I'll tell you a big reason why I play ranked. It is so I can play battle lounge. Let me elaborate. I don't want to play beginners in battle lounge. If I join a lobby with someone who is silver or gold league and let's day I have no points then I would get kicked out without even a match.

I don't blame them either. I want to be at a higher league so I can face people at the same skill level.

I had the same experience, it's a lonely world being a bronze online warrior lol.

I play on WiFi and I never have connection issues even played against a friend who has the game and no issues. Sorry the world sucks =/.

Seriously, rank doesn't mean too much.

I have 240LP, am still a "rookie", and I've beaten quite a few "Ultra Bronze" players.

Okay, I think I might have to call it a night. Matchmaking has died (not a single match in the last thirty minutes or so) and as usual people in BL see the 1-2 connection bar and instantly get out of the lobby (even though I have had many lag free matches with 1-2 bar connections before).

Question for you all: Can anyone translate some Japanese text to English? The reason I ask is because I have the Volcanic Edition book that seems to have a lot of character, timelines and story information for SFV and I can try to scan some of the pages for someone to translate and possibly give us some new information to talk about?

I was going to ask and post on the Shoryuken forums since they have a big story thread going and are trying to translate a blurry YouTube capture of one of the pages but I have to be registered and then approved by the admins. lol

For the people higher up the chain, do you see a lot more variety in the characters people are playing? Being someone only in bronze, I see a lot of Ryu, Ken, and Nash, and so I have extra trouble with the other characters since I don't see them as often

Youre not alone, Ranked has been pretty dead for me today. It's been fine for me other days though. I don't know what's going on.

It's not just the trophy. Ragequitting takes actual money away from the people that would have beat you. It's like sitting down for a money match, realizing you're gonna lose and getting up and taking off without paying up. Fight money changes the whole dynamic.

Really? I was at rookie (didn't play Ranked) until this morning and I was getting all skill levels in battle lounge. If you judge somebody by their ranked points, joke's on you. Doubly so knowing that so many of the higher ranked players are just rage quitting their way to the top.

I guess it's the digital version of when I was a kid and would put my token on the arcade machine dashboard during a match between two young adults (this signifies that you have next, for the youngins reading). They would look at me and talk trash, expecting that I'd be wasting my money...

Huh, I like the idea that Fight Money is actual money since it goes to purchase things that the season pass, which costs real money, would buy.

I haven't been paying close attention but I assume you don't actually lose money when you lose in ranked, right?

If that's the case, it's even worse since you are simply preventing the winner from gaining money that you won't be giving up either way.
