Hillary:"Where was Bernie when I got healthcare in 93?" Right there, she thanked him

Hillary seems like the type of person that bends the facts in their own head and actually believes it. I think she could potentially be dangerous as president. Especially when it comes to foreign policy.

You actually just described George W. Bush, which makes Hillary even scarier than expected now that I think about it.

If Bernie Sanders was standing right behind Hillary Clinton, why does he try to position her as being against universal healthcare every chance he gets? Could it be, possibly, a dishonest attack?

That's what she meant with the line. Not that Bernie Sanders literally wasn't there.

Don't know if this was answered but just look up why her "fight" for Universal healthcare failed and nobody ever talks about it.

Basically she got bought out by insurance companies, you know the corporations that she says don't own her.

What? Her fight for healthcare got her tarred and feathered politically

Uhhh...what? It failed because they opposed it. That's the opposite of being bought out.

Furthermore, Obamacare succeeded because the very first thing they did was get the Insurance companies on board. That's not selling out, that's making things happen.

Half of zero is still zero.

Hillary is reminding me of my first time posting on gaf in 2000 or 2001 I think. I was saying this and that in gaming threads, trolling, and people were remembering what I said in another in other threads with proof. It felt bad being exposed, then I learned that it's bad to lie when it comes to the internet. Your stuff is forever somewhere and accessible.

HillDawg999 is a noob.

He could believe it despite there being little chance of it happening. He's not out there just making shit up as he goes along.

Its not a matter of there being little chance, there's no mechanism by which it happens. Its like a promise to ensure that every student in Arkansas has masters degrees by the time you leave office. I absolutely believe it was something that just sprang into his head during that debate moment and then he doubled down on it after

He also didn't get the attacks that she did by placing herself in front of the issue and using her clout to attempt to get it passed. Hillary Clinton was beaten bloody by the right and by the health insurance industry for pushing universal healthcare. And this is important, because at several points in this race, Sanders has characterized her as being against universal healthcare "like every other country in Europe" because she's against his plan. That's what I think she's implying here, that if Bernie Sanders actually was around in the 90s (which he was), then he should know that she is very much for universal healthcare.

This is a fair way of reading it, though it's very poorly worded and opens it up for interpretations. Given the fair number of people with serious distaste for her, her campaign should really be more careful about such potential interpretations.

If anything, she should have been the one using the photo to make clear that not only was she there and fighting the fight - but hell, they were on the same side, with him backing her. [Lots of great symbolic imagery there for her as well.]

Instead, it's being used to cut her comment to pieces.

GI: You're obviously doing OK in the polls.

Clinton: Why yes, and I will in the actual election

GI: But you have strong contenders too. Like Bernie Sanders.

Clinton: Yeah, but here's the thing: where was he when I was trying to get healthcare in 93?

GI: Right there with you.

Clinton: What?

GI: Bernie Sanders, he was right there with you.

Clinton: No, but like he didn't actually do anything.

GI: Yeah. You even thanked him.

Clinton: I don't think so.

GI: I'm positive. He was there.

Clinton: Really?

GI: You even thanked him. There's evidence of it all over the internet.

Clinton: For getting healthcare and??

GI: Yep.

Clinton: I'm going to have to confirm that. That was supposed to be a killer argument"

As far as gaffes go this has to be one of the most hilarious ones.

I mean she wrote him a goddamn thank you note, lol

Hillary isnt doing herself any favors with these personal attacks against bernie. As much as I'd like Bernie to win, it's not going to happen. She's gonna win anyway, there's no point in going so hard against him, the only thing these attacks achieve is alienate most of his hardcore supporters who won't vote for her come november.

Not to mention most of these accusations are blatant lies.

"To Bernie Sanders, with thanks for your commitment to real health care access for all Americans and best wishes"
-Hillary Rodham Clinton 1993

She personally thanks him in the video: http://www.c-span.org/video/?c4536221/hillary-clinton-bernie-sanders-1993
"I'm grateful congressman Sanders could join us here today"

Gee, she lied again. What a surprise. Must have been so busy dodging sniper fire while praising Reagan on his AIDS work that she "misspoke".

She takes someone else's win and fucks it up. She's a clown.

John Lewis said, 'I never saw him.' It was a good jab. Hillary mimics this and fucks it up.

Obama brushed his shoulders off and everyone loved it. Hillary did it and it felt forced.

Stahp, Hillary.

The past few days(plus being reminded of that terrible Bosnia lie) have really soured me on Hillary. She's essentially a serial liar.

I hope American Democrat voters do the right thing and vote for Bernie. That, or the private email server issue makes her ineligible to run.

I feel the same way. Ultimately, I'll still vote for her if she's the Democrats nominee, but I'll feel awful about it. I'm just hoping she'd bring in with her a group of people that know what the hell they're doing - it's the only reason I'd vote for her, not because I actually want her as the President.

It's just insane how many random small to large lies she has released in the last week.

That's the real wild card. If Hillary gets indicted, Bernie will move on to the general and face Trump. That would actually be the best scenario for America. Bernie can take Trump easy and we would have a President people actually want.

It is kind of impressive to me how much a woman is dragged through the mud for being sarcastic, while men who lie escape scrutiny.

The most positive thing about this whole primary process, is that Hills or Berns will face Trump or Cruz in a general. If voter turnout is above 50% I don't see a path for either one to actually win the presidency. Just hoping voters don't become complacent.

What? She was being sarcastic? How did you reach that conclusion?

Have you seen the daily articles about Trump's bullshit?
I, too, would like to know where Bernie was when Hillary was out in public promoting the healthcare bill with a bulletproof vest on under her clothes. What was his skin in the game? Where was he in the line of fire?

Oh right. Nobody knew who he was, and he was nice and safe in Vermont, where he didn't have to face people shouting and cursing at him when he stepped out of a car, for daring to reform healthcare.

I have yet to see people here acknowledge Bernie is promising fluff, dreams, and lies, but certainly there's no trouble repeating the manta drilled in by twenty plus years of Republican propaganda: that Hillary Clinton is a liar. Somehow when questioned about the impossibility of Bernie's promises, the defense becomes one of his character and one of attack on Hillary's character, because the "feeling" of authenticity is much stronger from Bernie Sanders. When he is, of course, just as much of a liar.

oh wow, she comes off as such a snake.. and that Bosnia thing, lmao.

honestly she reminds me of Ted Cruz. pathological lying little weasels.

Oh man, I don't know which is more embarrassing- the line itself or the people trying to defend it. No, she's not being sarcastic. She just forgot, and it's funny because we have that picture of him standing literally right there.

At least I hope she forgot, because otherwise she's just a liar like basket case lying Ted.

"Before it was called Obamacare, it was called Hillary-care"

She likes to repeat this but I don't think anyone ever actually called it that

She's just so programmed to say something, anything that she can't even calculate its impact before the words come flying out. Time is a rope and all it took was giving Hill enough of it for her to have that noose fitted and ready to go.

But Sir this implies the opposite, false propaganda is the natural weapon of a politician.
I think the implication is she's not a good liar. Like that clip of her where she's asked if she will not lie to the American people, she couldn't say yes or be convincing there.
