Nintendo Direct: new presentation announced for tomorrow

This is true, and Reggie has stated as such. However, no matter what way you spin it, Sony's 2015 E3 press conference was the stuff of legends, and it was done with announcing games everybody that get people excited (even if they were 1+ years away). I think there are times that call for holding your secrets close, and times when you have to just unload all your ammo. Nintendo has done a little too much of the former in my book.

Well, sony's e3 press conference's legendary titles were MOSTLY third party. They were fortunate enough to grab those third party reveals for their conference. Nintendo has no such 3rd party luxury. I'm sure if in some alternate universe where Wii U was on top this gen, nintendo could have delivered most of those same reveals during their press conference (ff7, shenmue 3, etc).

Nintendo just has less ammo, unfortunately. Their 'silence' is because of that. They announce what they can when they can, but it's clearly not enough and there's not much they can do at the moment. Everyone hopes NX puts them back at sony levels of 3rd party support, but who knows if they can pull that off.

Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem squad, let's go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! RELEASE DATE AND DEMO ANNOUNCEMENT HYPE!

Did japan get a demo?

Imagine that leak mentioning NX teaser.

I wonder if they will even acknowledge NX during the broadcast. Something like this maybe:

Even if they said there would be a blowout of the NX at the Electronic Entertainment Expo in June, people would pop boners.

That's how badly people want to hear about it.

I don't believe the leak whatsoever, but I do believe this Direct might unfortunately be quite boring as no doubt we'll get more info on Twilight Princess as it isn't out yet, more stuff on Hyrule Warriors 3ds, Boxboy 2 and that Amiibo game already out in Japan, an announcement that Star Fox is delayed again, more Pokken Tournament info, and probably new Metroid footage.

I'd love to see some info regarding Paper Mario, Pikmin 4 or a new Zelda trailer, but that's classic fodder for E3 surely. I'll be keeping my expectations low for this one :(

Lol it's be so funny if they're just like "shit right, we didn't show anything during that a Pokemon event, here's a trailer"

Man these things have going on since 2011 eh?

Looks like it's unusual to even have a Direct in March at all if history is any indicator. Guessing their covering what's coming out between here and E3, and it would not be unusual to have a seperate direct on a major game sometime between this direct and e3.

They'll probably go through upcoming releases, maybe the odd teaser. Maybe they'll go over the upcoming dlc for Fire Emblem as well, or tell us what's next for Splatoon.

People are really expecting WiiU stuff to be held back for E3? The NX and it's titles will be 100% of the focus, surely? No time for last gen talk when you're showing off brand new hardware AND software for it at the same time?

There's hope and there's delusion. I don't think anyone on this entire board is expecting that to ever happen.

NX will definitely be the focus, but they're not going to only talk about NX games.

I think people are going to be bummed out if they expect a ton of NX software there.

Yeah, I really really hope no one is EXPECTING it, but it certainly seems many are hoping it.

You're expecting a 100% NX E3? Really? Even sony/microsoft talked about their last gen in 2013's E3.

Alright, what's the new amiibo line? Any guesses?

They'd be fools not to focus on splatoon. Also it's zelda and metroid's 30th, with both franchises getting new entries. I'd expect at least a zelda U line of amiibo, but not announced until E3 or later. Possibly even just rehashes of the smash amiibo, just different models.

maybe the reason the announcement was so disappointing is because they knew Nintendo wanted the main reveal in the direct, but also wanted to reveal it on pokemon day. I doubt this is the case, but not impossible

It's so sad that expecting to see a game that was revealed in 2014 and is supposed to come out this year, is an unrealistic expectation going into this direct.

Alright, what's the new amiibo line? Any guesses?

Pokemon 20th Anniversary

Charizard
Blastoise
Venusaur
Machamp
Gengar
Pikachu
Mewtwo

Compatible with Pokken (except Blastoise and Venusaur), and unlocks something unique. Mewtwo, Pikachu and Charizard also compatible with Smash Bros.

It's weird there hasn't been a dedicated Pokemon amiibo line yet. This is a good opportunity for that to happen.

Oh shit. I'd buy Machamp no questions asked, would seriously think about Venusaur, and would prooobably get Pikachu if it's old dumpy Pikachu.

Good call.

If they are not talking about Pokken, Pokemon Moon & Sun, or Zelda Wii U then I don't care. They 100% won't talk about NX.

I'd buy a Gengar amiibo

They probably won't talk about Pokemon because they just announced the new games and Pokken comes in like, 3 weeks, but amiibo news is possible.

Zelda U I can see more info coming from this.
