I actually try to hold back a little if I see my opponent has no idea what they're doing, to give them some space to figure things out. But always landing big punishes if they do something stupid like random DPs, gotta teach them it's a bad strategy.

Even then, some people still ragequit. I guess they'd only be happy if I let them win.

I sometimes wonder if the people DC'ing just give up and are willing to accept you are better but do not understand that it is a requirement to lose in order to improve.

I mean I know a lot just take advantage of DC's for their meaningless win streaks but sometimes I wonder if there are legit people who just can't see the match out emotionally.

Edit: Regardless they really need to solve the problem. Should just give DC's the L and the opponent the W. Even if it's a legit DC. It's not like W/L ratio even matters. Well, there is ranked...but I mean...stuff happens? I guess.

Rage quits for me are most upsetting. I'm freaking Bronze rank, and every win with Gief is a real struggle. I've had a few instances now when I've had rage quits in the middle of my CA. It's like come on people, I'm working real hard for this--I'm very sorry you were caught in my grab.

I have a lot of trouble against Gief, but even then I have nothing but respect for the setups I get caught on. He's so cool in this game.

Absolutely. Lost A LOT of Player Points in Ultra SF IV due to power outages and issues with my PC (driver crashing), but I still think it's without a doubt the right thing to do. I'll take that L that's not my fault gladly if it means actual ragequitters are getting punished.

Not at all. All the tech they do wouldn't translate to a fighting game, even netcode wise. As noted, just putting GGPO in would have helped but none of those devs have experience in it either. It's unlikely any of Sony's dev team would have done anything better.

Devs don't have experience in GGPO rollback code, so they write their own instead of hiring a consultant? That doesn't sound like a good idea. It's their flagship fighter, they should of been in talks with the GGPO guys from the start. I'm sure they would of been thrilled to work with Capcom.

bleeding LP again, the Necalli dream is dead ;_;

I'm not playing ranked until this issue is addressed. Lobby and casual matches are all i need.

So the 45 seconds of "Connecting..." Between ranked matches before it even search for an opponent.

What is that? What is the game doing?

Probably old news, but I came across the Mike Z post about how the netcode is implimented improperly. Explains why some people will experience rollback on their end, but their opponent is fine.

Really disheartening to hear, why can't Japanese developers just license GGPO instead of reinventing a shittier wheel? Best part is it'll probably never be fixed :(.
The answer to your question is the lack of Japanese documentation and support for ggpo.

Ah yeah that was typo!
That explains why b. mp xx hp is so much easier. I guess it's most likely a timing problem then. I will try to practice this some more but I feel like it's really rally strict on how you have to time it :7. Thanks for the information!
Not really that hard. You can in fact spam your buttons. Although I wouldn't suggest on doing it. That said, spaming it might help you in understanding when the cr. mp animation really ends and when you should be pressing the button. Sometimes some animations seem to last longer than they really do.

I'm playing Gief at the moment and yeah, it's very frustrating. More so when you're facing people that base their entire gameplan in running away from you ALL the time. I had this Nash that was using every trick in his pocket to keep me away and when I finally was on him, he would use his v-reversal or his v-skill just to run away. He was higher ranked than me and you can understand why: after the last hit, he quit.

Yeah, cheerleaders be damned, it's a shame the game launched in such a poor state.

The problem is most aren't true "rage" quits.

Just people that don't want to lose LP as they want to rank up to Gold as they put a stupid trophy for reaching gold. Trophies in MP modes tend to cause more problems than there worth.

I hope that's the case. There's Platinum, Diamond, and Master Leagues so eventually most of the Gold players will be two leagues up and the Gold League itself should be much more attainable. I'd still prefer rage quitting to be fized before then, though.

I can't believe the Japanese sales for this game. How can good games sell so bad :( And part of a legendary series to boot, this is not some random release. I really hope the game can make a comeback in the future.

'cause Makoto knows how to dress herself and is an actual no-nonsense bad-ass!
Yeah, SFV is really lacking in the non-DOA girls department. We need Makoto back!

I'm sure SFV would have sold better in Japan if they followed DOA's style of female character design.

Is anybody else having trouble connecting to the servers? I can't get a connection at all. It keeps bouncing me to offline mode after spending a few minutes trying to connect. And the few times I do connect it only lasts for a few minutes and then I get disconnected. Every other MP game I have works perfectly. So I'm not sure if the issue is on my end or if it's Capcom.

Oh I'd be shocked if they didn't do something before then. They're probably just waiting until their sure the severs are mostly stable so they're aren't pissing people off who get quitter penalties because the servers shit the bed mid match.

Hm, I've actually tried spamming but even that doesn't work most of the time. It seems very inconsistent. Might be a problem with input-lag or something.

Edit: DS4Windows says I got a pretty consistent 4ms though.

To be fair, even SF4 and its iterations didn't exactly set the Japanese charts on fire and they had arcade releases.

No matter what, SF just isn't a big seller in Japan anymore.

Probably largely because console gaming period has dropped off dramatically over there. Portables and mobile are huge.

Someone posted numbers in the MC thread, SFIV got ~150k numbers on release week, while SFV didn't break 50k :(

Now, the differences would be that there's no arcade version for SFV, and it's PS4+PC instead of PS3+360. Media Create doesn't track PC games and I'm not even sure if there's a physical PC release in Japan, but on the other hand, Xbox 360 was a non-factor in Japan, lol. So who knows :/

Ha. R. Mika's titties are virtually fighting the fabric to stay in.
Lol, her design is downright stupid. She doesn't have nipples, seemingly.

That is the most satisfying part of landing that super... Honestly... It's the whole reason I started using her after I realized Ken wasn't cutting it for me in this game...

Hohohohohohohohohohoho!
It was the same reason i started using her! And the fact that Karin is a very common name in sweden. I have huge problems landing her launcher consistently though so i gave up on her for now

I've embraced the ojou laugh a long time ago, but now it's something more. I don't even think about the game that much, just Karin. She never leaves my mind, I think of unspeakable things, things I never thought I'd want to do with anyone.

She must smell so nice, and her scent must be so strong after all the fighting. Thinking about her sweat is driving me nuts.

I just can't get you out of my head
boy your love is all I think about
You might want to look into the mod scene ლ(´ڡ`ლ)

Bruh...
Season 2 hope

I can imagine how infuriating losing at that point must feel. Would have preferred if the difficulties just made the AI harder and all of them had only 10 Stages instead of just adding more stages.

I was pissed. I set my stick down and just paced around the apartment telling my gf how much Capcom fucked this game up.

I get way more upset playing survival mode than I do playing online. At least when I lose online I'm actually getting to play Street Fighter proper, instead of the stupid AI bullshit.

Alright, advice time.

I'm a Rashid player, and I don't have too much of a problem with much of the cast aside from Nash. I always end up getting caught in this vicious loop of jump in -- > blockstring that pushes me back too far to punish --> either jump over cross-up and repeat or walk-up throw.

I feel like I have no good tools for breaking out of this situation. Even if the blockstring ends with light/medium versions of Nash's specials it pushes me away just enough to not be able to punish appropriately.

Any tips for cheesing survival with Laura? I can get to 20ish by just crossup->cr forward -> elbow grab thing, but they start anti-airing after that. Had decent success spamming fireball and elbowing immediately after it, but I lost @ 29.

Survival sucks.

Mash ex whirlwind like a scrub friend

So do we all agree that Nash is a broken character? I mean, there are a lot of chars that pull a lot of bullshit (Sim, Cammy, Bison) but this guy is just so over the top: great damage, footsies, zoning, dashes, pressure, punish, v-system... and easy to learn.

Definitely too early to be making any "broken" proclamations, but I think he's definitely top-tier as of right now.

He certainly is a swiss army knife of a fighter. Got tools for everything.

I didn't have too much trouble with her (cleared on 2nd attempt). Take advantage of her projectile and command grab. When projectile approaches the opponent attack low / use neutral v skill. They won't block everything coming at them.

Might not be the most productive but I did it with ease. Was originally going to main her until I put her as No.2 and started to main Cammy.
