Offline doesn't necessarily mean single player.

That said, you'll be gated out of stuff like new characters, costumes etc if you stay offline. But versus, training and the SP modes are fully functiinal offline.

You're right, in that if/when the server instability is resolved everyone will move. And to some extent, day 1 server issues are really tough to avoid. However, any online focused game that doesn't do heavy, open (not pre-order beta) testing of all of their online related services before release is setting themselves up for this kind of shitstorm and it only makes customers lose faith in the developer and their future products.

Someone mentioned changing Windows' input method editor (keyboard input language) to the desired target language, but that didn't work, nor did changing Steam's interface language. So if the game was working correctly online would everyone still be complaining about the game, or is this just the GAF hype cycle? Everyone seemed unbelievably excited for the game to finally come out knowing full well what would be included in the release.

Seems like you'll earn a good amount of FM if you do the story/survival/daily challenges (assuming those are offline) to be able to earn a good amount of FM for the characters.
 
I actually like the idea of having to play survival to unlock colors (even though survival kind of sucks), makes them more meaningful. But I wonder how that's going to work at tournaments? There's definitely some players that really don't like playing as a color that's not theirs.
 
You end up with 160,000 Fight money, and all characters level 8 from completing all the stories. Which takes about an hour or so for all characters.

Almost enough to buy 2 characters. Not bad. I'm at 100,00 now. Still gonna buy the season pass though and save this FM for season 2.

Not everyone follows pre-release news. Some people buy day one without knowing what will/won't be there and that seems like a less and less optimal thing to do these days.

I can see people's issue with the servers being borked right now. But capcom didn't shy away from telling us what is coming later.

But yea if people have issue that haven't bought the game yet. Just wait

There's no arguing the game will have a great competitive future but I see the outlook from a standard consumers perspective.

Any game that has these sorts of issues I nope the fuck away from. I'll buy it used somewhere down the line for $20. Because it's SF it gets a pass from me and I'm a sucker.

The 1200 people that will enter EVO and the 150k people that will watch it aren't going to keep capcom out of the red.

Mine wasn't there for me last night, but was when I played briefly this morning. IDK if it was some other update that installed (nothing new in my download list), or from getting signed into the server this morning when I couldn't last night or what.

People are salty because of day 1 server issues, which Capcom is actively working on.

Once they iron those out (which they will), things will begin looking upward.
 
those "story modes" (arent they actually called prologues?) would be neat if the supposed june main big story mode existed, because at least judging from FANG's, its just a little "this is how FANG joined Shadowloo" scene. I assume the rest are basically all introductory like this?

Oh yeah, the state of the servers is a problem, no doubt. In terms of not much to do day one, I imagine most people will have moved on by the time Alex comes out.

Yeah survival mode is broken. Locking alt colors behind means most people won't get access to them. Having to repeat it all over with alt costumes is especially ridiculous. I really hope they're unlockables with fight money.
 
Survival Mode is such a damn grind for colors. They really want people to spend fight money on that. I can't imagine doing Hell mode for every single character.
 
Do we know if we can use FM on costumes? I already bought the Season Pass so characters will be unlocked for me. Would be nice to use it on outfits

Hell only gets you a title and some fight money. Colours are locked behind easy, normal and hard.

Hell doesnt unlock colors
 
So if you beat story mode with all characters can you keep doing it over and over for more fight money? Can you keep playing survival mode over and over for fight money? Or will you only be able to earn fight money from ranked matches?

If I understand correctly, the season pass covers the 6 new characters and their premium costumes. I'd think there will be a premium costume for every character to purchase with FM/Zenny. I would also not be suprised if the same goes for colors.

I went to control panel, Language, then switched my Time and Date Settings to English and that was enough to change my game from Spanish. Didn't even need to reboot. :)

Ok sweet. That would be great if I can just use my FM towards more outfits because I'm a sucker for that stuff. I'll probably be buying everyone's alt's lol
 
Loving the game so far, though, it's taking me time to adjust to vtriggers. I find myself not using them when I should.

If anyone has a spare beard ryu costume for PS4 they don't want, please let me know :)
 
I'm still surprised when people don't expect day 1 server issues with an online game. Like you don't know that's the shit that happens by this point?

Being upset with how barebones the game is I can understand though.
