Is there some way to avoid that grab by Nash? I just lost two rounds against nashes that would immediately grab me at wake up by that ground head smash thing. Can't seem to block it, and cant keep him back since it's a forward jump! :(
 
I hate the Fight Money aspect of this game. You can just tell where/how it seeped into the game's core design in negative ways.

It wouldn't have been this bad if the store was available on launch. But this grinding for fight money and not having anything to spend it on is demoralizing.

That's weird, you should be able to just block it. Are you sure you didn't press any buttons or something?
 
Finally got to play my first ranked match today. Ranked and casual weren't working at all for me since launch. I also cleared Survival Hell yesterday in anticipation for even a single fighting request to pop. Didn't happen. Was really happy when it worked today, although directly from the menu.

Was against an 8 win streak Nash (Bronze) who was spamming jump and sweep. Felt good to punish that to victory. Game ran so smooth, almost offline levels against a person from UK. Very impressed.

It's not even that. It's just how everything's distributed. I know people are saying the Daily Challenges will be easy, but given how everything else has been so far, I have to imagine those Challenges are going to involve stupid shit like 'win 5 ranked matches in a row' and 'beat Survival using only Hadokens'
 
I think my player level just increased for no reason but I'm not sure was level 25/26 earlier today and now it's 50 I did do necalli and fang story and easy survival for both and maybe a few games online can't remember how many but I can't imagine it boosting it that much but I'm not sure. The weird thing is it seemed to get to level 50 or at least the notification while I was in training mode as fang
Does 1 character level up equal 1 level up to player level? That's the only thing I can think of, if it is that then it was probably just a delayed notification

I'm almost completely sure that is how it works.
I went through the story and easy survival of all the characters, which gets them to level 12, and that matches up with my player level (plus a few extra levels).

Seriously, Bisons inforno combo thing is completely safe. My shooting peach doesnt even reach him if I use it after the inferno since Bison can actually backdash before I can get him..
 
I'm kinda liking R. Mika, but her V-Skill and V-Trigger seem kinda useless.

V-Skill is funny, but I can't imagine you'd really actually have time to use it in most matches.

V-Trigger is basically a projectile that you can only use once per full meter. Seems like a waste of meter to me.

Am I missing something that makes these moves good?
Can't comment on her V-Skill, but her V-Trigger allows for some zany hijinx. There's more tech on said channel.

You need to use a regular normal and combo that into peach. Try Heavy Punch into Heavy Peach. Or just move closer and do one of your command grabs.

Going by the bottom of the screens, Challenges are Ranked Only.

It's possible that because he was looking in the ranked matches section that it said that. I don't think they would keep daily challenges exclusive to ranked. Probably Casual + Ranked.
 
Any good video character guides yet? Figured Art/LI would be on this already; are they?

By the time i can actually move again, he's already backdashing though

edit - Im litterally just so far away from him after he does the combo that I am not in range of him, it's pretty absurd and gives bison so much freedom to just throw shit out without fear of any backlash
 
I should really get into training. All I'm doing is playing ranked but I'm hitting a wall at 1000+. Can't punish or use combos really for my life. And I also never use the super attack. Maybe I should stop using the XBO analog stick.

PC fighting stick recommendations for 60€ tops?
 
Didn't even know there was a community in Lima lol. It'd be awesome to go and fight some of the monsters of the FGC.
Are you from Lima too? Everyone is welcome, look up The Backyard on Facebook and you should be able to find a fanpage with lots of info. There is definitely an active community, in fact there was a tournament in Chile recently and Peru took USF4.

Hello again World Warriors! We’re back today with another round of updates for you all and we’re happy to report that we’re making a lot of great progress on all fronts. Hit the jump to see the current status of things and what we have on the roadmap as well.

Matchmaking

Matchmaking for Ranked and Casual is stable and is working as intended for most users. Some additional tweaks were made to the servers overnight, so players should actually be getting matches at a much faster rate now as well.

We do understand this is not the case for everyone, and the amount of matches a user gets can vary by region.

If you’re still having issues with Ranked or Casual matchmaking (long waits, unable to connect), please leave a comment here or tweet to @SFVServer with your Fighter ID and provide as much detail as possible (location, platform, etc).

Battle Lounge

We understand some users are still running into issues with Battle Lounges. We’ll be working on implementing fixes to this feature into the weekend. Again, this only affects some users so don’t be discouraged from checking this mode out and getting some matches in with friends!

Fighter ID Search

There were issues in the past day or so where newly created Fighter IDs were not showing up in the search. This issue has been resolved and newly created Fighter IDs will be available to search within 30 minutes of creating the account.

If you look at the bottom right of the main menu. It tells you what button to press (Square on PS4) to get your Fighter Card thing to pop up. In there you can view previous fights and also view the profiles of your opponents.

I'm guessing it's going to be some paltry amount as well, like 25 per challenge.

People should really start posting cheese strategies for the AI in Survival. Can't stand it anymore.

I swear I tried that, but I could have been pressing a button just through panic haha. I will try that out. I wish chun li had some better attack to get-up to. I usually just find myself blocking and dashing away which still makes me vulnerable.
 
got over the fear and jumped into ranked after about 5-6 hours of survival,training and story modes.
Found matches within 30-40 secs (PC)
2-0 and gaining the confidence. Game is really damn smooth online too, hopefully the servers stay up.

EX SBK is my go too if im under heavy pressure as Chun.
 
After playing for a few days, maybe 8 hours total with a DS4 - I just got my Madcatz Fightpad in the mail. Trying it out right now, and I have no idea how to even hold this thing.

Do I grip it like a normal controller. Do I just keep three fingers ready over the face buttons? I can't even do the simplest things because my hands are confused. I press heavy punch when I intend to medium, Medium when I try to light etc...

I am also a little drunk..might have something to do with it...
 
At what round does hard survival becomes bullshit so I can prepare for it?

For me, after the first 15 rounds. AI seems to block everything. Can't imagine how much more balls it's gonna get the further I advance. I want those colors, but kinda losing interest with survival. Easy and normal were doable, but hard and hell...ugh.

I don't. Gives people more tangible incentives to play besides just BP/PP, and it will save us money in the long run.

It's a long term design, so obviously on day 3 it's not going to be all that impressive.

The benefits will eventually reveal themselves.

They feel completely different and when I first got my stick I couldn't do a Hadouken reliably. Just go into practice mode and stay there until you can do everything you could do with a controller.
 
Anyone else think that Capcom should release this year's DLC for free (time and money-wise) for early adopters as a gesture of good will?
