SMITE Beginner's Guide - Welcome to the Battleground

Are you ready to play god?

Smite is coming to PS4! The game officially enters Closed Alpha testing on PS4 today, and will begin Closed Beta in early March. Players can opt in now for a chance to receive a free Closed Beta invite in the near future.

As Smite makes its way to PS4, the Closed Beta will introduce several new skins for the gods of Smite, each available exclusively through PS4. Odin’s “World’s Collide” skin will serve as the free reward for players who link their PS4 accounts to their Hi-Rez PC accounts. Additionally, Kulkulkan’s “KuKu4” skin serves as the exclusive reward for all PS Plus members.

Finally, Ymir’s “C4codemon” skin can be found in the PS4 Founder’s Pack, which will be available for purchase on PlayStation Store during the Closed Beta period. Aside from “C4codemon” Ymir, the Founder’s Pack also unlocks all present and future gods in Smite, 400 Gems, an Ares “Soldier of Fortune” skin, and a key for instant beta access. The Founder’s Pack will be available at $29.99 USD, however players who would rather join the beta for free can opt-in to receive a free Beta invite here.

IT IS TIME

I knew it was on developlment, (Hi rez stew teased it yesterday on an AMA) but the announcement really took me as a surprise.

Great game, very console friendly will play both versions ahaha.

They really should just have a single Smite account and, apart from exclusive skins, all your content is available on every platform.

I mean, they're sort of is. You can link your accounts and get all skins, gods, voice packs on ps4/xb1.

Also, good news for PS4 owners.

It's the best PVP game I've ever played.

I had a bunch of stuff typed but this isn't really the thread for this. I will say the xb1 version has some issues that still need to be fixed. Hopefully the PS4 version doesn't suffer the same issues as I'd like to play Smite with some friends sometime.

Yeah! It will make game "fresh". :D. No need for new content IMO. It's fresh cuz it's coming on PS4.

There's a one-time, one-direction transfer that lasts for a few weeks.

The accounts aren't connected at all. I'd play on PC all the time if they were.

Ah ok I understand. Like everything was retroactive. I misunderstood. That would be sick since I have some stuff on the xb1 version that I wish I had on PC.

And maybe this isn't something most people worry about, but if it was a platform wide account and one account got banned, all of them would be banned.

I played it about 6 months ago. It was 30 FPS and had sometimes massive drops in team fights. Worked mostly great otherwise, but the drops really hurt it.
That was during a bad patch that actually caused the problems, but it's fixed now. Haven't had a single issue with the game in the past month. Runs butter smooth.

If my God Pack that i bought on PC (got as a gift on XB1) doesn't transfer then I'll just skip.

This. I played a ton on PC, bought a god pack (they gave them out at gamescom last year, they're super cheap on ebay) and have since spent a bunch of money on it. If my investment doesn't carry over, no dice.

You could merge your pc and Xbox accounts for a while where almost everything carried over, I'm sure it'll be the same for the PS4 version.

-> Triangle, Square, Triangle

Can't wait to finally play this on PS4. My friends are pretty die-hard console players who historically don't enjoy much PC gaming. We played a ton of Smite together on Xbox, but people kind of got frustrated with the console over time and quit playing it. They missed Smite enough to download it on PC and start playing there.

Smite is really great, and I hope this is a nice shot in the arm for the game. I think it deserves more attention than it gets, especially around here.

I may have read it wrong, but I thought the Ultimate God Pack transferred from PC to Xbox but not the other way around. I should contact support about getting my stuff on PC or maybe wait until the PS4 version hits.

261 hours worth of unlocks is a lot of stuff to just walk away from.

I have 1200 hours logged on Xbox Smite since beta. It's the real deal. I've never played a MOBA before either. The learning curve is steep and large, but rewarding. You're going to love it, PS4 peeps.

It was a one time limited time thing. You could transfer your god pack and any other purchases over to the Xbox One version while the game was still in beta, and then for a few weeks after launch.

Hopefully they'll do something similar for PS4, but I imagine it will also be a time limited thing too.

Apart from any of that, accounts are entirely separate and you cant transfer anything over.
