Have to ask again: What's the best way to get the DS4 working on PC in this game?

What do you guys think would be a good punishment for rage-quitters? No more fight money for a week after 5 disconnects?
Have disconnect percentage prominently shown and maybe even have a filter for it. Everything >1% is garbage if we go by SF4.

I fucking hate 99% of Ryu and Ken players. Haven't a notion on what to do bar jump, spam shoryukens and throws. So irritating to play against.

Gotta just learn the counters to that and let them hang themselves

It makes for a boring match though sometimes

Like "really, you'll keep doing it? That's all you can do?"

But then crush counters and AAs feel pretty good

Zangief is the bane of my existence. Even the scrubbiest zangief of all time could probably destroy me.

Also, funnily enough, I just realized i've played 0 mikas so far. Weird.

Day 4

Matchmaking still takes >20 minutes with all settings set to any.

Friends still can't join my battle lounges, nor can I join theirs.

Good job fixing it, Capcom. Working as intended.

Glad to hear its not just me having the same issues. I've given up on the game for now, can't be assed to piss around with sitting at menu's waiting for something to happen anymore. At this rate Sega will translate Yakuza 6 before I hit 100 matches played on this damn game.

probably a dumb question but how do you accept battle lounge invites. i saw an invite pop-up in the sfv ui but i wasn't sure how to accept it. looked in the menus but i'm blind i guess. thought it would be like other games where the ps4 ui would get a notification and you accept it there but nothing there either.

anyone got tips on beating the last fight Bison Normal Survival w Chun?

i hate the thought of playing this again but i want that blue alt...

Got all the way up to him and lost to him with Chun Li too OMG

I had damn near full health. It was like the CPu just turned on and wanted to be difficult lol

I think it's in the message log thing in the upper left corner of the main menu.

KI does this :)

True, but it could still be more reasonable in terms of time time commitment to unlock a small selection of colors, or give players a choice of which to unlock each time they earn one to make it less frustrating.

I do still have a beef with KI's color unlock rate, but SFV just went crazy-town with the unlock system so literally anything is 100x more sane. (probably gone off-topic here).

Why are they destroying you/who do you play

I play chun, I shouldn't have any problems with them because of her good buttons but nope, it just doesn't work.

I space them out with hp, hk, and mk then eventually they manage to get in and it becomes a shit show. This zangief was grabbing my whiffed hard punches, too. I didn't even know that was possible

Couldn't connect with my friend who lives in California (i live in Texas) last night. He kept getting random games after game non-stop, while I barely got any. Maybe it's because I have my connection set to 5-star only.

Day 3 for me and I'm still having zero issues, must be lucky.

Sat down for a quick session just this morning before heading to work and played against 4 or 5 people in the 20 minutes I played, super quick matchmaking.

Loving the game so far but man these load times are brutal. I spend 3 minutes in a match and 5 minutes finding one. Very frustrating and hurting the overall enjoyment.

My ratio is now 0W 14L but I don't mind. I know I'm doing something wrong, and that it's possible to get better, so I'm gonna do that, and read through some stuff today. Currently reading through his bnb list at streetfightergod.com.

What does "From Target Combo" mean though?

Oh then idk lol

I can never beat most chuns with gief

One thing you might need to keep in mind though is to not back up

Do not back yourself into the corner or to charge fireballs. This is Gief's best shot by far at winning in this matchup. Do your best to hold ground with buttons and fireballs that aren't predictable and if he uses an armored run or hard punch jump and punish. Parry gets beaten by a quick walk up throw too.

Personally I have been coping with the slow matchmaking by leaving ranked and casual fight request on, and messing with training and survival modes.

I am assuming fight request is no different than the dedicated search screen in terms of chances of fighting a game.

Today is the first day I finally sat down and started just playing and man getting into and out of matches takes forever.

I've found that you have to be extraordinarily aggressive against the the last few characters in normal, particularly Bison. Even if he blocks a chunk of your combo, don't let up. the CPU doesn't learn and will randomly leave itself open.

Also, if you're health is descent, try using the attack booster if it's available (or defense if you're not feeling too confident).

I have to admit that I'm not thrilled with the fact that I had to run normal (and soon hard) survival per costume. At least it's not per color...

Game's awesome I do not get the kneejerking backlash. Online is as good as I remember it in IV. Sure, one in five games can have a problem, but that's often on the player's service.

I have one question. In IV i could check my playtime, win percentage etc. Can I do it in V?

Anyone?

If I lose and it says failed to retrieve data does that mean the victor did not get the win or FM?

Just had a close match and lost, would suck if the victor didn't get the spoils.

Target combo is a special combo, not every character has them, check under move list if your character has something listed like m punch >h kick

What does "From Target Combo" mean though?

Target Combos are combos that are considered a part of the character's movelist. They're usually part of the character's command list in-game and they're considerably easier to do as compared to regular combos.

With regular combos, you usually have to do the inputs at specific timings, but target combos are a lot more lenient, letting you input the commands slightly before hand.

like Laura's st.mp xx st.mk

or Necalli's st.mk xx st.HK xx V-Skill

I'm assuming "From Target Combo" is referring to doing something directly after a target combo?

Compared to mkx the stages in this are mostly pure trash. The npcs in the background look like they run at 10fps on some stages, they mind as well not be there. I hope they touch these up at some point.

Yeah it might be that, cause Nash have those special combos.

What's the best way to practice hit confirms? Should I set the computer blocking to random in training?

Practice, practice and then a little bit more practice. Your brain and your hands need to be in perfect sync to successfully be pulling off hit confirms.

And yes, random blocking can help for some offline practice but real matches with real people are the best way to go for that specific thing IMO.

Honestly the game still takes a bit long to get a match... BUT honestly I only ran into one disconnection of my like over 15 matches yesterday. And it wasn't a rage quit, before the match began I lost connection to the server.

I'm gonna try practice this one bnb but I don't quite understand it:

Cr.LK, Cr.LP xx LK Scythe

It says crouch light kick, crouch light punch, cancel into light kick scythe.

First, the cr.lk doesn't connect with cr.lp. It feels unnatural and I'm not sure I'm doing that one right.

And the other thing is lk scythe, which I assume they mean the sonic scythe with the light kick, so it's performed quicker right?

Last night I was trying to play some battle lounge. We got it working for half an hour. Got disconnected and couldn't get it to work again. So we decided to hit up some casual matches. We're both still on voice chat when we noticed that we were both getting matches at the same time. He lives in a different state and was playing on PS4, I'm on pc. It seems match making gets sent out in waves to players within a certain region all at once.

There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it. I've got friends where the game works perfectly for so its just my bad luck. Unfortunately nothing on my end can fix this (I spent all day yesterday trying to no avail, and even after today's tweaks I can't get matches regularly) so I'm at a loss on what to do. Which is a pity, as I absolutely love the game when I play it, I already love it way more than 4, but on 4 I could always get matches within a minute of searching (if that)...

That first one sounds like a link and not a chain, which means you have to execute cr LP right when the frames for cr LK end, so it comes out even with the hitstun and thus links and combos. So don't mash it, tap it in rhythm

Though light attacks are generally more lenient links.
