The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky the 3rd coming west for PC in 2017

Feeling really bad for folks just reading the the title/OP who are getting hype about it coming to PSP and not reading the subsequent posts lol.

Related: I own the first game digitally on PSP (mostly so I could play it on PSTV on my monitor) but only got a few hours into it. It's been at the top of my pile of games to get back to, how relevant are the carryover bonuses into the third game? I haven't bought the second game on any platform yet.

The dream lives on! Oh, how we took to those beautiful blue skies~

Probably not gonna bother picking up the first two now that they're discounted, then.
I don't know when I'll be willing to invest that much time on multiple pc rpgs.

Cold Steel I/II will be more than enough for now.

The storefront is literally dying, what do you want them to do
It doesn't change anything. Just that you can't access it from a PSP.

That means half of those are from Steam and Gog. Impressive.
More like FC and that's it.

XSeed can go dunk themselves over not bringing over the PSP version. I hope this affects sales. I was intending on getting SC once Third was confirmed, not anymore.

I don't get the impression SC didn't super great for them on PSP as a 2015 release as-is...now imagine releasing a subsequent title for the PSP in 2017.

They're crazy for not porting this over to PS4 if not PS3.

A system port would likely be in Falcom's hands and nothing to do with XSeed.

There it is. Please sell well enough for the Crossbell games. Trails to Zero is no problem (Japanese PC release can be used), but the only PC release for Trails to Azure is in Chinese, so that might pose a bit of a problem.
I'm getting ahead of myself, though. 2017 for 3rd yesssss.

Edit: Should probably clarify that it isn't the language problem. I meant to say it would require XSEED to license the PC port from another company that they might not be able to (Joyoland.com Limited), and it comes with terrible DRM similar if not identical to what is described here. Falcom's Japanese release of Trails to Zero removes this DRM. I have no doubt Sarah could work her programming magic to make the release up to par with all of XSEED's other Falcom PC releases.

Yes how DARE XSeed refuse to release a port for a 12 year old dead platform

And before someone says it I'm well aware you can play PSP games on a Vita, but lets be real, the market for people buying PSP games for Vita is really slim

What was the Digimon news?

He's probably referring to the fact that the second episode of Digimon Adventure Tri just came out.

Probably going to end up finishing both games (FC, and SC) before this one comes out. Great news for the people interested in these days!

wait one fuckin minute

so i bought fc on pc, then figured i'd play it portably on vita so i bought it there, and now 3rd is PC exclusive?
god dammit, should i just continue my PC save?

I take it that no PSP basically confirms that SC didnt fair any better there than it did on Steam.

Steam probably makes up most of the sales, but I don't think this really confirms that. SC probably would have to have sold EXTREMELY WELL on PSN for that option to open up. There are just too many hurdles in releasing a PSP game in 2017.

Sucks for the people who want a portable version, though.

More people need to treat PC like a console though. I'll be playing this on my TV with a controller just like a console game.

Man, I'm so pissed off right now. At least port it to Mac, XSEED. I really, REALLY want to play this game.

How many would it sell?

SC is stumbling along in the 10k-20k range. How many would a Mac version have sold by this time? A few thousands, maybe?

There is no way that is worth the effort.

They probably have a few digits worth of data to justify this decision.

SXEED said from the start SC will be the last PSP game. FAlcom is probably done with that.

XSEED doesn't have programmers, they only localize.

They have ONE programmer. She won't be able to port the entire goddamn game by herself, though, so your statement still holds true.

No way. I can't even think of what so say.

Hehehe, can't wait to see people dig into the game.

The last star door still gives me the creeps...

Not sure why Chinese poses a huge issue, since they'd still have access to the original Japanese script from the non pc version. And just the non pc version to compare to as well. The main reason they need a pc version that exists is just so they don't need to port the entire game, right?

I wasn't expecting to hear anything about Third until after Cold Steel 2 so it's good to see that it is confirmed now.

The Chinese port isn't a problem because it's in Chinese, it's a problem because it runs at an awful resolution and is riddled with DRM. It's basically an upscaled PSP port running in a window.

Sorry about the "PSP" mention. I was preparing an article because I figured news was coming today, it came out mid-prep and I forgot to remove PSP in the article.

At least the title was correct. =P
