Street Fighter V |OT| No Options to Select

Really not a fan of how animation frames skip about in lag or how the game will put you against the same people multiple times in a row or how I get matched with people with 20x more points than me.
 
I'm addicted to this game now. Sucks that's I'm gonna have to return it to my friend soonish.

He has no internet and got bored quickly with it lol
 
Okay how do you counter Laura? Just had a match where they would do 2 hits and then instantly into a grab combo finisher thing. Really annoying.

The battles that you fight as him are just prophesied battles I'm pretty sure.
 
I think I'm gonna give up. Nothing wrong with the game, but I gotta up and realize I just can't handle fighting games anymore. It's been a recurring thing from fighter to fighter and these problems I have with myself in these games, for whatever the reason, I can't overcome. This is a lovely OT with lovely people. Keep having fun guys.

The game's installed to my SSD and today my load times are insane. Much, much longer than yesterday. I switched the game to offline mode and the load times were back to normal, so it's likely network related.

Hang in there. You've just gotta put in the practice (some people more than others, but whatever you do don't give up man!)

But what is your actual issue though? Are your moves not coming out? Are you losing?

This goes out to a lot of new players feeling down: if you like fighting games, there's nothing stopping you from getting better but yourself. You live in a golden age. Yes people have years on you, and it's possible you'll lose. A lot, in fact.

But lucky you, SFV doesn't require long combos or having to fight against the game. If you learn your buttons, and play smart, you can take games from people far better than you.

You also have a huge training mode and the wealth of the internet, particularly GAF, at your disposal.

The most important thing for new players is don't take losses to heart. Learn what you did wrong and improve. Pick three things you need to work on, and practice, practice, practice. I'd suggest going to local gaming events if you can, it'll teach you a lot more when you have someone there helping you along the way.
 
So I'm getting COMPLETELY destroyed by Necalli as Rashid. I don't know what to do against him.

Can I please have matches every 20 seconds like Mike Ross is please Capcom? :(
 
I'm gonna assume that anyone that has a lower rank than me but has higher LP is probably a rage quitter. I was on track to messing up two guys like this, and both matches ends halfway through the second round after I beat them well enough on the first. I'm sure there's amazing players out there that are on crazy win streaks, but I think this is a safe assumption.

I'm ranked 46,0XX and started with 250LP today. I have not fought a single person who is even close to my rank. I have not found a single Rookie. It keeps matching me with Super/Ultra Bronze and now I'm getting Silver-Ranked people who are at rank 1026! This isn't fun. I want to have a challenge but this is clearly 5 steps above. This doesn't make me hungry or even want to improve. I'm hoping this is just a side effect of the launch week and that they'll eventually fix the matchmaking cause right now I'm just getting destroyed every match and can't even attempt to have fun with this game.

Also sorry for the bad image, was grabbing it real quick and was a little late.
