Stardew Valley |OT| Resting Under a Harvest Moon [Up: now on PS4]

oh man i dunno if i want to optimise sprinkler/scarecrow patterns or just make a cool looking compound and see what's up

i'm scared of these degrading fences tho : (

Is there a better way to get clay than just tilling at the beach? I just tilled the entire area and only got a small handful of the stuff.

Wish this game would go on sale. Looks like so much fun. The only reason I haven't bought it yet is it looks like I would waste the next 100+ hours of my life on it easily.

So, you believe you'd spend 100+ hours on a game but still don't want to spend its price?

When you can just replace them with stone or higher graded fences. There is also a mod that prevents degrading if you like the wood look.

Got myself a Slime Hutch and hatched two slime eggs so far. Seeing what I can do with slimes since you need a lot of iridium for them lol.

I can't make buildings. I'm crippled by not wanting to put them in a bad place. I'm so bad at planning and design. I don't have any grand plan for what I want my farm to look like yet and it's making me paralyzed at the thought of putting a chicken coop or barn somewhere I don't want it.

Related to this, is there any way to fill in a tilled piece of land so that it can be built on? I know they fill in randomly over time, but waiting for certain tiles to fill back in is getting annoying.

Use the pickaxe.

Also: I only had a small plan for how my 128 crops should look like. Slowly I added a coop, a barn, two silos and a stable. I will never use 100% of the map. The bottom right will be filled with grass. 10% on the left side of the map is already a small forest for gathering wood. The rest that's left will be filled with grass.

I currently have 10 Lightning Rods on my farm and I'm waiting for a storm. Should I create more of them to get more battery packs?

10 is fine, I guess? How much do you need battery packs? I have no idea if they sell well. Also, I'm not sure if the typical storm would fill 10 rods. You should try with 10 before building more

Is there some specific formula for progressing through the mines?

I can't seem to get past level 12 because I am always running out of energy (and time in the day). It seems to take forever at times to find a ladder.

I had decent luck tilling in the "sandy" areas in the mines around level 10. It still took awhile to get 10 clay, but it wasn't as rare as it seems to be other places.

Are you using the elevator to continue from the nearest level?

Wow...didn't even notice that. I tried to access it the very first time I walked into the mines, but it didn't work, so I just assumed I would be notified when someone fixed in later in the game.

Apparently though it can take you down every 5 levels. Ugh...so much time wasted.

Just made 13k from blueberries. Holy shit.

This game is magnificent.

Abigail spoiler
I played that arcade game together with Abigail. This game is full of surprises and heart. I love it so much!

I litterally just spent 30 minutes tying to get past that. Had to hook up the 360 controller lol.

You weren't playing with one in the first place is your problem. ;)

Love the controller support honestly. It gets a bit wonky with the mouse cursor at times, so there's room for improvement, but sitting back with a controller is really enhancing my calm playing this.

If you right click on the sell box you can retrieve the last sold items, they will stay at the top of your inventory bar.

The shopkeepers don't have that feature.

The biggest goof I have made so far is I managed to build a Well instead of a Silo.

wife question: "how am I supposed to buy more than one wood? I had to buy 50 pieces and had to make 50 clicks"

thanks to whoever may help :p

Shift click buys 5 at a time.

Anyone know if this is coming to mac?

No official plans for ports, but he's interested in doing ports to Mac/Linux and to consoles, so it's likely. In the meantime, I believe the modding community is working on something, and people have it running under wine/wineskin.

It's funny: from the screenshots, the art style looks all cutesy-retro, but after watching it on a big ol' plasma... it's really beautiful. Debating on if I should go try it on the projector...

I was having the worst time getting these bundles in the community center filled because I kept selling everything for fat stacks of profit every time and I got confused about stuff I should and shouldn't have saved.

But now I built a chest specifically for bundle items and put it apart from my other inventory chests. Now I can simply hit ESC, hit the bundle button and cross-check all my stuff at home, place the necessary items in the chest and ship everything else for cash. Completed like six bundles in a single day just now and my inventory is clean as a whistle.

Fuck yes, inventory management. This game rules.

That moment in the middle of the night where Window's automatically shutting down everything to update and restart... And it causes you to realize it's trying to tell you to go to bed.

Oh my... I thought that I had to wait until fall to get the greenhouse, because I needed 5 quality pumpkins for the Quality Bundle. Then I realized that the bundle only wants 3 out of those 4 required crops :O³

that feel when you realize there's only 2 days left in the growing season and your current crops take more than 2 days to mature and you won't need to water them
