Well shit. This sucks. My one friend wisely got his mask upgraded to 4 and me and my other friend didn't. So we were going to run around the map and repeat them until we got our masks to 4 as well.

There are some base upgrades that add Contamination levels. You could focus these to help him out.

Its early days but the overall view seems to be people enjoy it. Its a different feel to many other games out there. It does suit a co-op style a bit more, since you get to progress much faster and end up in some crazy firefights but there is enough content early on to solo yourself.

So far the game has a great atmosphere and it does things pretty well early on. Interesting to see how things pan out in the coming weeks and months.

Thanks! I'll stay open to a purchase then. Gonna check some gameplay vids soon.

The only way to get the best loot is to get it from the DZ where I have a chance to be killed by other players and drop it all? Not complaining just wondering.

Sorry, because it's probably been answered a lot of times but...

How is this game for a single player?, is it completely focused in coop gaming or multiplayer, or is it fun enough for a single player?

Can you go solo through the dark zone or is it suicidal?

I think you misunderstood. My one friend, choose wisely and made sure to get all 3 upgrades that upgrade his filter mask. Me and my other friend, did not get these since I didn't see them at first. So we spent our medical supplies already. So I was wondering if we could just repeat those events to get more, so we didn't have to do more missions and get ahead of our one friend (whose filter mask is level 4), since we were hoping to farm the upgrades out before he got on.

You will have to continue on for the new missions

I'm still a bit confused about the DZ levels/tiers. Should I wait to level up to 15 if I'm messing around in the dark zone? Or are the rewards at the next tier of dark zone better?

I played all SP up until now level 15. Outside of DZ it is fine and fun, DZ you can still do but it is a bit more annoying as all NPCs are elite or purple (less elite but not normal) still it is doable and you can always farm lower level NPCs.

I have played everything solo so far and I am now level 29.

Dont wait until 15 as players could be way higher than you, although you still can. 14 you will be the top of your tier of players. Also the dz is level zoned so you can farm NPCs at your level at different parts of the dz. So if you are 15 you can kill level 15 NPCS and get level 15 loot drops in the level 15 zone. Tier is just the level of other players.

Man, I love this game. Played for 14 hours in 3 sessions. Its so much fun doing coop with a friend. Wasn't this hyped about a game for a long time.

Ahhh I see. I think the random encounter stuff can be done again but I am not sure if they have some respawn timer on them.

I should check but I am not sure if you get Supplies from re-doing the main story mission on harder difficulty or not. Never really checked. :D

Crafting will yield some high end gear also.

Forcing all the BIS stuff to be DZ only would be frustrating for many players.

I went in at level 12 and did fine, but I would avoid zones that are marked 12-15 or higher, some pretty tough enemies there. Level 10 and up for the level 1-14 Dark Zone is recommended, plus at least a level 3 contamination filter.

I mostly play single player and it's great. Only time I've grouped up is through the matchmaking for hard missions because it's more enjoyable even with randoms then to struggle dying a lot by yourself. But after those couple times I leave the group and go solo so I can enjoy stopping and taking in everything from the world, most people online rush from objective to objective but it's much better to take your time when the environments are this detailed. It's an amazing game, even for solo play, and the matchmaking is so easy it's always there for if you ever have an inkling to want to group for a mission.

Might just be me...

when I first found the recording of the little girl winning the radio event to go and se The Nutcracker, it made me wonder what happened. Only seen two recording of the same thing but it hit me hard.

I really hope/wish Ubi have hooks into the world that explain some of what happened to more everyday people.

Got mine at like lvl 6. One shot headshot kills, so OP!
Yeah I got one last night, I've been wrecking shit. Wish I would have had it last night when I failed to complete a hard mission last night multiple times with my friend. Can't remember name of mission, believe it was in a department store

Sorry I wasn't being clear. I'm level 13 and have been messing around in the dark zone. Should I delay leveling up since once you are level 15 you are in a different dark zone grouping?

Fine, but much more enjoyable with multiplayer.

unlike Destiny (which seems to be the baseline for comparion) it is incredibly easy to make or join a random group so no need for LFG websites or anything like that

kinda lame that at level 20 (DZ level 15) I seemingly have no way of spending my DZ credits until rank 30. Seems to be a requirement for everything at the vendors.

Random question. Are we able to do multiple characters? When I logged out it showed me my character then if I pressed R1 it tabbed across to an empty slot to make another. Looked like 4 slots in total. Why would you want 4 different characters? As all skills can be reset and respeced can't they. In destiny I understand it with the 3 seperate classes. But struggling to see a reason for it in this. Anyone got any ideas?

more chances to repeat the same daily. different people playing on the same account wanting their own characters

You can get high-end gear from pve too. You just get it faster from the DZ.

Ah I would assume maybe, I am level 14 now just doing DZ for a bit to level up my DZ ran. Once I reach DZ 15 i will probably do some PVE levels before coming back to the DZ at 20ish. That being said I haven't been ganked once yet so I doubt it matters that much.

Where do you get the daily mission? Not sure I've seen it

It's on your map when you hit 30. It's marked with a little cross around the circle, and when you select it it says "daily mission eligible" just scroll around looking at the missions until you see the icon. Pretty sure you get two a day, that's what I've been getting.

Andddd Level 30. 25h 9m. But I did spend 2 hours in the DZ at level 14.

Still have 1 mission on the map, a few side missions and then another full area i've not gone to yet. Will finish that stuff off tomorrow I think. Been playing way too long. And then DZ time, lots of DZ.

Oh not even close to 30 yet :p But thanks!
