion.
I'll enjoy the game and happily ignore this optional content while others won't and that's fine. I think we can agree that's an okay opinion.

I don't think this is a matter of listening. I don't think they're patching pre-release code here. Whatever state it's in now is most likely how it's been this whole time and everything else is just the result of misunderstandings and/or miscommunication.

Yeah, I ordered the SE so I can't complain about the games splitting into three. Also I'm kinda pissed for everyone else who can't buy one game at launch with all three games on it. But you can still buy it as DLC, so whatever...

I'm sorry but that's the image rubbing people's face like they were pets puts in my head. Normal well adjusted people don't go around rubbing other people's faces.
Most of it was still in to begin with, they just had removed the petting part. Unless I misunderstood, you could already have the private meetings/dialogue with the Life2D assets, you just didn't need (or get) to pet them anymore.
If my avatar can turn into some furry ass dragon thing then you bet your ass I will use my fictional avatar hands to rub a fictional character's face.
Videogames don't have to be grounded in reality, otherwise I can impress and bed anyone I want by shoving gifts up their ass within 5 seconds. That actually may be grounded in reality though.
