Trump on CNN

Question: Do you believe you encouraged the protestors or violence?
Trump: I hope that my tone is not causing violence. It's a love-fest at my rallies.

Freedom of Speech? I'm confused. There's nothing about that in the sole sacred founding document, "The 2nd Amendment"

This is absurd. Anyone who thinks it's OK to act like this regardless if your stance on Trump, or your views on politics.. You're wrong. Trump's supporters have been idiots and these people are being idiots. When people start punching police officers it goes from protesting to acting like ass clowns.

When you say that everyone is racist, you yourself admit that you are a racist. Well, guess what? Not everyone is like you. "Everyone is racist" is such a horrible right-wing framing of racism and it's a shallow attempt at deflection.

I'm so sick of all his crap, let the guy have his rally, im not fond of the clown but atleast he doesn't give a shit and doesn't need to be purchased by lobbyists.. I don't know.. All these politicians are clowns...

If Trump can have his rally, people can have their protests.

Even if he's not bought out by lobbyists, he himself admitted to taking part in the political corruption he supposedly opposes. Under a Trump presidency, absolutely nothing with regards to corruption would change (and I would wager that it would get worse).

I don't understand why these reporters continue to give Trump a pass on this. He has no wiggle room, he said he personally wanted to punch someone in the face. If that isn't trying to incite violence wtf is?

Trump going double down on saying protesters were swinging and being the dangerous ones. Ok.
CNN going in saying there's been nothing seen of protesters being the violent ones.

Ratings, that's all they care about. It's no longer about reporting the news accurately.

Seriously though how you feel Schatt? Notable conservative poster that you are it would be interesting to get your thoughts.
Thoughts on Trump honestly...
I hate the fact that he's leading the GOP ticket... Every time I watch a debate I cringe when I listen to him..
But then the next day.. I speak to some intelligent people (of diverse cultures I might add) who just give me reasons to at least give consideration of him being a decent leader...
These reasons include.. He will be a master delegator.. Hire the right people..
To his stances are extreme for posturing in future negotiations
The guy is intelligent whether you like him or not
But my gut still gives me an uneasy feeling about him that I can't shake

I've been a Kasich supporter the whole time and wish the GOP came together to support him

Also I never liked Cruz - but this election season I have warmed up to him

I do not like trump but this really brings up questions of freedom of speech and freedom of association. Obviously people have the right to say anything about Trump and protest but Trump and his supporters should be able to have their event no matter how much you dislike him. This brings serious questions to my mind.

Agreed.

Tbh I think it's wrong when protesters try to ruin a rally. We either live in a democrazy or we don't. If we do, free speech, even if uncomfortable, is allowed.

Of course, that would be different if the government said Trump has gone too far and his movement is illegal. Then it should be shut down. But unless that happens, let him speak. Everybody here would complain if Trump supporters sabotaged a Clinton rally.

Yup.

If Trump can have his rally, people can have their protests.

Agreed.

His freedom of speech doesn't get higher value than someone else's.

What is going to happen with Trump's more extreme base if/when they lose the Presidency for the third time in a row? What are we going to be able to do about this hysteria? This anger is not going to die with the beast himself?

My best guess is that they would just wait until the next Trump-type candidate comes around for them to vote for - either that or they'll run back to the establishment Republicans. With that said, I definitely wouldn't rule out violence or an attempt at insurrection (at least from a few people).
