-96 points for a loss, that is like 4 wins at this point.

I want the gold league trophy, but this is stupid.

I know before Bronze it was roughly +65LP for a win and -24LP for a loss.

Anywhere got a breakdown of point earning and losses by league? From posts like yours and others it changes by league.

My friend has put up around 10-20h in USF4 and kept getting frustrated because he says he sucks. He bought sfv and a 200$ stick but everytime he plays he gets discouraged and tells himself he sucks and that all the time he spends in training is useless. I try to teach him new stuff, but the problem is that IMO his fundamentals are pretty bad. He watched and read all of those begginers start videos but it doesn't looks like its helping him...

You guys have any good tips I could give him? I try to help but im not that good either so it's hard :/

I told him to start with Ryu to learn the bases

Footsies, etc

Showoff.

Does anyone else hate how you can't pick the music to use in training? I just want to jam out to RAAAASHIIIIDOOOOO.

It changes by league and also league differential. Once you get to super bronze you start losing roughly the same as you win, so +/- 65LP if you're in the same league. You get more points if your opponent is a higher rank and less if your opponent is in a lower rank. The inverse is true for losses, you lose less points if your opponent is a higher rank and lose more points if your opponent is a lower rank.

Am I the only one here for whom lounges aren't working at all? If I try to join a lounge, I'm told it's full (or I get a FAIL TO JOIN/Disconnect message). If someone tries to join my lounge, they're told it's full too.

What the heck.

Is this your first fighting game period, Madridista?
No, not at all. I have been playing since the Tekken 2 days. Played Soul Calibur, Virtua Fighter 5, Dead or Alive and Mortal Kombat.

But I have never been serious about getting into any fighter until Tekken Tag Tournament 2. The community there are very helpful to me, just like this community is.

This is the first time I'm really getting into a Street Fighter game though.

Go into training room with him and do execution drills. 10 uppercut on each side, 10 supers, 10 whatever.

Watch replays to figure out why he lost and address weaknesses.

Use the record function in the training room to practice against problematic moves.

you are not

Got my fightstick yesterday and have been practicing with it. It's really different but executing moves and combos feels reaaally good on this thing.

Getting bodied online with it but I'm learning.

Me too.

I had a SF game on the SNES when I was really young and that's about it. Got into USF4 later last year lol, now V.

Road is tough but I love SF. Coming form an MK and Tekken background I'm struggling hehe

Grrrrrr, win streak undone by goddamn lag again when the it said the connection was perfect beforehand.

Enjoying it otherwise, got some good matches in today and I'm almost at super bronze - need to figure out some more combos for Vega, though. Relying too much on the flying attack.

You two couldn't be more wrong about Waluigi and the notion of F.A.N.G being one of the worst new additions.

In fact, it's baffling to me how one would prefer virtually newcomer from IV, DeeJay, T. Hawk, multiple Alpha misfits and schoolgirls over F.A.N.G but hey!

I agree completely with you. Waluigi is the best, F.A.N.G. is the best, and I hope Dee Jay is relegated to stage background character as long as Street Fighter games are made.

I'm feeling like Street Fighter V clicked with me straight away. And I couldn't get into Street Fighter IV at all, so never got more than 2 online matches max in that one. I just love learning and practicing with one character that really speaks to me, which is Charlie Nash. I really hope I can get good at using the counter crushes, so I can steal meters.

Maybe you need to check NAT or port forwarding on your router?

Or maybe the servers are still wack.

Keep in mind that the rookie players are generating points (receive more points than they lose), which means there will be more points to earn and therefore make ranking up easier. However, over time players will be getting better, making it harder to rank up. But I think the former will outpace the latter.

Bleh. I'm from the UK and still not getting any matches on either PS4 or PC (double dipped).

works perfectly fine in Germany (PC), been plating for two hours straight

I've sent you like 8 invites >_>

DeeJay feels like an outdated character imo. He's like a relic from the 90's, a representation of Jamacians created by someone who's never been to Jamacia, but instead watched Cool Runnings.

Awesome writeup Secret Character! G I E F B O Y S

You can use it after cr. jab and it pushes you just far enough that if your opponent is mashing jab it will whiff and you won't get hit by spd.

I think you want to use it like in SF4. Whiff punish bc it's more damaging than jab and faster to come out than st. mk.

This hits high? I'm not sure about that one. Also as a meaty counterhit it combos into jab so use it to get that last bit of life from your opponent if you need pixel damage.

I'll note that you must charge HP for it to have armor. An easy distinction to mistake.

The Air EX also has some invincibility. Not a lot though, so it won't beat an invincible uppercut.

Of note: tapping the two buttons after activation sucks them in with no hits. Holding it suckes them in for the hits. I had no idea EX RBG was effected by the V-trigger! Awesome.

Good stuff here. Wrote all that on my lunch break so I didn't have much time to put everything down.

What's funny is I'm a Dictator main. :)

Noobie here: so what makes Ryu's parry not super broken in the hands of a skilled player who knows the timings inside and out for every matchup?

Clawless:
Cr lk s lp Cr Mp ex roll

Only ex roll combos here. Block strong is true except the s lp can be crouched under. Quite powerful, quite safe. I just started using him last night, but so far be is a lot of fun.

Getting my fight stick tomorrow, anyone in here wants to do some sparring?
Need practice, and all that.

Anyone for some lounge battle? I dont care if you are pro or not. Its nice with practice. Not really that good with the game. I am an OK Karin player, but want to practice fundementals mostly with all characters.

Any UK Players fancy running some games at some point?

I'm no good at the moment but hoping a few solid games will help me get into the swing of things.

I have a stick (however don't let that fool you into thinking I'm decent!)

CFN Name is MagicMikee

I'm down. CFN is Clueless.

I can play some later. I'm in Belgium and also a beginner. CFN is Za_Warudo.
Did you guys send me a PM with your CFN's?
It's more so I can remember to add you when I wake up tomorrow.

if they don't hit you you can get punished hard bc it leaves you in crush counter state

So if they bait the parry...it's clobbering time if they know what they're doing

You can't "know the timings," you have to know precisely when somebody will do something. Full screen projectiles are easy to parry, but knowing when your opponent will do something else is not a thing you always know.

It has startup and recovery. so even if you do parry something, the follow up you get might not be worth the risk to do it.

It leaves you in counter hit state, so if you get miss a parry, you take as much damage as you would a whiffed srk.

I'm getting an itch to buy the game now that my Diablo 3 addiction is wearing off, but I'm on the fence.

I would be buying the game on Steam, so here are my questions:
- How well is the game running on PC so far? Any noteworthy issues?
- Is online working properly?
- How is the game performance-wise? I'm running i5 3570K CPU with an old-ass Radeon HD6850 1GB and 8 gigs of RAM. How screwed am I?
- Anything else I should know before I jump in? Any reasons I absolutely should/should not get the game?

Anyone? Pretty please?
