Unless it comes to mobile, yes, Fire Emblem has always been exclusive to Nintendo consoles/handhelds.

didn't like 3Hs, and I watched professor school animes.
Loved Engage and was super hype at times.

Just don't make me have to play the game 3 times to get the whole story.

I guess the FE4 Remake rumor is well and truly dead now. Not that I'm complaining, because this looks good.

Yeah the rumor is dead but that doesn't mean they won't remake it like maybe at the end of switch 2's lifespan just like for Shadow of Valentia.

I'm not married to the idea of a FE4 remake. It's just I believe those rumors appeared the time some very accurate and detailed FE: Engage leaks appeared, so I basically assumed it was as close to confirmed as a rumor can be. I'm perfectly happy with a new one instead.

I keep hearing this... maybe I need to give it more of a try...

Just keep in mind that saying "the story isn't all that great" is roughly equivalent to saying "Antarctica isn't all that hot." Whatever your expectations are, lower them. In fact, you should come into it with the mindset of either that you don't care about the story or characterization at all, or that you are morbidly curious about it in much the same way as watching a train crash. It's that bad. And yes, character art/designs are ridiculous. It looks like a bunch of goofy weirdos coming together for a costume party rather than anything grounded (well, for some of them. Some of the secondary characters are fine). But yes, if you can get past that, this is probably the best battles the series has had. I played on Hard/Casual (no permadeath), and I have no idea if I could survive a Hard/Classic playthrough. Not bad for a series that you can often sleepwalk through.

As for whether or not this will have the whole school/management system, I agree it looks like it'll be toned down, but I want to know more. Three Houses sold much better than Engage. Sure, some of that is system life and the like, but I wouldn't be surprised if IS/Nintendo were disappointed in Engage's engagement (har har). They're obviously leaning back on Three Houses artstyle, universe, and making it grounded. Hopefully that is the extent of it and they don't think they need to make Three Houses 2 to get a return to form sales-wise. But I'm not ruling any of it out until we can see it.

My dudes, this is my kind of game! Fire Emblem, Dragon Quest, Metroid, Monster Hunter Stories, Hades 2 are where it's at for me, only wish we'd have gotten a new Xenoblade and Animal Crossing announced. Gonna be swimming in games for the next few years.

Really hope this has less talking/dating and more fighting. I gave up on Three Houses because of all of the nonsense around the battles.
