I'm not sure if he's wide open to punish, but he mostly do the same thing again and again the whole match, forward jump kick, low kick, some standing punch than hadouken if it conects, when he finish the attack jump kick attack again with cross up. there's variation to the timing so even when in my mind I had a plan like do the jump grab attack or cMP when he jump, I can't consistently get the timing right.

If he does a hadoken in a block string close to you then EX QCF+P is an easy punish.

Try the Passion Press as well if he isn't too far.

Hadoken is pretty unsafe if done close.

Record the dummy in training and practice against what he was doing.

Had an awesome fight with a silver Nash, feels good to beat a silver when you're only bronze but man I think overall level is high compared to early weeks SFIV. That or I suck even more than I did at the time, which is definitely a possibility :/

I wish fighting games would stop marking everything bar the shittiest connections as 5 bars. It's utterly unhelpful. I'm not convinced this shit connection with someone on the other side of the globe is good purely because you slap a 5 bar signal meter next to it.

He didn't do the Hadoken when I blocked, just move back a little than continue pressuring me with jump attack in close range. Have to immedieately switch direction to block his jump attack really got to me for a couple matches early on. Even after I know what I had to do to block it, I sometimes slip and lost quite a bit HP

Watch this video with the producers if you want to know more about survival mode: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yAKWAFERrY starting at about 3:40

I like how before that moment they keep reiterating Story Mode expansions will be FREE! WILL BE FREE! WILL BE FREE!

Let's dispel with this fiction that Yoshinori Ono doesn't know what he's doing. He knows exactly what he's doing.

Practice your anti-airs.

- cr. MP
- Wingless Airplane
- Jump back plus HK or another normal to hit him out of the air as he jumps

If he is jumping over you then cr.HK or cr.HP is also an option to go under him since they low profile.

You can also back dash or jump back to get out of his range after a block string.

What's the best way/when's the best time to use R. Mika's command grabs?

I'm fine with landing Zangief's, but I'm struggling to land hers outside of using the EX version against opponents who are waking up. Can I grab people as I'm blocking them?

Like any move, her c grabs have startup frames, so it depends on what move the enemy did when you blocked it. I tend to use them when an enemy wakes up or after a reset. Tick throwing after lk is always an option, especially if you've hit the enemy with a target combo once or twice first to condition them.

well, I'll have to go out for a few hours, I'll continue playing SF V in a couple hours.

btw, anyone know what's a good option for Mika when she wake up or when enemy got knocked down, any good attack that will force enemy to block so you can continue the pressure

You can use normal versions as meaties so they can't beat them with a button

If you're blocking you definitely shouldn't be command grabbing unless you're reading a tick throw

You should be going for tick throw setups and reads in general. Tick throwing after s.LP is very good since it's +2 on block

Has Capcom mentioned anything about how the upcoming 8-person lobbies are going to work?

While I had a lot of fun running 8-person lobbies in IV with friends, you could easily end up spending most of your time just waiting for your turn, especially so if you were less skilled than the average in the lobby. So it would be great if the lobbies in V would support simultaneous matches, similar to how (for example) lobbies work in Skullgirls, where multiple people can fight in parallel.

They haven't said much about the lobbies so it'll probably be like SF4.

Got to level 28 with Ryu in normal survival then this fucking Nash starts teleporting and shit, holy difficulty spike Batman.

It's not really Nash. It's Bison. Once the AI turns off "brain dead" mode, good lord the Bison combos.

Scissor Kick -> V-trigger -> Combo into like 50% of your health off and you're just sitting there like "really??"

Ah, alright, thanks.

I'm enjoying playing Mika. I've got a few combos with her down, including a simple V-Trigger combo, but I'm still struggling dealing with opponents, which I guess has always been my problem with fighting games due to spending most of my time in training mode.

Yeah I got to 26 with Karin until Bison appeared and I was left in awe of what happened. I'm not nearly confident enough to deal with crap like that lol

I can finally use lobbies to fight against my friends! Before the latest server update I couldn't play it ONCE.

The game is really addictive, so I think I might need to buy a stick. My thumb hurts like hell and I have some blisters too.

The highest I got up to was stage 35. My advice for Bison is to jab punish his cr.hk since you can combo into ressenha or different strengths of mujinkyaku. He surprisingly eats quite a few close range ressen has on wake up too, but I wouldn't attempt it at midrange or farther. A good strategy might also be j.mk crossups on wake up. I personally stick with defense+2/3 upgrades, but if my health bar is nearly full I opt for attack+2/3 against Nash and Bison because they're annoying pricks when the CPU is clairvoyant.

The spike starts with Laura at 25.

Ryu at 26 is a PITA too since his first hit on you will always lead to the same perfectly executed combo.

Im a pad player myself and ill say for over 20 years now, but for christmas i got a Hori rap 5 and ill say this been using it since that time, but today i decided to try the pad - what a difference, i can do simple jab punishes into a super, I'm not concentrating on how to use the stick, maybe i should play some more on it but who cares. Think about it, if not blisters you will complain about wrist lol.

The AI is inconsistent as hell. While they noticeably ramp up, they can still be super dumb. I just beat Birdie's normal survival and almost lost on 29 to Necalli bs, got a low health regen while nearly being dead, but Bison kept walking right into his chain grain for an easy finish. It's such a frustrating mode.

Capcom is probably about to enter their own survival mode now that Japan sales numbers are out.

Ryu killed me in stage 100 of hell survival. Retried, then Karin killed me at 86 or something. :( I'm devastated, not sure I have the energy to try again.

Imagine getting to Survival 29 and then getting disconnected from the server.

Game deserves the bodying. I completed normal survival offline during maintenance which I assume means I'll never get FM for that. Great. Videogames!

I really doubt it will.

UK was 80 (I think this included PC and PS4)
Japan was 41

So that's 121k. That doesn't include the US, which is probably going to be around 80.

So that's pacing 201k just about for physical. If we do the whole digital inclusion thing, that's 10 percent I think, so 20,100.

221,000 overall possibly. Maybe more if steam wasn't actually included.

How they will hit 2 million by March is anyone's guess, but it's not a complete bomba.

Consoles are dead in Japan so this was no surprise.

That's not entirely true, but there are a large portion of people who haven't made the switch from PS3 to PS4.

RIP Season 2
Just give me Cody, Ingrid, Q and Makoto in S2 and they can shut it down.

I'd need Jesus in my life after that, man.
Well we know exclusivity has nothing to do with these numbers.
True

People are already blaming PS4 exclusivity for low UK sales. I fully expect the same argument when the NPD numbers come out. No 3S characters to blame for low numbers this time.

God I hope Capcom doesn't question its FGC-engagement after this abysmal launch. We need long term support for this game, its core is amazing.

I really doubt it will.

Do you realise that there are more countries than the UK in Europe? lol
