My first tech video for Chun-Li, mostly just assorted clips of stuff I had tested.

Includes:
-Comboing after non-ex Kikoukens
-How instant air stomp stuffs many "invulnerable" wakeup options.
-The frame data of IA Stomp xx air lightning legs on block.
-Some fun combos.

Already have a bunch of stuff in line for a second vid.

Anytime you hit someone with your crush counter move on a counter hit.

So I can basically counter at anytime has long as it's a crush counter. Gotcha.

I was trying to see if I could get a crush counters with specific moves. A lot of Ken and Ryu players like throwing out random tatsu, but I could never get a crush counter as soon as the animation would end. I guess treating other special moves like it's a random DP doesn't always work.

If it's anything like 4 I believe they are safe as soon as they touch the ground. Annoying to punish for me.

My luck turned back around this evening when I started playing Pokemon Yellow in between match ups, maybe its easier to take things less seriously when as your character is crumpling to the floor at the end of round 1 instead of wallowing in that defeat I'm ensuring I can quickly get Spearow to peck a Caterpie in the face before Round 2 starts.
Why dare I say level grinding and waiting for online match ups go together surprisingly well.

I think flowchart ken has changed to tatsumaki ken
I have seen a lot spinning Kens today in particular.

There's no punishment whatsoever for now so yeah, SF4 wasn't even close to this

Also you just press the PS button > start > quit application, it's that simple lol

Don't be letting that Shimmy tech loose in the wild.

It isn't even the damn chars, I can beat em usually, but the health recoveries are always low. ALWAYS.

Ruins it all.

Oh so it'll be 100% accurate to normal Alex then

The other powerups are barely useful too.

I have a good feeling that Alex is gonna be my go-to main. Like all this is practice before the main event.

I'm pretty sure for crush counters you need to hit a move on startup. The exceptions are DPs, which are always crush counter-able, but for normals and other specials you have to counter them before their active frames.

Are there any penalties for players who rage quit? Looking at recent posts here, it seems like a really big problem, and there's no excuse for any developer of a fighting game to not punish these players severely in order to deter them.

As far as I'm concerned, if you disconnect in the middle of a ranked game, that should count as several losses (not just one), and you should be unable to play any further ranked games for at least a day.

Christ, at the very least, design the online in such a way that if a player disconnects, the remaining player immediately gets a win, rather than nothing at all. Don't just fucking give them an error message and boot them back to the menu with nothing to show for it.
I agree with all this, especially being banned from ranked games for a while.

I've got casual and ranked search on. Tonight everyone on casual is destroying me. But I got a 6 winstreak on ranked.

Well back to silver after losing 600 points with Rashid :)

Some retard mashing Ken just took my 8 win streak. Feels bad man :<.

Somehow got matched up with a canadian laura that RQ'd on me 2 times before. I just messed with him and mashed crouch jabs for the whole round, then i shimmied away. Thats an exception right?

You mean quit the match yourself? Whatever the case is, they could now have proof of you doing it to send to Capcom for whatever their plan is to deal with the problem next week.

Gotta love the 90's.

Now that is some great math!

That would be super lame. I can already play Alex with SF3 outfit in SF3. Bring on new stuff!

What if his new look is fuck ugly, and the alternate is a Rufus outfit and hair-do ?

I'd take a classic every time...some of the alts Capcom comes up with are horrible.

Lost 6 rounds in casual while bouncing back and forth between random encounters and hard survival. Told my friend to get on my steam broadcast to watch me get destroyed, at least then we could laugh about it. Soon as he logs in I win 7 straight fights, I just now logged out. He thought I was a liar >_>.

0 consistency man.. *shrug*.

RQing a RQer is morally acceptable, but possibly intellectually questionable.

What if he sends that video to haunts and you get dinged?

"The machine chose me? Im the chosen one?"

I think SFV peaked way too early guys :p

I doubt Capcom is gonna ban anything but the worst and most constant RQers. Plus this is a good deterrent to not shimmy away for fear of Capcom throwing down that banhammer on ya.

Jesus Christ that video was informative. Thanks! What's the best way to input instant stomp? Having a hard time getting it out in training mode and I obviously should practice that.

Edit. Never mind. Just need to clean up my inputs.

So...I'm rank 22k, wake up the next morning and I'm 20k. Win a couple of matches and I'm 18k, go to training for 30 minutes and I'm 19k. I decide to go to the ranking leaderboards and they have me with lower LP than what I actually have...

I'm confused, here.

The ranking server updates at intervals right now, so it's always a bit outdated.
There's also no overall poy of points. Other people moving up and down the ranks will also affect how you are doing.

I wish dickheads at my rank who are clearly much better than I am wouldn't spam taunt when they stun me two rounds in a row. The BM gets to me hard.

Yeah i thought that but im not really worried about it. I was more asking from a moral standpoint haha.

I just read about this, what a dumb and desperate way to combat rage quitting. Also they are saying this will only affect extreme cases, so I guess they will make an example of high ranking rage quitters and reset their LP/Fight Money. They should also force a "Rage Quitter" Title on them :)
But I guess primarily they are hoping that the possibility of a punishment will reduce the frequency of rage quits.

Ugh, I hate being on the borderline between bronze and super bronze. The penalty for losing is so fucking high, and the pressure of not getting demoted really gets to me. I really need to quit and fall back when things are going south. X_X

A lot of timing, you gotta get used to her prejump frames, it's a fastest input thing, the lower the better in most cases.

Don't worry, I know how you feel. I lost my 9 game win streak due to a shoryuken happy Ken.

The first thing I try to do online is figure out if they are going to mash out reversal srk or cannon spike constantly.

It sucks having to totally change playstyle into the lame "bait out the mashed reversal!" game, particularly since ranked isn't best of three games like it oughta be, but it is what it is.

I lose first round a bunch to those types of players then go on to win 2 and 3 with 80% health.

I'm guessing it's either going to be LP resets (seems more likely/easier, but less discouraging) or manual account-level bans from ranked, coming in waves (less likely because they'd need that system in place already), rather than a real coded system. At least for the near term.

awesome job looking forward to the next one. you doing good work for chun.

Do you guys think rage quitting is more rampant in SV5 or in SV4?

Also, how do people rage quit so quick, do they just explode out of their chairs and pull the power cord out of their ps4's?

I feel like there were just as many rage quitters when SFIV dropped as well. I figure people buy into the hype but aren't prepared for how frustrating competitive play can be. Over tbe next few months most RQs will just abandon the game altogether thank goodness.

I get why the characters had big hands/feet in the 2D games (and even SFIV), but did we really need them in this game? They are ridiculously big.

LOL I love it!

Then he looks ugly and you will love it anyway. But I seriously doubt it will be bad considering how good the designs have been so far (that Laura story costumes is horrible though).
