That's probably a good idea. Probably for those transitioning as well. I'm going to be one of those people shitty and grumpy about Bernie effectively being done. Hilary isn't bad...I'm just seriously afraid that a lot of what she has touted recently is only in response to Bernie, and will drop off like a rock once he is gone from the race. But who knows...just rambling. Bummed that what I knew was going to happen has happened.

Yeah...time to take a break.

Nah Hilary is bad, but so is Bernie.

Idealism is a wonderful thing, sticking to your principles is a wonderful thing. But this is politics, neither of those are viable, you have to compromise to get shit done, Bernie never would have gotten healthcare off the ground, especially not with a republican congress.

The entire field is shit, if you want to make a real difference, vote in liberal house and senate seats. The only notable thing any of these candidates will do in this 4 years is seat the SC. That's basically it. The rest will be a continuation of the Obama administration with massive roadblocks.

The choices are being made today, and for the last couple of months. Is this your first election?

I can't tell if you're joking or not.

I'm clearly talking about the general, same as the person I was quoting. It'll be Trump v. Clinton, with dissatisfaction fueling Trump, and smug satisfaction fueling Clinton, and disaffected people who already don't have a record for consistent voting supporting a hopeful nominee who just lost pretty much any slim chance he had of winning said nomination. Trump's populism may well fuel rust belt states against Clinton. The risk is real, especially if new voters just don't vote.

So yes, they will vote Clinton, mostly...IF they vote. This is my point. If they don't because they got too close to the Bern, then it's just as bad as handing Trump the presidency.

So, assuming Bernie doesn't win any states tonight - which pretty much destroys his already meager path to victory - is he going to drop out or keep on going until the end just so he can rack up delegates to try to get some policy concessions at the convention?

For the good of the party you have to keep going, just fight less hard. If you only have republican primaries, the republicans get all of the media attention. The only way the democrats stay in the news is if Bernie stays in.

Woohooo John King on CNN just showed my county in Illinois (Lake County, northern suburbs) the only place reporting results in my state aside from the city of Chicago.

If anything, The Supreme Court won't be a disaster.

Dem will of course be better than repub this term, in all obvious ways. Im a dem, but im just saying, unless you are big money, you probably wont like the turnout once the years pass and everyone realizes their debt is still growing and the middle is squished even more. Expect even more radicalized leaders to come about if they dont figure out a way to change how elections work, which after Trump i bet you they are.

If he loses all states tonight he will probably drop out of the race tonight. Especially if the margins are as bad as they look right now.
If he does I hope he still stays in the public eye to keep his message alive and get his supporters behind Hillary. He said himself that on their worst day, both of them are 100 times better than anyone on the GOP side.

The way Hillary runs her campaign, it's better that the Democrats stay out of the news until the General.

I don't know why people should be expected to just automatically switch to Hillary from Bernie. I agree it's shitty to vote for Trump because fuck Hillary and hate that people would do that but that's their choice. I don't expect all (and also I really fucking hope) that all the Republicans don't just automatically switch to Trump if their candidate loses.

Really it's up to Hillary to now work to bring in all those now Dillusioned Bernie supporters if it's really so worrying that Berniebros don't want to vote for her in the General Election. If she can't do that then I'm not sure she really wanted the Presidency that much.

I'm wondering if the people who thought Bernie had a chance today are following their first primaries because it was pretty obvious he didn't have a shot at closing the gap today at all.

I hope Bernie followers aren't dismayed and still vote in November though. Exercise your rights everyone!

What up with them primary numbers though?

Look at the breakdowns, people who identify as Liberal and Very Liberal lean Sanders (the latter heavily), by comparison Hillary runs the table with Moderates and Conservative Democrats.

Polls have consistently shown that most Dems would be happy with either Clinton or Sanders.

When the alternative has been Trump or Jeb!, no shit they would be happy with either of Bernie or Clinton.

AP calls Ohio for HillDawg

Wow, I thought Sanders would squeak wins in Ohio (very tight) and Missouri. But it looks like it might be a clean sweep for Clinton. I want to see how Illinois shakes out.

That would certainly be an interesting choice and one I wouldn't mind. I like Kasich. If I had to choose a republican to vote for I'd have voted for him.

Wow.
Anti union, anti reproductive rights, anti gay anglican church Kasich as VP for the Democratic party.

The democratic party picking a republican VP.

NO FUCKING WAY.

Yes, I would pick him over the other republicans, but come on man... democrats dont need to run any more to the center.

Come on, Hillary is still a choice. She's not that bad.

I really truly do not want Hillary as President, but it does indeed look like Bernie is done. If it is indeed Trump vs Hillary like it looks like it is after tonight, then yeah the lesser of two evils is Hillary.

So nothing will change or improve for the majority of Americans for eight years now, this sucks. :(
