Not quite as good as 99.99 from a few months ago but nice stick. Would suggest in store as their website still describes the old KURO model but I saw a mix of KURO and HAYABUSA on b&m store shelves.

hayabusa buttons were a bust, needed my feathery sanwas

def can recommend the stick, though. hayabusa pcb + lever seems on par with the best of em.

What don't you like about them specifically?

Have you also changed the spring in the hayabusa? I'd recommend a JLF 2lb spring it really makes a difference if you don't like how loose it is and makes a great stick even better IMO.

i'll look into the spring on the hayabusa but i quite enjoy it as it is.

the buttons required just a touch more effort to push down than the sanwas. i didn't think it would throw me off so much but i'm just too used to sanwas at this point i think.

they are good buttons, though, and my friends (who also have played on sticks for ~10 years) all liked them. i'm just being particular.

Picked this up off Amazon Warehouse for $116. Full Sanwa. I reallllly need to stop buying sticks.

Edit: On Hayabusa buttons--they seem just as hyper responsive to me as Sanwas. A light breeze would register! I love them for sure. Hopefully Hori starts selling them separately soon and in different colors.

I thought my Hrap4 kai would look nice with a red balltop... I was wrong lol

while maybe red buttons could make it work.... I just ended up ordering a white balltop with white buttons

I asked this already in the shmups thread, got told to ask here since you're more hardware oriented, so here I am.

I recently came into possession of a Pana Custom supergun (with full Seimitsu sticks and buttons, if you must know), but when I tried to use it with my CRT via a specially-made EuroSCART cable, the power supply went POP and gave up the ghost. So I was wondering if anyone here knew what kind of power supply I should replace it with? I ask because there's no documentation that I can find that tells me the required voltage/amperage/whatever else the power supply needs, nor is there anything on the PSU itself to help me. If anyone can help me, I'd really appreciate it.

Simple question: where to order parts if I'm based in Europe?

Maybe I should hust switch parts from my old RAP V3 SA onto my new Kai if I want Sanwa? Is it it difficult to do?

edit: what about www.smallcab.net? Looks as a great site.

The madcatz 360 pcb in my custom sometimes fails to register up directions so I've just ordered a Cthulu pcb. Hopefully Capcom get the DirectInput layer working in SFV soon.

To be honest, unless you REALLY need screw terminals you could have gotten the Brook PS3/PS4 fightboard, since it works as Xinput on PC.

Was this easy to do? I recently got one of these sticks and I do love it. In the future I might put some Sanwa buttons in.

Also, I want to put an octagonal gate on, where can I order this for the hayabusa stick?

buttons were super easy to pop in

took 15 min and minimum effort

Made the switch to the new version of the HRAP 4 Kai in anticipation of issues running Killer Instinct. The X-Input really is a big selling point for this stick now.
I like the slight redesign of the art. Looks a little more "premium" now. The Hayabusa buttons were interesting (I liked the matte texture), but I'm too used to my Sanwas.

Silent JLF w/ smoke bubbletop, Silent OBSFs

how was the silent jlf installation process?

gonna throw one in my hrap 4 at some point.

No different than any other joystick. To remove the existing one just unplug the wire harness, remove the balltop, and remove the 4 screws fastening the joystick to the case. Reverse the process to install. 2 minutes.

Edit: This is all after removing the 7 screws and bottom plate from underneath the hrap 4. One of the screws is under the warranty sticker.

FWIW, you could have just left those two extra buttons on top in and used the remap feature on the stick to assign the L3 and R3 or the touchpad button to them in case any games use them. You wouldn't have to reach over to the top or sides if you ever needed them.
You can also completely unassign them so they do nothing if hit. It's a feature of that stick that's mostly overlooked.

Yep. For me having the hole plugs is more of a cue for where my hands are at. I'm just so used to a 6-button layout that when I use 8, I sometimes lose my place.

Also, as far as wiring goes, I just made the R2 position actually L1 so that I have R1 and L1 available.

I just bought the new HRAP 4 as well and was thinking of doing the same thing. 8 buttons is too many when I want to get my positioning on 6. I could probably get used to it though.

I love the extra buttons! I like the bottom right one as an extra one to use with my pinky. I map it to throw a lot, like in MKX.

I never have issues losing track of my hand as my thumb is almost always over the "X" button and my next three fingers hover over the top 3. No issues that way. Are people moving their hand around and only using their first couple fingers? I would not have thought losing place of your hand would be a problem.

Yeah, all my sticks since SNES have been 6 buttons. What size are the plugs? 24mm? 30mm?

Found out my friend doesn't have the Hayabusa buttons and I'm seeing that a few people here not liking them and switched them out. Anyone looking to sell them? :D

anyone knows if the new RAP4 Kai is backwards compatible aka I want to play my PS2 classic on PS3. So I can replace my RAP V3 SA ?

It has a switch for PS3 mode. I would assume it would work with PS2 classics but not entirely sure.

Anyone do this? I would have waited on buying a HRAP4 if I could have saved $30 but I only got it for the Hayabusa buttons so if they were just trying to offload the Kuros then it wouldn't have mattered anyways.

Do you guys ever clean your arcade sticks? I don't want to use something that'll get in the button wells or anything like that, wondering if there's any good suggestions.

Like sweat and the usual controller gunk? I just use a few wet/damp napkins and keep wiping until they're clean. If it's grease or food crap, you can try something like Clorox wipes. Just squeeze out excess liquid so they don't go into the buttons etc.

Ew. Keep food away from your arcade sticks!

lol i just keep my hands clean and clean the stick with a microfiber cloth after each use. Also keep it covered so it won't collect dust.
