Mostly the crying and the strange decision to link her to a martyred Filipino nationalist author. The 'Filipino' elements of her design are also rather shallow, and suggest little understanding of the culture beyond what the Filipino flag looks like. Whoever designed Josie doesn't even seem to know enough about the Philippines to form a stereotype.

The story art is shockingly bad. I thought IV had issues. It's not great for Bengus either who has some great stuff. Can't defend how bad it is... I don't think there's really any excuse. A fan artist could've done better and have been cheaper. Sure you lose the status of Bengus but if the quality was evidently poor, why carry on? A real shame. Wonder if Udon expressed interest (not that I love them either but it's better than this).
Anyway, still psyched for the game, terrible story art aside.

It's a perfectly fine choice. The only difference is that it doesn't have sanwa parts, and I'm not sure how much that matters outside of simply personal preference and what people are used to. I don't think Hori's parts are all that inferior, they just feel a little different
worst case scenario, you can always just change the buttons down the road

Ya it's a horrible voice, one of the worst miscasts I've heard. Her Japanese voice isn't much better, but still more bearable than hearing english laura's recovery noise constantly.

No. Canonically, SFV takes place before SF3. Alex is a grappler/wrestler, Ryu studies under a different art.

I think he's talking like an 8 match ladder where you fight a boss at the end. No idea why they didn't include that.

Here's the screenshots for Alex's SFIII 3rd Strike ending. I never really thought about it as Ryu teaching Alex the ways of Ansatsuken, more like the two of them dueling a lot. But, even if you take it as Ryu teaching Alex: Street Fighter 3 takes place after Street Fighter V, so Alex would not be able to use any techniques that he was taught by Ryu.

Not training just to fight, Alex pursued him since Ryu is quite legendary by that point. If you're into street fighter lore you should read Ryu's final it's a interesting take on providing an ending after 3s. The author ideas have been used in games like Karin,evil ryu and even Ryu's focus attack animation is from there.

I'm switching to all Japanese voices immediately. Not all of the English VA is horrible, but the fact that they came up with really bad lines to make it match the character animations/lip sync makes it really really hard to listen to. "Grapp-ling buds" is too much.
