Thanks to ExMachina for being an awesome Cammy for footage :)

Already know who I'm doing next :D
it's Mika

Honestly I feel that the Hillside plaza theme should of been Laura's theme and vice versa. That theme is way to good to be a stage theme honestly.

They might, but his fat ass is so slow it never came to mind until way later. Your Gief is impossible to jump over with this fatso, as well.

Gief can't jump for shit against those chains and that mohawk either :\

Although really, I think it's just "Gief can't jump against anyone cos his floaty ass will be seen a mile away" maybe.

Birdie has an excellent anti air in cMP, and his EX Bull Revenger is imperceptible to the human eye. :V

I've got a bad jumping habit, and Birdie is very much a ground character. You were beating me in the button war, but the punishes I did get away with ended up being very damaging. That's all that carried me through the matches.

Let's play again later, my best time for matches is in about 3 hours or so.

First time I ran into Dhalsim online. Had no idea what I was doing and he completely cheesed me with yoga fire and punches.

I suck so bad

Rush that shit down!

My trips to Yoga class

Got some decent ranked matches in. Lost more than I won, but still came out with a little more LP than I started with. My time off in training mode and looking at tournament footage actually helped me. It seems like the general userbase has surpassed me in LP, but I'm getting the hang of Sim and stealing bonus LP because of the league difference.

Here are my last 4 ranked matches: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V-J43ZyH5_0

I lose to a Ryu and a Necalli, but learn from that and end up beating a Ken and another Necalli. This was my first time forcing myself to use more of Dhalsim's V-Skill, and it's finally starting to click. I struggled against jump happy opponents before but I realize that if you prepare for their jumps by using V-skill it really throws their game off.

Improvements observed:
+ I'm using more v-skill than before
+ I'm getting the hang of using jab against jumps
+ Drills have become a part of my offence now.

Things I still need to work on:
- Not panicking in situations where I have a crush counter
- Using gale
- Not mashing throw when under pressure

If you guys have more tips for me I'd appreciate em.

The second match in your video, vs Necalli. At the end of the 2nd round you have your opponent burning on your flame carpet and you go for IAT BNB, but after the J.HP, you go for a cr.HP that whiffed, costing you that round and the match. Maybe just be aware of distance next time. B+MK might have reached him, which could have been cancelled into yoga flame xx CA. I'm the opposite of you, though. I need to use cr.HP more often to get that extra damage off IAT combos.

Be mindful of slides. Try to use 'em at max distance more. Also, Sim's V-Trigger is great, but don't forget about his V-Reversal. These are stuff I need to work on, too.

That's a bit late for me actually, but we'll see. Just post in this thread and I'll say yea or nay I guess.

Or if I'm just not around then it's not lol

Dhalsim's slide is so weird, I have no idea why though.
Seems so throw everyone off.

Also, all Dhalsim's I've played have a lot of LP eventhough they kind of suck. It's a noob killer.

It's a bit late for me as well, but I share an internet connection and if I want to play games online, it usually has to be when everyone else is sleeping.

Was there anything from my Birdie that was tough to deal with, or was I just getting lucky that entire time?

Finally beat Survival on Normal for everyone. 400k by the end of it (including easy for pre-order costume).

I don't know if I should put myself through Hard, though, and just wait for daily challenges or the new modes to pick up the rest of the 200k fight money I need for the remaining 2 season 1 characters.

How much harder is hard, really?

What technique did you do to clear Ken's normal? I was able to clear Hard with him using MP Shoryus from 30 - End. I really need to find all the AI busting tech for each character.

Every single hit was lucky

:P

Nah you had good buttons. St. mk is tough for Gief, or at least...my gief, to deal with. Sweep's pretty good too, and probably st. mp.

Dolphin dive at opportune intervals was tough for me to deal with too, at least at first. I didn't get good punishes on it.

Dolphin Dive needs to be on point, or Birdie's recovering for weeks afterwards.

You perfected me with those SPDs on my wakeup. I have no answer for that besides jumping straight up.

Same method as you used for hard.

Thus far I've been getting pretty far with jump in combos for most characters, and those without good ones just spamming invincible moves (i.e. MP Shoryus with Ken and Ryu).

ARG, I've had it with survival hard. I take back what I said about liking survival mode lol. MP ken isn't working for me. Last night just because, I tried out doing the same thing with Ryu instead and got to lv 43 before Birdie destroyed me. That's it, nothing but ranked matches until the March update hits. Time to take out my frustration online!

Rage quitters being bumped down to low levels is nice... for the people in higher levels. But it just means the people who aren't in those higher levels (aka the majority) are going to have to deal with their BS. What they should do is give them negative LP and create a sub-tier for those with negative LP to crawl out of. Rage quitting in that tier results in an even lower score, so they have to honestly win their way out.

I think deducting points and adding a time out period should be enough. Oh, and give the other player the win each time.

I'm back in rookie, lol. Haven't played all weekend. Also just got matched with a 16 win streak Laura! I'm sure they're real!

Update: yeah ok they were real. Nearly perfect KO'd me twice. I assume they're on the way up.

Most players underestimate just how unsafe his slide his. Dhalsim gets away with a lot of silly stunts in general, but people end up complaining that he needs nerfs instead.

So, if i'm playing against a PC player and the game ran flawlessly during the first round, but during the second i start to suffer lag is probably because he did the alt tab thing, right?

Yeah. When i was playing Dota 2 they had a system where if you quit too many matches in a short period, you get temporarily placed in a pool with a bunch of goons and doofuses who call each other names and quit the game willy nilly. You have to finish like 10 games to get back into regular matchmaking, but it is matching you with other quitters and griefers so it could take like 20 games or more to actually get that many games finished. It's a horrible experience, but it is totally fair.

If you just lower their rank they will end up being matched with people who are new to the game, or people who are bad at the game but are possibly good sports.

Survival needs some serious re-work. Someone tell me why clearing this mode with an alt doesn't unlock colors for the default costume as well. What were they thinking?

Finally made it to Bronze today. Had 12 matches in Ranked for a 50% win rate. A big improvement over the 20% I had this weekend. That's without being able to do a Shoryuken to save my life. And being clueless about wake ups.

As a Mika player, how do I deal with his teleports?
Jab on-reaction, pressure him with blockstrings and potential command grabs afterwards since he'll drop down next to you. Play the grounded game and be patient if he shows restraint, since any decent Dhalsim will anti-air Mika relatively easily thanks to her high jumping arc. She also has good normals to whiff punish or beat his limbs clean:

Her options are not limited to the above either, so find out what works in Training Mode. Got stomped 3 - 17 against a really solid Mika (who was in the top 90 or so at the time) a little while back and the tension I felt was something else due to her corner shenanigans.

I think what throws people off is how quick it is.
Might be the case, but even on-hit they're easily punishable barring borderline pixel perfect spacing.
