That's why he said a couple exceptions :vI thought Splatoon, Mario Maker, and FE Fates have been some of Nintendo's best games in the last ten years, honestly.
But I guess I'm not seeing it from everyone else's perspectives.

Why would Nintendo go 3rd party for their fans? That doesn't make any sense.
One of the worst directs Ive seen, as bad as the E3 one. Im honestly glad this was leaked yesterday otherwise it really would have been a waste of 40 minutes.
This year, the only games I want are Pokemon Sun/Moon and Zelda Wii U/NX. Looks like they (3DS and Wii U) will both be dead after release. Everything else shown/announced just bored me to tears.
Man, the NX reveal had better have some amazing games because I am getting really tired of these B & C team creatively bankrupt games they are dumping out at this point.
Wait, I just realized.
Where's Detective Pikachu?

Well of course they won't they are a Business and want to make money. However I believe that instead of alienating user bases they should try to maximize consumer availability for their IPs.
So either launch consoles at the same time as other companies with similar specs (to gain third party support so the consoles are a worthwhile investment for the consumer) or go thirdparty and create awesome games with a huge user base.
Well considering that Nintendo makes most of their money on hardware it makes no sense, not to mention they would have to completely change how they make games. So that those fans can then buy their games because they can't justify the purchase of a single-publisher console? Makes a lot of sense to me.
No shit, but this would have been a great opportunity to do it. And at an official reveal event and not some padded out and dull Direct. At any rate, hopefully they will soon.
I think those are good games and were among the exceptions I was thinking about, although I don't love them as much as some do. But everything else (which comprises a car majority of their output) has not even come close to catching my attention.
Just leaving my opinion. Didn't mean for it to come of condescending.

Looks like I misinterpreted it. My bad!Lol neither was I. Sorry. I was being condescending to the 95% of people not like you.
Maximize consumer availability of their popular brands, but essentially a death sentence to pretty much everything else. If you think current Nintendo relies too much on Mario and Zelda, then a third party Nintendo would have little else since they no longer have a reason to diversify
This thread is just one giant mood whiplash from post to post. Entertaining, to say the least.
E3 is still ahead of us, so I guess if you're dissatisfied, look forward to that? At least we'll get Zelda news then.
Metroid = ISOLATION
How does the series producer not understand this basic concept?!!
Holy fuck is it an awful time to be a Nintendo fan. Fuuuuuck
Every Direct are the delusional and the senseable. The leaks wwere clearly true
How do self-identified Metroid-fans like you not understand that Federation Force is a spin off that aims for something different than the mainline games ?
Ignorance I guess.
Well amibo wouldn't work.also they wouldnt be a to take there time since the only source of income is games. We seen what happen when a hardware maker becomes a software maker, it not pretty. They could still sell amiibos, their extremely limited collector editions, and have their mynintendo service. They could also take their time with software since they dont need to support a userbase by themselves, and also dont need to worry about making money on hardware
