Dude Jonathan got fucking g-checked in that tweet.
OOOOOOOOOHHHHH!
OOOOOOOOOHHHHH!
I mean I have no outrage here at all but I assume someone at ND needed some art for a crucial moment in the game and figured "lets just google it?" is that normal practice?
I see no other way they would get ubisoft concept art
Though this is a 30 page thread, it could be a 30 page thread of people patting Naughty Dog on the back and saying it's okay. That's what I meant when I replied to the guy who questioned this dude. >
What do you want them (ND) to do to apologize for their mistake then?
Silly mistake.
But yeah, they got called out on it, apologized and fixed it. Not sure what some people on here are expecting.
Trying to twist it around and make it seem like a good thing with the whole "they should be honored" argument is stupid, true. But then you also have people acting as if Naughty Dog had a big meeting where everyone was like "yeah, let's steal art from Ubisoft!!!!!!"
Someone clearly screwed up and probably got into trouble for it. And the company apologized for the issue. This shouldn't be such an unheard of situation for anyone who has worked in any type of big company
Ubisoft could have been professional and messaged Naughty Dog about it quietly instead of letting it out in the public.
That's a poor line of thinking, especially when its happened twice to ND. As I said before, ND deserves every bit of praise they get, but if they make a mistake they deserve to be criticized.

I think that is a very human thing to do as we base our decisions and views on emotions.
Also, I totally agree that they made a mistake but they owned up to it. So that is good. But I also agree that the tides will turn for them now if that kind of blunder ever happens to them again.

Pick one
Well it's happened twice to specifically them, so now is when they would take a look and say, ok we have to change the process. If it were to happen again that would be an insane lack of diligence on their part.
I highly doubt it.
This is just as bad as some of the worst posts on here. ONE (rightfully) pissed developer tweeted about it. OMG you guys how unprofessional of Ubisoft. Please. Did Yves Guillemot run over your dog or something.

that black girl is played by a white girl
lol this is too much, I can't in this thread.
why?

They might be overreacting but to be fair, they just wanted to make the point "ND didn't get a free pass."Nothing. They already said what they needed to say. It's over.
My response was to those people who keep making it seem like ND had it so rough over this issue. This was nothing. People over react too much.
A single piece of nicked placeholder art ends up in a trailer and we spend 31 pages talking about it. 31 pages. Amazing.
Silly mistake.

Would you rather such blatant thievery not be highlighted for the despicable crime it is?
They do seem to be hacks walking around in artist's clothing sometimes.
That's why the Druckman thing always bugged me, based on what little info was available. It seemed as though people let him believe he was making the The Road when really he just made a zombie movie after that sort of thing was way overdone.
From there, the egos probably ran the joint. I thought all three Indiana Jones rip offs were more model than the zombie rip off.

It was probably a placeholder and they forgot to change it before releasing the trailer.

Ok, I'll accept that using 'skulduggery of the highest order's was overstating things a little. Although to be honest that was more snark than any sort of attack on your stance.I disagree with this as well given the reaction shouldn't matter, when if they did steal (intentionally not by mistake as is the case), then they did so thinking they could get away with it.
Also saying "skullduggery of the highest order" is the very definition of putting words in my mouth. I never said what they've done is monumental, I even said they made a stupid mistake on far more than one occasion, that being said the people insinuating that if it was intentional it doesn't matter given the scale of the item stolen? Those people are wrong, and I think giving them a pass for that is wrong.
