The Division Beta Thread: Make Manhattan Great Again

So I have been in my own bubble about this game. I played the beta a couple weeks ago and thought it was one of the best experiences I have gaming in a very long time. I wanted to see if there are any potential negatives or worries about it? I thought he dark zone rouge mechanics got a little silly (hoping changes are made) and I wonder how long the dark zone will stay interesting but damn I had a blast regardless.

GT: xGranadier

I'll be rushing 8 and then heading into the DZ to throw grenades at extractions.

I just got a caffeine high.

Perfect, best of both worlds

This weekend can't come soon enough.

And i must really really force myself not to thing to how much time i'l have to wait to paly the finished game.

We know that the first DLC will definitely add more underground areas.

Apart from that we have heard nothing about any added landmass.

That sounds promising.

How is this area small?

After playing the beta for less than a day I felt like I already fully explored the dark zone (unless there are more zones) and I was hoping for a bigger DZ area because it was so good.

I'm this close to going with the Gold Edition, but I can't get myself to pull the trigger.

I know Massive is completely separate from Ubi's other studios, but their past season passes have been absolutely worthless. The descriptions for the expansions don't fill me with me with confidence either, especially when there's a whole content slot dedicated to horde mode, as if we're back in last-gen.

I think it's one of the smaller parks.

The map ends right before the south edge of central park.
Dunno, there's not many parks that look like that. Bryant park in game doesn't look like that.

Central Park is a no brainer dlc idea. Would be so fresh after being in grid pattern city for so long

That sounds promising.

Its not all that small. Total map is around Fallout 4 size, but much more content complete. Much more.

Well to me its seems to be a mix of Sieges model and usual season passes.
Free map updates + some game modes and other stuff for DLC

That sounds promising.

you are aware the beta area was like 1/6 of the actual map,if at all?

That sounds promising.

Well, the DZ expands upwards and gets higher and higher level requirements. The later stuff would eventually be the lvl 30 zones.

The above video is a cool examination of the size of the map compared to other games. Also gives an idea of scale as you roam around.

Keep checking PSN Europe :/ ......come on man. Need a decent head start with my pathetic broadband speed.

PSN speeds in general is pathetic.
However you can make a US account and download it right now :) If not it should open tomorrow during store update (I think its wed they do it).

I believe Central Park will be dlc, and I think parts of Brooklyn will be too. The difference is they will need somewhat of a load screen between Manhattan and Brooklyn. I could see them segmenting the map, meaning you take a ferry to Brooklyn and that's it's whole new thing. It would be a Taken King like expansion.

Only because they already built parts of Brooklyn and showed it in old gameplay

You are most likely right. Which is exciting.

"Underground" will probably be in the subways or sewers. "Survival" could easily be the Central Park area. "Last Stand" could then be Brooklyn.

I am 99% sure the game actually starts in Brooklyn and that's where the tutorial/prologue is that will bring you to lvl 4,introduce you to Faye Lau and the "commander" who dies and show the explosion that knocks you out and cripples Faye

Im quite hyped for the Survival thing tbh.

Usually love those things if done correctly :)

Halo ODST anyone?
Yeah, any game with solid combat mechanics usually excels in horde unless the devs go out of their way to muck up the difficulty curve somehow.

I imagine loot will be awarded end of round, not requiring extract. Same with the raid, I highly doubt they'll allow raid loot to be stolen.

Great way to test your builds and co-op coordination having an overwhelming wave of death rushing toward you.
