The New Hampshire Primary |Feb 9|: Live Free or Die

Bernie literally could only tie with Democrats in NH and only won because of Independents.

That is the most skull crushing information possible. If he couldn't win NH Democrats convincingly he has zero chance elsewhere. And most states don't have open primaries where Independents can vote.
???

So he is doomed... because swing voters like him more than Hillary... I see

It was known he would win, the question was by how much. Despite all of the "blowout" posts this is actually pretty middle of the road so far: if he won by 10% she was looking good, if he won by 30% it meant he was a serious threat, the current 18% number just says to me that we have a long way to go still

Exactly.

More interesting, the polling data was extremely accurate. So much for the theory that there may be a disconnect between the data and actual polling.

Get used to seeing Trump, everyone. He's the candidate*

*Barring RNC intervention.

This is the politically correct answer, it's not wrong to admit that large portions of the voter base are wary to vote for candidates, not because of a legitimate disagreement for their policies, but out of ignorance, complacency, superficial wariness, and misconceptions about their opponents.
Which isn't the say the reverse isn't the case because I know black people who aren't voting for Bernie because they have policy disagreements, but to act like the reverse of that isn't a factor just because you don't want to make claims about a minority voter base is just ridiculous, especially if you're willing to do it for white voters which I know people on here are willing to do.
Bernie speaks out against private prisons while his opponent takes money from them, he wants to remove Marijuana from being schedule 1 drugs, he wants to make it so people dying in police custody automatically triggers a federal investigation, he wants to get rid of voting laws that specifically target minorities, and he wants to implement economic policies that inherently benefit all American's regardless of race, and if black people aren't voting for Bernie because he focuses on economics than they probably shouldn't be voting at all, especially if they think Clinton is any better on it, or maybe that's my bias as a black Bernie voter/occasional volunteer speaking.
What brilliant idea do you have in regards to fixing racial inequality that Bernie should be proposing?

A 20-point win for Sanders is sorta an average result. No real statement either way.

This is pretty close to maximum drama/chaos for the GOP. Only thing that could make it more hectic would be Christie beating Rubio. Worth a mention that the Establishment vote combined (~48%) almost precisely equals the "outsider" block (~52%). That's a sign of significant long-term drama.

If the RNC intervenes it would basically mean the end of the party. We'd have Democrat gains the likes of which haven't been seen in generations.

Would be interesting if Kasich turned some establishment heads. Having someone from Ohio can be instrumental in a victory.

Don't they hate him in Ohio? Sort of like how Cristie wouldn't turn NJ red because they despise him.

Yeah, I'm gonna have to call bullshit on that.

The party would implode, but it wouldn't be THAT bad.

No shit guys of course Clinton looks old, the man is coming up on 70 and went through 2 terms. Imagine what Obama might look like in 20 years.

Not with Hillary as the candidate. Conservatives voters will turn out en masse to vote against her no matter what the GOP does.

Might do the same against the Socialist Commie, but I don't think there'll ever be the same level of vitriol. Not enough history.

Bernie Sanders becomes the first Jewish-American presidential candidate to win a state, or did Lieberman do it in 2000? Anyway, good on him, this outcome on both sides was probably the best possible one.

Sanders beating Clinton among all women by 11%. Wow.

That's... a pretty wide margin. Hillary does do well among older female voters, however.

Holy fuck.

This patronizing bullshit is exactly why minorities prefer Hillary over Bernie.

The Politically Correct answer? Get the fuck out.

Fucking This.

Let me spell this out for that particular junior member.

Minorities have had white politicians floating in promising them the moon since before the civil rights era, and the vast majority of said politicians are full of shit. Naturally, minority voters- especially black voters- are extremely skeptical whenever a politician says anything. Clinton gets a free pass because not only was her Husband an extremely well liked president by the black community, but she worked within the Obama administration and is widely viewed as obama's preferred candidate.

Speaking of Obama, Black Voters were skeptical of HIM as well and backed Clinton right up until Obama proved he wasn't Jesse Jackson 2.0 by getting white voters to carry him to victory in Iowa.

Bernie's entire rhetoric of "dismantle the banks", "free college", "revamp the tax structure", etc etc has been met with a resounding "oh yeah? how?" from every single minority voter I can think of, and there is not one single valid explanation as to how any of what bernie wants to do gets past a republican congress.

Until he manages to prove he's more than just talk, he's going to strike out with minorities as he has been for months. As it is, Bernie's rhetoric isn't any more realistic than Trump claiming to put up walls to keep out mexicans.

On the other hand, doesn't this make a bad case for Hillary being the stronger GE candidate? She obviously has trouble getting support outside registered democrats. Could be a bad matchup against Trump who, for whatever reason, seems to have solid support outside the typical GOP base.
