fuck me, the last three games I won I got a rage quitter.

Then I lose four games in a row.

Down another 100lp when really I should be up!

All the rage quitters seem to by Ryus too....so now I am nervous coming up against any of them with a win streak.

Fuckers, ruining the game for others.
 
Yea i even had lag free 1 bar connection matches, strange connection system .

If the estimates work like in SFIV, then all SFV is doing is sending a handful of UDP packets back and forth to estimate the latency. That is, however, not that reliable since it it is an estimate done over a very short amount of time, so you can easily get bars that over / under-estimate the actual connection quality, especially if the connection quality is fluctuating.
 
Even if it does, I'm not sure exactly u have to check the frames advantage, you are plus after a HK meaning your opponent has to block or use an invincible move. You can bait dp and basically win the round he's now I'm the corner.

Keeping a DP character in the corner just feels difficult or rng based. Ryu can zone out Mika hard if he's good, and Mika can't really jump in on a knockdown. So you have to play the guessing game on wakeup

I can't even grasp the human psyche when you're a good player and rage quit. I just beat a guy with 18 wins in a row which might be real or fake from his rage quitting I don't know, but he was really good and I barely won.

Seriously this game is just exhausting to play sometimes. Don't know why I continue.
 
Rashids are so rare to me that I still have absolutely no idea on how to deal with his pressure, any tips?

f.MP is -2 on block, unless he starts going nuts with ex mixers you can jab to stop his pressure, light mixer is also -2 on block at best so jab that as well. st.HK is safe, if he does corpse hop tri jump in the corner into MK it's going to cross you up, I dont think any other normals will. Canceling from his projectile on block into v skil he has frame advantage from the HK version (+1) and EX (+3 I think) and he can neutral jump with the ex version leading to a crossup as the third hit of the tornado whiffs on you and goes up making contact with his neutral jump moving him slightly forward. That's kinda tricky but otherwise his safe pressure options are pretty straightforward.
 
I'm guessing the answer to this is no, but can we disable character themes from playing during match? I'd like to hear stage themes all the time.

I would play casual matches till they fix this, its not that frustrating if you get rage quitters.

Cant they add that jail system from KI, where the rage quitters just get matches vs each other?
 
Ugh another ragequitting bison SNAKE3-FOX with 12 wins.. I knew from the first round he would do that, so predictable these rqs.

You should play casual, rage quits are rare there.

Well, see, that's the conundrum. We're pissed at rage quitters because we want the damn league points we earned. No league points in casual.

Instead of making you lose 200 lp for RQ because lets face it disconnect can happen even without RQ and its not fair for the person. Make it like KI where RQers are matched up with RQers. But i would introduce a system similar to KI where if you DC i would flag you as RQ for 2 hours where you are only matched up with people who have the same RQ status as you. That way we can have the epic matchup of lucky and wild vs Gooteckshimmy to see whould RQ first for the gold league trophy...

The win streak will be fake. I don't understand them either; my best guess is that a lot of them are about 12, will brag about their score/streak at school, and will then dodge like crazy to avoid actually having to play against anyone in person. If they're adults, well, sometimes I fear for the future of humanity.

Just had another one myself: I knew it was going to happen, finished him with a CA and "disconnected".
 
With all these people talking about rage quitters, I think it's interesting the only one I've met is from a casual match. At 1400 LP on ranked and haven't had a single one quit on me, even this bison on a 9 win streak.

EDIT: Well, nevermind. Just had my first RQ against a Cammy.
 
I almost feel bad for players that are good and have a legitimate winstreak since the vast majority of the time I see one above 5 I fully expect a quit.

What about when you encounter someone with a huge win streak, who you think is a rage quitter, and then he beats your ass because he's actually really good? It's such a good/bad feeling.

I get this mindset since it was actually how I used to feel, but it would phase me out and actually hold me back vs. characters with a DP. They can technically always beat you doing stuff on wakeup, but if you try to play a character with one for awhile you'll see that it can end VERY badly, especially in 5 with how hard it gets punished for being blocked.

You can't really fear it that much, and worst case they hit you and you get knocked back, which is more than worth the pressure you put out(...ok they can also mash it into super but they have no time to confirm that landing and is even riskier). Beyond that it's just conditioning and pattern recognition if they keep doing it. Only thing you can really do is practice a maximized crush counter combo to scare them from ever doing it again once you block it.

Now, there are massive nuts out there that will continue to DP even after you CC combo them 3 times in a row, but some people never learn. This is also why I think it sucks that ranked is best out of one can feel more random than it should as it doesn't allow you to get that into the other player's habits. But play a set with a Ryu and it will show up more.
 
I think I just played Maximilian. I'm not sure... I tried to check the players met function on PSN and it turns out it's not working for Street Fighter 5. All of my interactions have been for other games....

So I just got "failed to send results to the server" after my match and when I went back to the main menu I was in someone elses account.

This won't be abusable at all once the shop opens.
 
Joined a battle room. First one with good connection. Was a Nash player rank 130000 plus player. I think.... Well I need practise against Nash anyway so what ever. It's first to ten.....

Dude fucking wrecks me 10 games straight. Antinair every time. Perfect footsies. Blocked fucking everything, tech throwing..... I got hustled haha... But I took my beating. Got a few rounds at least.

I think TvC and (U)MvC3 attempted something similar. "Rage Quitter Hell" or something where requent RQers would only be paired up with one another. A similar system being put into SFV would make a lot of sense.
 
All this RQ talk, did I miss a official Capcom statement about it?

Also any good stream or archive of Cannes Winter Clash to watch at work?
