Those of you getting a lot of rage quitters, how high up in the ranks are you? I'm only bronze and haven't gotten a single RQ yet

They're mostly Silver league players and above, at least from my experience. I have come across players around 1000 LP that rage quit as well, it's really funny.

seriously, what gives with that? rematch is another basic option.

They never had it in 4 and it bugged the shit out of me. My question to Killian before Super got asked about that on the old 1UP podcast and I had a glimmer of hope in his response. Shit never came to be. It's such an obvious thing. If the other person doesn't want it, they just pass. Same as in Battle Lounge. How fucking hard can it be?

Holy shit stop fucking matching me with PC players. Good god when someone has the PS4 switch on how hard is it on the backend to manage this? I'm really not grasping it. Same with connection 5 only.

Wait, people are equating leaving a game with lag and teleportation to someone leaving right before losing?

Wat? Sorry, but if I get into a game where it's litterally impossible to tell wtf is going on, I'm outta there within seconds of the match starting

So I have this game on PS4, but I have been visiting my parents since the start of February so a little unaware about certain things (didn't spend any time with the Beta).

So I have a Hori Real Arcade Pro V3 from about 6 years ago that I left at my parent's place and never took with me. I am thinking of taking it back with me this time as I know SFV has support for PS3 sticks. What I am wondering is if there are any caveats to this that I'm not hearing about. Some guy went on about how EVO will ban PS3 sticks but that turned out to be false news as far as I know, but still it won't hurt to be in the clear about this.

What's the issue being with matched up with PC plaers?

If they're teleporting around the screen is that really selfish or just a waste of time and energy?

Depends, really.

If you disconnect at the right at the beginning of the match once you realise it's not going to be a decent fight or test of skill for either of you, sure. I guess that's just about okay in the current environment.

If you do it after most of a round, especially if it's not in your favor, then it's cheating. Simple as.

Regardless, I expect Capcom will fix the issues at one point or another then we'll all have to put up with the occasional laggy match, so I see it as a period to get used to it.

yea I agree casual needs a salty run back option.

Battle lounge you can set first to 3 first to 5 or whatever, that's what I always do. Sets is better than rounds.

I found a little sad that there's no way to easy communication with your opponents. I made a lot of friends on XBL playing SSF2THD and SF4. It was fun to hear some guys screaming and swearing, but with respect to you (some douchebags here and there, but in general ir was fun) I miss the GG after a hard match, generally followed by an invitation to friendship or a lounge. I know it would be difficult in crossplay, but at least it should be able on same system, like Rocket League does (RL is a bad example of friendship over rivalry, hehehe)

And I know there's a way to send a message after battle... but in XBL it was press the round X, friends, last played, and send message... easy as pie.

Well of course, the majority of matches I left were towards the beginning when things were terrible and weren't getting any better.

Battle options.
I'm saying I've done this yet constant matches with PC players.

I jsut find PC players to rage quit more often (maybe because it's easier). Anecdotal but it's true for me. I also find most of the lag to be from them as well. Anecdotal but it seems to be the case for me. Also a smaller less important reason is that I use a DS4 and would like to play against people slumming it out the same as much as possible lol But that one is more selfish. It's more the first two.

rage quitters should stick to casual but then again they might quit ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Put Ps4 only

It wouldn't be so bad if it was easier to communicate. On PC if a player's CFN doesn't match their steam account it's nearly impossible to track them down because they don't show up in recently played list.

Yeah I just mostly see the laggy matches as drawing bad cards in poker, it happens to everyone over enough matches, but the better players will still rise to the top. Might be cool if they put in a surrender feature where if both players agree to quit no one will gain or lose points, so if the connection is terrible you can just move on. I guess then you would just be getting clowns spamming surrender if they are losing or just to troll. I guess putting up with bad connections here and there is the only way really.

LuckyNWild is a Ragequitter?

The only person from GAF i ran into on randomly on ranked, and I gave him props in this very thread

The disappointment

Wait, people are equating leaving a game with lag and teleportation to someone leaving right before losing?

Yeah same. That's totally defensible. It's different if you play the entire match anyway and quit only if you're about to lose, but you'd take the W. But I quit out of teleport matches.

Game is so weird, sometimes. Win a first to 3, 3-1. Play the same guy again, lose 0-3. Play AGAIN (I'd have been salty if he left, but he was a good guy), win 3-1.

I have no consistency.

seriously, what gives with that? rematch is another basic option.

The "casual" mode in SF5 is meant to just be a quick match with no ranking points on the line and no frills.

If you want in depth rematch options, that's what Battle Lounge is for. The "first to" option is godlike.

a simple toggle. turning on rematch will not allow FMs to be gained.

"Simple toggles" added to the mountainous list of other "simple toggles" that people demand start to add up, and stop being simple toggles.
Let's not lose perspective here...online options in SF5 MURDER SF4's options by miles. Not even close. There have been lots of quality of life improvements and innovation all around.

Does this game actually attempt to do matchmaking? Before I lost my rank (from 900 LP) I was pitted mostly against people who had 500 LB or more than me. Now that I went below (500LP) I was pitted against people who had 200 or less. It really doesnt make any sense. I guess I cant complain for easy wins but it feels less satisfying.

I drop instantly on slideshow matches. Really if the connection is that poor the game should be killing the match anyway; no one should have to play through it. Eventually I'll have to sit through them and hope my coin flip beats theirs.
