Fire Emblem Fates Releases in NA Feb. 19th; $80 Special Edition Announced

I've been looking forward to having a full weekend to play the game for months now too. Not even an email to say it won't arrive on release like was promised when I bought the game either.

Even worse they ship my stuff UPS and it's going to sit at a center down the street from my house for two or three days until Monday when it gets delivered.

If this is how their service is going to be going forward I'm going to take my business elsewhere. Now that amazon has matched the 20% off GCU isn't the be all end all for buying games anymore.

Thanks for the info guys. USPS number still hasn't updated, so I'm going to trust the location Amazon gave and hope it gets there tomorrow.
 
For those who want to try to go hunting for the chance at an extra copy...which stores are selling the SE? Just Gamestop?
 
OK disappointment GAF, I have a really dumb idea and I'd love some feedback.

There is a 24h Walmart about 10min from my house. So I'm thinking of heading over there at 00:01 and asking the dude or lady at the video-games counter if they have any Special Editions in the back, and could I please have one.
I am assuming the stock people will have not started putting them out, as it is a late hour.

This is my dumb plan, what do you all think?

Birthright and Conquest were stocked at my local walmart. I didnt see the SE in stock.

Anything that "releases" at midnight is kept at one of the front registers. I would call and talk to someone about it. It might be better to just drive there now and see if they have it since it is a short ride from your place. Good luck regardless.
 
Really kicking myself for not preordering when I had the chance. The only place by me that has it in-stock is a Fry's, but they open at 10 and there's no way I'm going to be able to swing going into work over 2 hours late. I guess I'll just have to refresh the webstore like a madman tomorrow :/

Do you know what's going on with online orders that are still processing? I'm Elite so it should be here tomorrow and it's still showing Processing. Late would kinda suck but I can live with it. Getting cancelled would be a disaster.

I'm curious as well. I can live with getting it a week late but if my SE is cancelled I will be really sad.

No I work in the store but u checked other stores and all copies that they received were preorders. There is probably some kind of delay. But I have noticed a tracking number on the order before but order still listed as processing. So make sure you double check.

Given how rare these will be I don't mind so much if it comes Monday. I just want to be sure that my order is safe and sound.
 
If my anecdotal experience is helpful to anyone, I received my special edition from Amazon today, despite Amazon telling me yesterday that it would arrive on Friday. I live in Northern California.

I wish Nintendo had made more of these, as it's disappointing to read how few people who wanted it were able to order it.

It's really depressing when you see how many copies are on ebay going for $200+

are you from canada or in the states? i recall reading that canada walmarts are in fact not getting any se's at all
 
I don't expect walmart to have any special editions at stores. When Smash Bros Wii U came out I went up there at midnight and they didn't even have the gamecube controller adapter.

In all fairness most stores didn't have the gamecube adapter at launch. I do agree though about Walmart. I think they only care about having regular copies for most of their games these days.
 
Played a bit of Awakening and got in on the SE in November. UPS is delivering it and they always come when it's dark out here. Blah. Excited to play.
 
My preordered copy of Birthright STILL hasn't shipped from Amazon and it still says delivering tmrw. Somehow I don't believe you Amazon.

Ok ok, I will put mine up for $199. Just for GAF though.

Seriously though, I did think about selling mine once I got it if it was going for over $200. Figured I could make enough to buy it digitally and have an extra $100 but I just want to play it at this point.

I'm not gonna lie, I was solely tempted to sell mine only because if it's going for that much it'd really help with some bills and car repairs we'd have right now. This was so incredibly limited though it's hard to not just blame Nintendo on this one, the pre-order window on this was so incredibly fucking tiny everywhere.
 
So what if I attempt to go pickup a copy of Birthright tomorrow and then went to use my LE copy later?

Would the save file still work just fine?

It's not that I'm opposed to paying over MSRP for it, because I would rather not have 1/3 of the game be tied to the eShop ans the risks associated with that. I just think that 2.5x the MSRP is fucking ridiculous.

This! But I praise fellow Gaffers that gave the heads up when the preorder went up again at other stores. Without you guys I would of never of got one.

Supply and Demand. Nintendo games tend to do well with the demand side of things with these products.
 
So I take it if one were to try to play Birthright/Conquest chapter by chapter on the SE, they would lose out on the carry-over bonuses like the special classes? Or is it a system data thing?
 
Best Buy says one of mine is ready for pickup. Thought I had it set to ship but that's fine.

Debating calling in late to work tomorrow so that I be at GS early for the key chains, no idea how many of those they have.

People in the Facebook group I caught wind of this say that Amazon US saved some stock exclusively for Amazon Mexico. Never heard of it, an odd situation indeed.

I was just trying to see what I would get because I was afraid my copy wouldn't get here tomorrow and the extra cash wouldn't hurt. No bites at that price FWIW- the best offer I got was $140.
