Street Fighter V |OT2| Another Fight Isn't Coming Your Way!

I had a habit of throwing out random sweeps and told myself I wasn't allowed to press the HK button outside of V-Trigger until I won three matches without it.

I still do it sometimes. But not as much!

For SFV, random sweep is somehow safer than random MP/MK.

GGs! Had to quit there 'cause, honestly, the tense matches were getting to me and making me lose my focus over time, heh.

I felt I leveled up during that set, though, so thanks for the games. The fireballs and the DP make it hard to get in for Mika... I'll have to look into that.
Yup...we both definitely leveled up our game. That's what it's all about right there, adapting to each other and coming up with some new approaches. Beautiful matches, gonna own people when I get back to rank.

Sounds like a defective controller.

Problem solved apparently, a friend said it could have something to do with the back switch, so I twisted it so it's faces the letter "L" and now I can defend just fine. I don't even know what that means but I'm happy. Can't believe I've been playing like that all this time.

Thanks.

PS4 version finally showed up so I get to play around with Bison's battle costume. First attempt at normal survival ended in heartbreak and HEALTH RECOVERY: LOW...second try, headstomps and cross-ups got lv.30 bison down. Man that was almost disappointing.

I like the white/tanned/yellow beard color I unlocked but man I really wanted yellow. Not doing hard survival EVER.

Dat feel when the exact second the game finally finds a casual match you have to quit on the spot cause of unrelated circumstances/demands

I just want to fight some good players man. With no 2/3, you can lose to the most random shit sometimes and lose so much points.
yea man, once I got to 4K, I started getting the wilies and playing nervous and hesitant, which is certainly not the best idea with Ken lol. So, if I want to make a run for diamond or platinum at least, I figure I need to level up enough that I'm comfortable with all matches and don't lose my gameplan. It's deinfitely some nice players sticking to rank though, but there's also a ton of autopilot bisons lol. I'll add u to favorites so we can play sometimes mate.

U going for grand Master?

Just don't see what the argument would be. "oh my god capcom, how dare you take fm from people who dc a disproportionate amount!" Like, it doesn't really seem like an argument that would hold a lot of sway among those of us that don't constantly chickenshit mode

It's an argument to be made is all i'm saying. Also i'd imagine they'd have to facilitate a way to subtract FM outside of the store which may or may not be trivial. It doesn't seem like something that'd work out. Something like an auto loss for dropping and then a lockout for dropping repeatedly would be a more likely solution

edit: forgot that there was fight money and zenny. yeah take their fight money

Hard to say without having footage.

General stuff I guess

-Always Anti-air jumps. Between Lariat, Cr. Hp. st. hk and st. jab the god button nobody should be anywhere in your sky zone.

-Know your buttons. Except for characters like Chun and Sim and Nash your good buttons (St. mk, cr. mk, st. hp, cr. jab) should all be quite a bit farther reaching than your opponent's counterparts. Use them to outpoke your opponents.

-Never use command grab as a wakeup.

Cool gracias. Getting slightly better.

Is each new DLC character getting its own story chapter?

I believe they mentioned earlier that they'd each get their own prologue chapter, but I can't remember which announcement that was in. Probably the same announcement where the cinematic campaign trailer was shown, and the news of it launching in June was announced.

I can't for the life of my break out of the habit of mashing as soon as I have an opening to do some damage. Any tips here? My fingers and hands refuse to not tap tap tap. It's screwing up a lot of combos and links I can do perfectly in training mode.

Thats a hard habit. SF4 vet by chance? I hear thats more of a thing with the '09 crowd.

The best thing you can do is turn on the CPU in training, and get used to doing your combos on a moving target. Its amazing how better you execution gets when you're trying to land this stuff on a training dummy that doesn't just stand there & take it.

so any tips on doing survival with chun? the last 5 fights in normal are a pain in the ass

do the downforward+hk (into a combo) move after you knock them down with a sweep. That's how I did it at least. The computers give you crossups for the most part after knockdowns I found.

I agree with this, but they should only lose the points after a review. Like, someone should verify that it was indeed a rage quit. Unless they have a way of detecting what was intentional. Maybe the point loss could kick in after a certain amount of infractions? Either way, I like where you are going with this...

The point steal would make a rage quit the best thing ever. Making people rage quit would become your primary desire...

Official review.... Slave labor? That would be a terrible job. Just x2-x5 the LP loss and ban them from the server for 20 min. Each time they do it in a day, increase the penalty and ban time.

Lol, Laura please. Can't do nothing against her as Mika, litterally feel as useless as when I was fighting Blanka as T.Hawk in SF4

I played a tiny bit of SF4, but I'm more or less new. I'll give this a shot. Staying out of ranked until it's corrected.

So I've been playing with the Hori Fighting Commander 4 for a few hours now. Hard to get over the curve of having six face buttons, but the DPad is nice. It's a lot less lenient on button inputs which I like a lot. Had issues with accidental commands a bunch on the DS4. It's a good substitute for now, at the very least. I can see myself growing to like it a lot.

God my frame trap timing with Mika is terrible atm. :S I have 2 frame gaps but keep getting hit, I need to figure out a way to practice this better.

Mental Note: Stay cool when people jump in on you. =( I know Laura's AAs but jumping beans get under my skin lol

Started playing online tonight. Always makes me nervous. I was espeically afraid since I hadn't touched a stick or a FG since like AE.

Wasn't as bad as I thought, though. Started with Ryu to work on fundamentals and I'm doing alright. I'm up to 410 LP and only had one loss so far. It's just a lot of block and punish at this stage. Though I still have a bad habit of using a throw to punish things (like a blocked DP).

I'm trying to learn a lot more from my losses as well. I saw in one match I wasn't AA'ing effectively so I went back into training set the dummy to 5 different actions and 2 were jumping forward (1 with an attack, the other without) and just practiced til i could react to it a bit faster.

All in all. I think this game feels a lot better than 4 ever did for me. I never seemed to improve despite trying like crazy..but this time I'm already noticing small gains I'm making.

Im constantly getting thrown after Ryu jumps in with a kick and i block it. Am I just supposed to guess if he'll throw or continue the block string? It's wrecking me.

Is it still rage quitting if I leave in the first 10 seconds after the Gief's teleporting everywhere? :/

Yo Moradin, that sim you fought is cray Gsglty has some dope tech.

Yeah the second match I had with him was hard as hell. Completely zoning me out. He was playing a lot more aggressive the first game and I was able to win that one. Against a keep away Dhalsim though? Good fucking luck.
