Bernie should dropout tonight. He also needs to tell all his supporters that he is 100% behind Hillary for the GE and anyone who even sort of believes in his ideals should be too. I think Hillary is slimy as hell, but there is no other option that makes sense than to vote for her. A vote for her is a vote for a more progressive Supreme Court, which is what the country will need 8 years from now in order to ensure Bernie 2.0 or whatever can continue in the direction of democratic socialism.

They veered to the right because they lost badly. It seemed to have success for a while with Bill Clinton, but it's been a pretty bad go of it, since. I think the problem with the party right now is that they're purposely downplaying their accomplishments -- afraid of their own success -- and trying to veer rightward again to hold house and senate seats.

This doesn't work, because if you have the choice between a Republican and a fake-Republican, the Republican wins, most of the time -- especially when Republicans are eating themselves alive from the far right and further right.

Actually what happened is economically liberal Woking class whites decided to vote GOP because of abortion and black people, so the DNC needed to find new voters.
 
Hillary really needs to take a few days off speaking, maybe a spa weekend. She sounds painfully hoarse. Understandably, given all the speechmaking she's had to do of late.

She can rest now, she's done for awhile. She can sit back and watch the GOP implode, while sipping tea and waiting for prime time later in the summer.

While he was handed a super bad plate coming in, the economic recover has been lop-sided, hence the fact Trump and a socialist can actually have legit shots at winning their respective contests (significantly smaller for the latter after tonight). We'll most likely see insurgent candidates again next election cycle if establishment picks end up winning this time around. Because the total amount of people in the middle class is shrinking year by year, and that trend is likely to continue, the burn the establishment down message will be much more potent.
 
Obama's lead over Clinton around this point in the game was about 140 pledged delegates.

Clinton's over Sanders after tonight will be at least 300.

The gig's up Bernie

This is where I'm at, as a Bernie supporter. I'm glad he ran, and as somebody who lived in Vermont for quite some time, it was awesome seeing him climb out of the tiny mountain state onto the national stage in such a big way.

I'm happy he gave Hilary some actual competition, because his presence helped push the the talking points in certain directions.

His presence in this election was a positive thing, and I think going forward there's a lot to be hopeful for.

Yeah, I have to agree wit h you, there. Looking at Trump's support -- more support him than are against him -- a brokered convention would outright kill the GOP. The hitch here is whether or not it'll be enough for business interests to invest further in Democrats than in Republicans. They'll get enough bang for their buck for Democrats, but Republicans are the better investment. If their funding dies out for whatever reason, we're likely to see Democrat sweeps for a while.
