Just tried playing this abomination of a game again. Matchmaking still broken with random disconnects.

Edit: Oh, I forgot long loading times into menu on PC. Still no rage quitter penalty.

Is random disconnects a common problem of the game? I never actually had that

Online (aka battle lounge) is working fine for me since last week, after a horrendous first week. It's sad that some people still have problems, I hope Capcom is still working on it.

random disconnects? had one or two since game launched. quitter penalty should be in soon, hopefully....

I know LP aren't everything, but losing 4 straight games to people around 1200-1500 and than destroying a 4100 Dictator and a 3600 Ryu is just annoying, so inconsistent.... But yeah LP don't mean much, the 1200 Gief was the best player I fought in those last 6 games.

Cammy needs buffs, not nerfs.

Just give her back her c.hp crush counter and maybe a better hitbox on j.lk and she's good for season 2 unless they hand out some stupid buffs.

I can't believe you're attacking the official tier list. Numbers don't lie, people.

that site uses official stats to track online character win rate. it doesn't take into account character representation or player ability. it is not a tier list, nevermind an official tier list.

I think I'm gonna give a shot at battle lounge later, is it possible to change characters between matches in that mode ?

it is if you turn on character select when you create the lounge :)

Slow matchmaking is really killing the online experience for me :(

It's hard to rank up or make up your LP loss if it takes 20 min to find a match so I end up losing momentum or simply get bored.

Has anyone find a way to make matchmaking faster ?

Heh On PC myself and have had the totally opposite experience. Love this game to death.

Well, I can consistently get to the mid 20s in survival with R. Mika now (4/5 tries or so today). I usually die to Ryu, Zangief, or Nash, depending on which one randomly decides to go crazy aggressive AI.

The last time I actually perfect'd Ryu for example, only to lose one or two rounds later.

I don't plan to do hard mode but it'd be nice to do normal.

My one accomplishment today was learning to use the wingless airplane for throws occasionally (uppercut -> EX wingless airplane), though my QCF's are unreliable.

What are you playing on? I get matches every 1 - 2 minutes.

PS4, my region is Europe

Two days ago, suddenly it got much better and I was getting matches in a good rate (3 min) and I thought that the problem is fixed, however the following days it got back to the long wait for a match

I am only talking Ranked matchmaking btw, I haven't tried to play casual.

Hey, a friend of mine is thinking of buying the game for Steam on his new-fangled Macbook Pro. It's the very latest, very best one: quad-core i7 2.5GHz with 16GB of RAM and an AMD Radeon R9 M370X 2GB GPU.

1) How well do you reckon the game will run? All I know is that it runs surprisingly well - 60FPS on medium at 1080p - on my PC, but then it's a 3.5-year-old desktop (though the GPU is pretty bad by today's standard: 1GB Radeon HD6850)

2) Does the game run natively on Macs, or do you have to bootcamp it?

NERFS

Chun and Cammy lose their annoyingly good 3 frame Jabs. Why do these characters have 3 frame Jabs when throws have 5 frame startup? What possible reason is there for these characters to have such a big advantage?

Cammy's Hooligan slide (doing Hooligan and not hitting a button) being unsafe on block. Maybe EX remains safe.

Dhalsim's Yoga Flame being made more unsafe on block. He's the only character with a fireball that's safe on block unless you have super. Why?

Chun's EX Lightning Legs being made more unsafe on block. Why is it safe unless you have super? This move is so amazingly good right now, it has multiple ways to confirm into, it lets her in, and if you block it this still allows her to dictate the match and possibly throw you or do Hungetzun or something.

Karin's Tenko possibly being made more unsafe on block. Just a personal pet peeve; this move seems to be safe online for some reason. I know how to punish it, I know I can punish it, but for some reason online it's hard to punish it on block. I think it's -4 right now on block, so where's the harm in adding a few extra negative frames so it's not as abusable online?

Take away the juggle ability of Ken's V-Skill Kick. Why if he hits you out of the air with his V-Skill running Kick can he then juggle into his SRK? Another personal pet peeve, but it's just dumb and it's dumb-looking.

wayyyy too early to start discussing nerfs

Just finished Bison's normal survival mode. That was way tougher than Chun, Ken, Cammy and Nash's runs. It took me three tries and Necalli at level 29 was totally aggro for some reason. Bison almost killed me with three seconds left on the clock as a player challenge sat there tempting me too. Damn, that was definitely the most stressful survival run yet. It's pretty good on normal difficulty. Hard and hell modes can die in a fire, though.

Take note of the times you play at. As a Euro it gets a bit more complex, but you probably want to play at times when Americans are active. Anywhere from 3PM to 10PM EST should have plenty of people logging on. You'll have to use one of those time zone converters in your case. Also, it helps to play with 3-5 bar connections to snag more people. Anyone looking only for five bars shouldn't be surprised when it takes longer to find matches.

1) If at all, not very well. That GPU is well below a 750 TI which has to play at 900p medium. Your 6850 is above 750 TI performance so it makes sense.

2) Game is Windows-only with a Linux version planned.

Yeah I don't have either of those things on PC. Long loading times? Something isn't right on your end.

He has to bootcamp it.

The M370X is a weaksauce GPU but then I have no idea how you were able to 1080p/60 on that ancient HD6850.

I'm having flashbacks to Vanilla SF4 Sagat with this shoto army right now. You just have to know the match-up by heart. Which in return also makes it harder and harder for them. Lights out if they get nerfs at some point.

edit: I'm not saying they are as strong as Vanilla Sagat!

Aw, that sucks. I was confident a top of the line MBP would be able to run it.

Renekton, to answer your question, the game is probably CPU-intensive. I have an i5 3570K, though I have yet to overclock it.

Are you really sure it won't even run at 60fps on low if he compromises on resolution (say 720p)?

Finished all normal survivals, the most difficult for me was FANG, which is surprising because the character kinda cliked with me. Guess I didn't find the right way to cheese the CPU with him.
I'm now sitting on 420k FM, yeah !

Bison needs a 3f invincible psycho dragon punch and command grab. And then we're set for balance.

Necalli and Nash are like up there for most brain dead characters I'm fighting against.

Starting to win more than I lose. That happened very suddenly. Glad I have stuck with Necalli. I think I would have had faster success with my standard Cammy or a shoto but it has been very rewarding to learn something new. If you can actually get someone conditioned it is so much fun to put them on the caveman pain train.

I can't believe that Capcom hasn't yet patched some of the minor annoyances/glitches with the game yet, namely the PS3 controller driver support and d-input support on PC.

It's an online problem, doesn't happen at all in local. I don't think it's a problem with my network since it works fine most of the time. Also, i only accept matches with a 5 bars connection.

It's not an exaggeration :(
Sounds like a very unique problem, though. Especially since this netcode is designed to have no input lag.

Mmmm Laura Salt

Rmruxrr.gif

Best AA in the game with a hitbox extending above the move and with easy input.

That's how I bet M.Bison
