The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky the 3rd coming west for PC in 2017

Awesome!! 3rd is a great game and a nice end to Sky and setup for Zero/Ao and Cold Steel. People should really enjoy it. Especially Kevin fans :)

I'll play it whenever I get a portable that runs PC games, then. I'd never finish FC if I didn't play it on a portable device.

This is my favorite game in the series, and I didn't think English fans would ever get to play it. I'm very shocked.

The Chinese port isn't a problem because it's in Chinese, it's a problem because it runs at an awful resolution and is riddled with DRM. It's basically an upscaled PSP port running in a window.
I'd take it if need be. I'm pretty desperate. Honestly, if people are ok playing a psp game in 2017 at all, I'm not sure why lower resolution or stuff like that would matter to them

XSeed can go dunk themselves over not bringing over the PSP version. I hope this affects sales. I was intending on getting SC once Third was confirmed, not anymore.

Well XSEED has mentioned before that SC would be the last PSP ever published by them in the West. With the PSP storefront shutting down by the end of the month, you'll have to rely on your Vita, PC, or PS3 to download the game in your PSP machine and who knows if even half the audience owns a combination of those. I can't blame them for not able to bring TC to PSP but it sure does suck for players on that platform.

How many would it sell?

SC is stumbling along in the 10k-20k range. How many would a Mac version have sold by this time? A few thousands, maybe?

There is no way that is worth the effort.

Okay, okay. I'll pay one million dollars for just one copy of the mac port of the game if that satisfies them.

wait one fuckin minute

so i bought fc on pc, then figured i'd play it portably on vita so i bought it there, and now 3rd is PC exclusive?
god dammit, should i just continue my PC save?

I don't know if having a SC save does something in 3rd, but you should be fine anyway. It's independent from FC and SC.

---- not directed to you now ----

Guys we had accepted that we probably wouldn't see this game localized, ever. I understand wanting them on portable (I played all of them there too) but beggars can't be choosers. Rejoice in the good news instead of overreacting. PSP is 12 years old, it had a good run.

Oh my God, I can't believe this is actually happening! So fucking hyped!

I still haven't even played Cold Steel. Now the question is, do I hold off and play them after 3rd. Hmm....

Also, licensing. Something people always tend to overlook or forget about. If working with Joyoland were easy, we would probably have Ys Seven and Celceta on Steam in English.

It would matter because XSEED has higher standards than that for Steam. Remember, they coded in widescreen support for the older Ys titles - and I'm glad they're putting in the extra effort for the older titles, because there would be a hell of an outcry by Steam users if they left them as is.

Hell, they even added a new difficulty to Ark of Napishtim, 'Catastrophe Mode,' that made the game a lot more fun for people.

Pls I'm desperate. Don't ruin my dreams

Very happy about this news!

Question about data transfer between games. How big a deal is this feature? I already own the first two games on PSP, but obviously I wouldn't be able to transfer that save data over to the third game since its only on PC. Will I be missing out on much?

Its not out of the question for me to play the first two on PC instead, but I'd rather not since I already own them on PSP.

Thanks!

I'm so happy this was finally confirmed. I know some people on the team wanted to work on this, but I was worried about SC's sales.

Pay for VMwate Fusion or Parralels. The game can run on a toaster so it should work through modern VM software. Alternatively, spend that money on copy of Windows and dual boot. It's not particularly difficult either way.

Man, I didn't expect it but TC is greatly welcome. It may not make any financial sense but I really appreciate Xseed's hard work. To those complaining about PSP, you are talking a freaking PSP port in the year of our Lord, 2017. It would sell dozens, I tell you, dozens. (Need to find that gif).

If you have any sort of a computer you can probably play the game.

For 3rd, data transfer just gets you a couple of accessories. They're good, but not necessary.

why did they put the PSP versions on sale to celebrate the PC version only release of the 3rd game?

?????????????

Because not everyone is tied to a single platform. I played FC and SC on PSP and will play 3rd on PC

Why SHOULDN'T they put the PSP games on sale as well?
